Recommended Posts

I hope this wasn't already posted. I searched the forums for it, but didn't see it... so anway...I got this from another forum....We all know how excellent Firefox is... But want it to be even faster? If so, follow the instructions below.1:- Type about:config in the address field.2:- Set the value of network.http.pipelining to "true".3:- Set the value of network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to "100".4:- Set the value of network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true"5:- Set the value of nglayout.initialpaint.delay to "0"Line 5 you might notice is not there, don't panic. Just right clickanywhere in the config window and choose New+Integer, from there inputthe text in line 5 (nglayout.initialpaint.delay) and set the delay to0.There you go. Close Firefox, reopen it, and experience the web at amuch faster pace.Enjoy.

Hmmmm, I followed the steps above and tested them out. Although I don't have any software to measure the speed increase or decrease, I can tell you that it atleast did not slow firefox down any. I might even agree that this helped the speed. Who knows...maybe it makes a substancial differnce for non-high speed connections. I do know that I'm to lazy to go back and change these to recompare speeds lol.

this has been posted for a while, I have said before and I will say again. these changes will speed up Firefox a little bit, which can not be noticed by any means, but it will cause problems on some webpages and it will cause web servers to have problems.
