Saint_Michael 3 Report post Posted October 28, 2006 Not bad of a skin like the use of light and dark colors, using joomla I see. A couple of suggestions one with the search box add a submit button if you can or put a small note that says "Press the Enter key after typing in text in search box." Or something like that.Next suggestion would be to change the Feed images as well I recommend using this site to make them http://www.lucazappa.com/brilliantMaker/buttonImage.phpAlso you have a parse error on your forum, either you editing right now as I type this post or you haven't yet and this is the first you know about it. By the looks of it you try adding a mod somewhere and you copy and pasted the code wrong might want to check up on that as well. But like haslip said once you add the content we should take another look at it. Bkag 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2006 I think it is a really nice skin, works well with the banner. As Saint Micheal said, having a search button would be an improvement or a note saying press enter.I guess this is just my preference, but i think that it would be nicer if the "Newsflash" box was down with the newest users and whos online boxes.I also would also disable the links if you click on, under syndicate, the rss and opml because that also has a parse error. rvalkass 5 Report post Posted October 28, 2006 The design looks good, everything is clear and well laid out. As S_M has said, either tell people to push enter when they use the search box, or fill that space to the right of it with a Go! button or something. The parse errors people are mentioning appear to have been caused by a missing " or ' so give the code a quick scan and see if you can fix that. Using black for the links seems like a bad idea to me. Generally, links are a different colour to default text, and even though your text is white, it still isn't obvious that black text signifies a link. See if you can find another colour that might fit in, or give links a dashed underline. Finally, the RSS, Atom and OPML images could be changed to fit in more with your blue colour scheme, as they look out of place at the moment.
darran 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 I have just taken a look at your site and I think on the layout wise, it is pretty good and organised but I think the site is lacking in appeal. It looks like a boxed up site, with a plain color which is dark sea blue. I feel you should work more on the design a little to give a more attractive look. Because right now at the moment, I feel the site is very dull. The banner looks very classy, but the panels which displays the header like 'MAIN MENU', 'LOGIN FORM' .. etc, you could use a better looking background rather a plain color like grey-white. It seems your site was designed using simple css styles and images. Try to use some server technologies like asp and maybe even ajax as well. A shoutbox would be good for visitors to give their comments, and eliminating the need for the page to refresh would be a major plus. Like what was mentioned, a button saying 'go', 'enter' or 'search' whichever suits you best would be handy to put next to the search bar. The foundation of the site is done, with your layout and even some content. But the thing you should focus now is to make it as appealing and attractive to the user and reduce any user hassle, ajax would be good to start the shoutbox whereby visitors can communicate. I am sure they would prefer going through the shoutbox instead of having to type a email and send it to you.
quakesand 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2006 The site is really clean and very professional. The layout is cool and the arrangements are very tidy..Poll system works fine and only two people voted, included me...lolsearch function is very functional, great banner,Everything's ok except there's no songs yet..You should make the text in the homepage a link to the page. That means when i click backtracks i will be linked to the page.
