chaosdesign 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2007 (edited) Well i am a computer technician, at the age of 22i have always wanted to do what i am doing now (except for about 2 years when i wanted to be an astronaut)I like where i work, in fact i am at work now.The only thing that i hate about my current job is the fact that i leave at the end of the month to move up north to be with my partner. How i got the job was, i did a few weeks of work experience back in 2003for the next while after i left school i worked in the vineyards for two years, i was a supervisor where i worked, then because of a back injury i had to stop work for four monthsin 2006 i walked in again and said do you guys have a job open, i had a chat with the boss, and i got the job. I am currently running the IT dept. by my self at the moment because my work mate has gone to japan for a 5 week holiday and he only left last week.So I like my job. linekill 1 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 I'm working on a tech support center for a networking company. That's actually all I do to earn money, as of this moment. An interesting job where you get to interact with people from different parts of the world. Most of which, are in there worst shape. (Shouting and cursing on a non-working product but really is working and was just messed up. Sometimes, though, it really is not working.) It's fun. And I get to learn a lot about computers. By the way, I'm a chemistry major and graduated about a year and half ago. Got sick of chemicals so I plunged myself into computers to learn something new. In the next months, maybe, I'll start pursuing chemistry back. Life is work. So, it's best to work on something you enjoy.

itek4u 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 i am interested to know what people do for a living and how they got to the position they are in? also if they have any regrets or ...I am an onsite tech specialist. I love what I do and am very good at it, at least that is what everybody tells me. One catch about all of this though is I am self-employed which is very stressful. Where I live at there is no other choice. You are either self-employed or not employed. Doing what I do has a tremendous catch 22. Either you are doing well or not at all it seems. Right now I am going through a very hard time do to recent life circumstances. To do what I do I feel it is better to be working for a company where you know what kind of paycheck you are going to receive is. But the benefits are you do not have someone looking over your shoulder and the income can be unlimited if things play right.

ivanskillers 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 i am interested to know what people do for a living and how they got to the position they are in? also if they have any regrets or if they are happy or not doing what they do? include age possibly to give respect to the value of time.me? you might ask...or not..im going to tell anyone who is reading this anyways: i am only 21 and i am about to gradute college as a Real estate major from san diego state university. i really have no intentions of using my real estate background becasue i want to leave the country and surf. i will also finish my paramedic training in May. i like to help people so thats why i persued my EMS career but even that isnt my passion. why have a job if you arent happy? why is money always the answer? or seems to be anyways. i own a surf company and a graphic design company. those make me happy but they dont pay the bills. i have 18,000$ to pay off then im leaving to kenya, africa. from there i'm going to capetown south africa, then france, then back to san diego. then im going to fiji, australia, new zealand. im afraid i wont come back ever again. this is life for me. the ocean draws me to places around the world. i would rather be poor than wake up every day hating my partner, job, house, location etc. i could end up in ruins living in a shack in indonesia but its better than corporate america to me. money is only paper. granted i can do these things because of it but when is enough, enough? is hitting the stock market big and buying a 300,000$ car happiness? i met a guy when i worked as a valet in del mar. i pulled up his 276,000$ bentley convertable. he looked at me and said" you must surf? i remember when i had the time to surf". i asked him looking at the car,"was it worth it?" He was a smart man becasue he replied" not really, i worked my whole life and stopped surfing for the money, but i have some really nice toys!" then he drove off. he knew i wasnt talking about the car. i was talking about his life. if you hate what you do,then change it. dont die unhappy. be poor before you die with what society calls rich. Hi My name is Ivan Garcia and I am 18.I am currently a Computer and Web Specialist.I have always liked computers and the internet and I decided that I must take my skills to the next level so I applied for this job and got it real easy.id say that I know alot more than someone with a BA in Web Programming!I plan to work for big companies in the future and help make the internet more powerful! Bluebear 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2008 Age: 15.Where: Norway.Since I am busy with school, I don't have time for a job. I am sure that if I really needed - and wanted, to get one, I could. But I get money from my dad every month, and from my mom. Well, I don't need to do anything for a living, my mom does all those things. But I need to clean and tidy my room, and the rest of our house. And I need to take care of my rabbit, but I guess that does not count for a real job, haha.
