The Axium Empire was not that much different from any other group of small city-states before it was unified by Ryswick the Great. It wasn't until Ryswick was appointed Master of the Knights that Axium began to have conflicts with neighboring countries. The Axium Knights demonstrated an amazing superiority in combat and started conquering neighboring countries one after another.

Axium's aggressive expansionist attitude began to alarm surrounding countries. They quickly formed an alliance with the military city of Tracass at its center. Though greatly outnumbering the Axium troops, the alliance was soundly defeated at the battle of Skerna Plains. All the city-states of the alliance were forced to open their gates and accept Ryswick as their leader hence forming the united Axium Empire.

Around 100 years ago, the invention of the steam engine sparked an industrial revolution in Axium. Rapid growth and radical changes were felt in almost every corner of society. Huge fortunes were quickly amassed by the merchant class. Citizens of Axium began to realize that power could be gained through capital and not just through the favoritism of the king. Gangsters proliferated and outlaws committed daring robberies with the aid of industrialized guns. The Empire teetered on the brink of chaos.

Wealthy groups of bankers, merchants and lawyers
grew to have power equal to those of the noble classes.
The intelligencia of Axium became divided into two groups.
There was a conservative group that supported the sovereignty of the king while spurning industrial evolution. There was also a group of reformers who believed that capitalism and the development of a mechanized civilization was the only way to embrace the future.

About 60 years ago, the Crown Prince of Barone, an extreme conservative, succeeded to the Axium throne. This led his younger brother and reformist, James, to lead a group of his followers south to a region called Ilys. There they establish the Republic of Travia, with James as its first President

The emergence of a republic attracted the wealthy of different regions, greatly undermining the foundation of the Empire. Finally, King Barone issued an order to arrest James and his leading advisors, branding them as traitors. This action quickly escalated to war between the Empire and the Republic. An early victory was predicted for the Empire because of its sheer strength in numbers. But the Republic was armed with immense capital and the power of a science-oriented civilization making it a difficult army to defeat.

After decades of futile bloodshed, the Empire suspended its attacks on the Republic. The two countries signed an armistice. This allowed the population of both countries to enjoy a rare moment of peace.

In the backwoods and rural regions of both countries, groups of rebels formed. They called themselves anarchist, but both the Empire and the Republic labeled them as outlaws. With no defined leaders, the number of anarchists who lived outside the law, looting and staging surprise attacks on stores, factories and small corporations, kept growing.

About this time, there emerged a mystic in the Empire who had the ear of the king. Magic had been all but forgotten by the general population after the advent of the industrial revolution. The master magician, Ramitz, had been secretly studying the powers of the dark arts for decades. With dreams of reconstructing the declining Empire, Ramitz accelerated his research of magic with the strong support of Barone. The army of the Empire was quietly strengthened. Backed by the military, Ramitz started to suppress the anarchists of the country. The emergence of the magician and subsequent appearance of a strong military force provoked the Republic. They belatedly launched a secret study of magic and developed their own system of spells and talismans.

It is against the backdrop of this tumultuous time that there emerge a number of people who are willing to test their own magic powers. They are becoming quite renowned on the continent as renegade adventurers. Join them in this land of mystery and adventure. Test your own skills against ominous dark forces and online competitors. Experience the world of Gunz.

Some basics and more information:

This game is a shooting/sword fighting game, it does have some glitches, but not many.
Mainly your starting items are:
A cotton shirt
A Gun
A dagger or a Sword (rusty)

These are the basic Controls

the set up for Gunz is a "WASD" set up, that means you control how you walk with the keys "w a s d" found on the left side of your keyboard.

To walk foward, you click "W" to walk backwards it is "s" to walk left, click the "a" key, and to walk right, click "d"

If you have never gamed before, you might find that a bit confusing, but you get used to it, I advise you leave it the way it is.

The space bar is used to jump.

How to dash... to dash you click w a s d (choose any one of them) twice quickly, then you will dash with a sword/dagger, or roll if you are weilding a gun.

To shoot you use the left mouse button, and to swing a sword you use the left and right mouse button, but not at the same time.. the right mouse button is an upper cut, and sends them flying upwards. the other is just a regular swing.

To register and download Gunz you go to gunz.ijji.com then click download, it might take a while to download, but it's worth it.

Once Gunz is installed it should install a shortcut on the desktop, when you click on that, it launches the Gunz website (YOU HAVE TO HAVE IE!! )

Automatically, it should take you to a page so you can register an account, if not the url is : http://www.aeriagames.com/ijji

Once you have done that, you are ready to play! go to your desktop, and click Gunz, then it will open gunz.ijji.com and click "play Live" and if you do not have Active X installed, it will ask you to install, and then it will start the game.

once you start, i suggest you use one of the quest servers, i am usually on quest server two, with the username Tramposch.

Ok now you are ready to play, it will bring you to the "lobby"

First step, go to "options" on the top right of the screen, and click on the image of the keyboard which also says keyboard on it. In this menu, I suggest that you set "gun" to the letter "e" and sword to the letter "q" it will make game play easier, because those buttons are next to "wasd".

You are ready to start! ok, choose a game, and click enter.

You use the mouse to aim your gun, or just swing at the person, to reload, you click the R button.

A crucial part of the game is wall running.

To wall run, you go up to the wall and click "space" here is an example.

http://www.aeriagames.com/ijji#

on the right side of the image, click wall running, and there is an animation on how to do it.

You need to do that a lot to get the hang of it, I'm still not that good at it.

Those are the basics of the game! Have fun!
