Wills, Etc

Recommended Posts

Hope this is the right place to post this question. While I am not really ready to sit down and decide who gets what when I croak, I am wondering about what to do and how to protect my partner in the event something happens to me. We are not legally married, so I can't count on that to protect him. I would like to make sure he becomes exucuter of my estate. I own the house we live in, and I want to make sure he can stay in it for as long as he desires. I do not want to envolve a lawyer. (I dislike them as much as I do politicians, and doctors) Anybody have any clues at to where to start?

You might want to look into seeing a Notary, they might be able to help you with something like this. Not entirely sure thats what you should do, but as you don't want to see a lawyer I'd say thats the next best thing.

Lots of free forms and junk available on GoogleI used something like 'Wills free forms' and got a load of responses. Most of them look pretty decent, but there is quite a variety, and they warn about using the correct ones for your State and all that junk... (glad we have only 10 provinces here).Hope this helps.
