Good ideas from you SM if the security issues are confronted now and you can prove that you can run this without any potential big time downfalls I'm sure this can be a successful adventure.I'll check back in this thread from time to time on the progress as well as your website.

I'd be glad to help in anyway I can. I can make PHP scripts based on tutorials or whatever I can do for the site although I'm not very experienced I can update it or whatever. This sounds like it could be a hit. I was thinking about instead of using CuteNews you could use a download system or something that includes a rating and edit it some to show examples or screenshots. By the way the site so far looks really nice and you have done a great job. Hopefully with all bugs fixed it will be running in no time.

I got some bad news right now I hit a snag and that is getting my IP banned on the gamma server (don't ask how I don't know myself). So right now this project is on standstill till its figured out.
