Is Democracy The Perfect System?

Democracy is not a perfect system. Not by any chance.But then again, it's the best one we have now. Look at how tyranny, communism, and, well, whatever other form of non-tribal government you choose to assume came out.A system nearer to perfection would be democratic communism, or in other words, socialism. In this system, decisions must reach consensus before passing through. Although absolute consensus is not always possible, here's a referendum system I'd like to see in place:If a 90% consensus cannot be reached for any certain bill, pass it as a referendum onto the people. If enough people okay the bill for it to reach 90%, then the bill can be passed. How this is counted:The percentage of people who consent to the bill in the government house is divided by 2, and then the referendum is passed out. The percentage of people supporting the referendum is then multiplied by (one minus the percentage of people supporting it in the house) and added onto this percentage score. If the percentage is then above 90, then the bill can be passed.So, for example, if 86% of house members support the bill, then this number is divided by 2 to get 43. To reach 90%, 47 out of 57 people (or about 82.5%) must vote yes to the bill.This way, if there isn't a majority in the house, and the majority of people want it, then the bill can be passed.

I don't believe there is a "perfect" system. I think some systems tend to work better than others, but in the end they all have their own issues. I'm not entirely sure if are even any true democracies in existence, or if there ever has been. For example, the USA, which is widely considered a "democracy" is in fact a Democratic Republic. In my opinion, a Republic is probably more effective than a Democracy, because the leaders of a Republic are not constrained by majority rule. They do have to listen to their constituents, and follow the will of the people to a degree, but they have the ability and (hopefully) the forethought to not be swayed by public opinion alone. Mob rule could easily be just as scary as autocratic rule.

I wish more people understood that we are not a democracy--we are a republic-and because of this we are letting our represenativs destroy our republic and what it means to we the people.It is a shame that iI may live to see the day that goverment rules us all.How is it that the balance of power allowes the presenadent to take totle control of all the people and take away any and all chances to protect us frome them(goverment )
They can take away our 2nd adment right at will and people dont even know or even understand what this realy means-We are on our way to totle goverment control and we will have no way to stop them.God help us all.

Dear friend I think no system may be called to be the perfect one every system has its loop holes and every system has many good points too. So it depends on the mentality of the person that which particular system attracts him or her. By as you said some thing about democracy, here I would like to add that it was accepted by those who don't wanted to be extreamists, so a middle way including good points from both systems that is socialist and capatalists are included in democracy. I think I personally favour this system.?
