Monitor Vs Computer

Recommended Posts

What should I get? A new Monitor, or new computer parts..

The monitors are;

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
(most likely going to get the first one if i get a monitor)

OR:

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

^^
all of the ORs put together, and put into a case with an HDD and a screen and everything..

The second option I would have to make the money, but I have no job, so I would have to wait half a year to a year to get the money, in which i would also blow my money on new headphones, and drinks at school. The monitor i can get right now.

What is your suggestion?

Let us know what you're replacing. A lot of us would be analyzing whether the upgrades are worth you spending your hard-earned money on or not... like replacing a 19" CRT monitor with a 22" LCD wouldn't seem like a cost-effective upgrade. :D That's a matter of personal preference though...Not knowing what you'll be upgrading from, I would go with the components, but that's just me with my argument about screen space. But I'm used to a 17" laptop screen and I've never owned anything more powerful than a Pentium 4 3.2GHz or a Athlon Turion X2 1.2GHz. :DJust by glancing at the numbers, why would you go for the first LCD as opposed to the other two? Both the Asus and the Acer have a finer recommended resolution, and the Asus has a faster response time (not like you'll really see it unless you play a FPS).

Well the monitor i wouldnt be upgrading, i would be using... I would be using dual monitors, one 19" LCD and one 22inch LCD. I need a lot of desktop space, i do video editing, graphics editing and website coding.I would pick the first one also because of its versatiliy, i can turn it 90 degrees, and I can adjust it much better than the others according to my height of my chair, ect.I would be upgrading my system from 2GB of (i forget the speed of the RAM... its the speed before 800MHz and a core 2 duo 1.8GHZ (E4300) The reason i would change the computer parts is because I need better performance for video and graphics editing, and the reason for the monitor is i need SO much more desktop space to multi task, and work easier.

I would get new computer parts :D but that's me, I mean I don't really need to do anything to my pc, I have a 19" Monitor along with a 42" Plasma TV I use for gaming, Then I have 4.62Ghz along with 4GB ram running Windows XP and a 1TB hard rive along with a 500GB one :D.Mine is maxed out bad *bottom* :D.- Ash.

:D *ahem*Anyway, I can see how both options can be reasonably important. I guess you could go with the monitor first, seeing as you could buy it out right now and then save for your component upgrades. That way, you can multitask a bit more efficiently... but be prepared to suffer through a bit of wait time. (I'm sure you already know that video and image processing/editing is rather tasking.) Another plus to getting the monitor first is that you definitely won't be tempted to blow that away on beer money if you've already spent it... :D That first monitor, however adjustable it might be, is quite a bit more expensive for less capability (even though you can adjust it to your liking). Do you think there's something else out there, possibly, that would cost less than a $60+ hike-up for the convenience of being able to adjust the display more? Would you be willing to pay the extra dough for that or would you consider saving some cash by adding height with some old textbooks? :D (Then again, I'm ghetto like that.)
