jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted February 3, 2008 Using the exchange rate calculator found here : http://www.gocurrency.com/content/gocurrency-web-tools, the price converts to around $135.00 CDN. That seems about what the value should be, in my opinion, for this machine. Likely a very good tool for your program.
CrashCore 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Personally, I'd say that's a little too expensive of a price for that PC. I would suggest you shop around for a little while longer. It's especially expensive considering you're doing this for what sounds like a charity, so you should get a pretty good deal from whoever is selling you the PCs. However, if this is the best deal you can come by, it's not so bad. I merely suggest you keep looking because it's not a to-die-for deal.
imbibe 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 I would say that this is a very good price, you are getting for used computers. For bulk orders that may come down more a bit. Just make sure that you are actually getting working computers without any faulty components.

Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted February 5, 2008 Just to clarify just a bit that sadly IBM computers are not cheap, I was looking at hard drives for IBM a few weeks ago and I have to say I was completely shocked. These prices are like prices of 5 years ago for PC, meaning that to get a descent IBM hard drive you would have to sink over $500 for 100GB or more. Considering that and the specs above that is a very cheap price for a IBM built computer, and compare that to building the cheapest PC you can think of thats about 1/3 of a price tag. But people just try to ignore where these computers go and keep concentrating on the price. I know it means business for them and i cannot expect courtesy or charity when they do business, but atlest some concern.... Let me see what cane be done. Anyways thanks for your concern.Ya as you said... this is not a bad deal... It looks big just because we are buying more than one computer and the price goes high.Ya.. and i am looking for other opions...like new Vendors who would atlest listen to what i say and know where these computers are going to go.But again.... i hate to complain... . Everyone want their work Done. So i will have to look into options rather than complaining. .So.. time to make a call..
