Someone beat her in the last second, wow that must have left bruises, poor girl :P (just pokin' fun) I recently listed two different products on Ebay but I didn't get any takers so I ended up paying a few bucks for listing. Regardless, I think Ebay is pretty cool and I bid on occasion. The last thing I won was a product that may help my window cleaning business. Most of the time I take a quick glance to see if I can get it cheaper than somewhere else.

I think bidding at the last second is the only way to go. If people all bid near the beginning or at anytime other than the final 20 seconds, the prices tend to be higher because everyone is driving up the bid. I find that jumping on something in the last second gives better results because people won't have a chance to increase their bid beyond what they have already put in.

ya that is what everyone does, or at least the frequent ebay buyers. they all wait until the last minute then thats when all the bidding goes down. I can even tell you how many times i've been out bidded in the last 25 seconds of an auction.

ya, most "veteran" ebayers put their bids in at the last second. I've actually seen an item with no bids up until the last 45 seconds where like 25 bids were put in. But, it's just like a real auction. That's what happens there too.the problem with bidding at the last second is that you really need high speed internet. You can't possibly do it with dial up or a similarly slow connection. It might take you 30 seconds just to load the confirmation page and by then the auction is over.

you only really have to worry about paypal if you are selling things on ebay. I only buy stuff off there. My paypal account simply has a credit card attached (which has a very low limit). If I ever get into trouble, and by trouble I mean being cheated, I simply cancel the card and report the scam or fraud to the credit card company. The credit card company will not make you pay. Also, some advice to paypal users. Don't attach a bank account to your paypal account because they have been known to take funds from your account without notice or your approval. They do this for charge backs. On a credit card they can't do that. If they do take funds off your credit card without your approval it is fraud.

I've been on eBay since 2001 & signed up for Paypal around the same time... fortunately no major problems except one time they locked my Paypal account for some unknown reason & requested I fax in identification, but after I did that, they unlocked it.About people who bid at the last minute, they're called snipers. But there are actually places where you can sign up, input the auctions you want to snipe & it does it automatically for you.I just sell every now and then--usually junk I find lying around and want to get rid of.

i don't buy or sell anything on ebay. the main reason is because i'm a bit too young (i'll be 15 on march 3rd :D ), but even if i was old enough i wouldent. i don't like submitting too much personal info (and i've seen the ebay signups, ugh), plus i don't trust people too much :D
