bittr 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 I think they are only do main countries that are not to big like China for one would be way to big to do.Most tourist place's like: UK, US, France & some others They may do one with all the countries on but I am sure you would have to pay for that. No, most likely you won't have to pay for anything. Also, Google is not the only one doing street-views.There is a website http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ that has streetviews for major cities in Romania, and this company also does it for other central/eastern european countries ( Poland |Czech Republic |Slovakia |Austria |Russia). All for free, of course. It's only a matter of time until we'll be able to see street views from every major road in the world. And that's definetely a good thing. The 'against' reasons are kind of... (how sould I say this)... a bit dumb.
phoenixinno 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2009 This all seems pointless to me. It is a cool feature yet i doubt it will ever be useful.Everyone can use a map with an arial view and streetview isn't even very accurate. For example of you type and address in then check it in street view you are not shown the correct building.Im not worried about invasion of privacy or anything if someones has something they want to hide the shoulndt have it visible on the street but i think Google can put its money to better use. For example improvemnt of their Android software. If they are toimprove htier maps they should just stick to making it more accurate.

It is a cool feature yet i doubt it will ever be useful.Everyone can use a map with an arial view and streetview isn't even very accurate.I find street-view very useful when I am planning on driving to an unfamiliar business or home, I usually look at the address I am looking for on google street-view first, so I can identify what I am looking for. It really helps in areas I am not accustomed to. Arial view does not allow me to see the front of buildings which is what I would be seeing while driving. It really helps in areas I am not accustomed to. Arial view does not allow me to see the front of buildings which is what I would be seeing while driving. It is also very useful for businesses too that take a lot of their work on the road. Our telecommunications company does site walks for customers we've never met, and depending on a GPS is very frustrating when all you have to go off of are addresses and a laggy satellite signal. Sometimes a GPS will even lead you to the wrong place. With street views, you can actually see the buildings that you're looking for (as well as familiarize yourself with the area so you can spot your target destination by recognition), and for us, we can use street views to look for existing side-mounted antennas that we can't usually see with a overhead satellite view. gummybear 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 haha teina... google toilet. That'll be the day...I can't imagine that they'd be able to execute that kind of project so well.. because taking satellite photos are one thing.. but actually manually having people take pictures of houses on every street? If they do manage to pull it off though, i'd be pretty darn impressed.
Echo_of_thunder 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Apparently not all these streetview drivers are that great after all... here is an article about one driver hitting a deer, and the whole ordeal was uploaded to google streetview. It has since been taken down, of course. Â And of course just for everyone's personal amusement, Google streetview car being pulled over for a traffic violation: Would love knowing what that ticket was for? And yes that is why google has done all this, for personal amusement of the world. Kind of funny but today I got talking with someone of all the uses of google and there maps. We both think Google now try and map the human brain next.

enderforce 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2009 I don't think there is much invasion of privacy going on here. Although when they added my street and I saw it for the first time it was a little creepy. But seriously, how much privacy is lost by a few more people seeing the front of your house?
