Do you know what I think women are? I think they have the most complex mind in the world...I'll show some examples. :)Pretend you're on a cruise and there is a casino there ("I was just on a cruise ") and you couples split $20 each. You don't plan to spend more. "HONEY! LOOK! I WON 2 NICKELS" and she comes over to you "where did your chips go," she asks. "I ate them," the guys would say. And then she leaves, and you take out some more cash to play. Then you come back home a few hours later. She asks you how many money you spent. You reply, "four....". "FOUR DOLLARS?" She screams. "Close enough," you murmer. THen she comes waking up at 3:00 in the morning and also wakes you up and slap you. You then ask what is that for...she replies,"DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID IN MY DREAM??!?!".See...they have the most complicated and complex mind a guy can never figure out.

Men are usually stronger than women physically. It is a fact that females can wear their headphones and listen to music while they work, while males can't (I don't know, my teacher told so). Women have better hearing, while men have better sight? Heard this, also.

Some are acceptable human beings.I like to think that women are clueless as to their ability to face reality, that men are much more talented at life in general, that their knowledge is only possibly better than mens because men gave them the knowledge to know things in the first place. well i think what elevenmil said is disrespectful to women, what exactly is it that makes you any better than a woman? In fact that exact comment makes women better than you (most women) because most women wont make comments like that. Women are complex, special, great people, of course some are complete B****** just as men can be A******* but in my opinion women are better than men:1. Women dont normally abuse their partners as men do, i know its not all men but more men than women are abusive2. Women arent, in general, as aggressive as men3. Women dont start wars. 4. Women dont go around saying "men are just something to have sex with and dump in the gutter the next morning5. women arent afraid to show emotionsand theres more...Of course this doesnt apply to all women and im sure that a lot of men are able to show emotions and aren't abusive and aggressive and dont think of women as toys, and to those men i say good on ya! @elevenmil Sort yourself out. Ah. Well. I'm afraid you're generalizing again. Most generalizations, in particular ones that are directed at (or against) around half of the human race, are bound to be inaccurate, foolish and an indulgence that is an absolute waste of time. Your comments, if in jest, are in poor taste, and if in seriousness, amount to being discriminatory, and in a derogatory way. I am all for freedom of speech and opinion, but I'm against complete lack of sense, respect, and - I'm afraid - tact.

Having good things to say about women is almost as bad as having to say bad things about them. It may not sound as tactless or derogatory as this, and may even be flattering, but it'll still be a generalization, and therefore discriminatory and nonsensical, apart from being another waste of time.

 

As for m107 - please use a spellchecker! I think I see what you're getting at - you're wondering if women amount to being more than 'objects' in a certain sense, and you want to check what the general feeling is.

 

I think the notion of discussing a class of people really doesn't make sense - unless the class is defined by a governing characteristic over which one has some control. By this I mean it might make some sense to talk about teachers or cooks in general - a statement like "most cooks must love to eat", or "people who own websites are more likely to know HTML than a random person who's walking down the street", may sound like statements which make some sense, or as being worth debating or talking about (I'm still not in favor of generalizations - but there are bad generalizations and good ones). However, on the other hand, talking about women - or men - or Christians, or the French - doesn't make sense (with very rare exceptions - you could say Frenchmen are good at french, that's fine for obvious reasons), because your gender, religion, and nationality, are things over which you have no control whatsover. Most teachers are people who have become teachers, so you might talk about something being common about everyone who has made that particular choice. But how many people "become" French or Spanish? The only technical counterargument (as far as I can see) is that sex-change operations exist, you can change your religion, and even nationality. But these are exceptions, and you certainly can't make a valid generalization on the basis of a few exceptions. Which is why most constitutions condemn discrimination on the basis of sex, nationality (except where necessary, such as perhaps military occupations), religion, caste, color, and so on. If even the laws, organizations, and businesses are able to recognize the fact that such discrimnation doesn't make sense, I don't see why people in general don't understand the simple fact.

 

What you're talking about is a non-issue. There are serious social, economic and legal issues that need to be sorted out in the context of gender differences, but none of this discussion appears to be along those lines. I am myself amused about jokes that were aimed at women (or men) specifically, and sometimes even to the extent of nodding and thinking, 'yeah, I know that's so true of most women!'. However, I refuse to believe that these things make any sense beyond the context of a light-hearted discussion.

 

I hate lurking in the murky depths of opinion - so I will try and conclude with a couple of facts. One, women are human. For everyone who is debating about whether they deserve to be-respected/Co-exist, well, they deserve to exist just as much as the men do. Everyone needs to justify his or her existence in his or her own, personal way - you deserve to exist if you succeed, and vice versa, irrespective your gender. The second fact is that the human mind is a complex thing. "Women" aren't complicated in particular - some women are, just as some men are. This is the n-th time I emphasize that generalizing is dangerous, and not a worthwhile exercise.

I just read all the posts, and my opinnion is that most of you here are very young, with exception of mama_soap (your post was well worth reading, as you bring out good points)... Now, what do I say I believe many of you are young... This may sound like a generalisation, but it;s in my experience that with age, a person starts thinking differently... I'm not saying that I'm old, I'm 25, that's not too much, but I like to think of myself as a grown person, with his own opinnion...

 

So.. Arguements, that all women are the same, complicated, sex-objects, big talkers, or any other, are just plain... ignorant... Mama_soap already explained everything about generalisation, si I don't have to repeat that...

 

In my shrot meddelings with women, I have met many different women... Some can fit in all stereotypes, some can fit in some of the stereotypes, and some can't feet into any of the stereotypes...

 

I actualy have high opinnion of women, having my fathers suster as an example of a successfull business woman, who did everything on her own... Smart, educated, and she lives a full life... That's my auntie

 

My ex-girlfriend, of whom I also had a very good opinnion, showed me, how women can be very bad persons... She said some things to me, and completely other to someone else... She lied to me extensively, and when I confronted her with it, she didn't admit, but continued lying and making a fool out of me... I gave her all the love I had, and she returned it by cheating on me, and making an idiot of me... Now, she goes around claiming I'm the bad guy, and I made all the mistakes, and she keeps making stupid mistakes, over and over again... But let her be... I don't care...

 

Based on this situation, I have every right to claim that all women are the same... But they're not... There are quite a few very decent women, smart, loving, caring...

 

Right after my breakup, a friend of mine told me she was in love with me... She actually was so in love with me, that she gave me advices on what to do with my, now ex-girlfirend, and she stayed by my side... She proved to me, that not all women are the same... She showed to me that a woman can be as witty, and as smart as any other woman or any other man, and she can be a great interlocutor, in any conversation... And we had some very interesting debates, where she showed that she can even be very supperior to me, a guy... And she often is supperior in other conversations she leads with friends...

 

In conclusion, women are just the same as men... Living breathing beings, made of flesh and blood... Some are good, some are bad... There is no rule...

 

Just the same sa we have those little jokes about women, the same thing happens to us... Women have those little jokes about men... And it may be the normal way of bridgind the gap between the "two worlds" that are a man and a woman...

 

So, to all you youngsters... Women are not toys, not objects, and not dumb... They are bright, inteligent, pretty beings, with the same right to co-exist with os on this Earth... Women are a decoration to the world, and without them, this world would be a far worse place than it is...

 

Respect her... And she will be your best friend in the whole world...

 

Depreciate her, make stupid sexist remarks... And you have the enemy for life...

I belive women are just as capable as men. I went to a competitive grad school, and the women were equall competition. Sometimes I find myself thinging men have more "common sense", but I think this is usually a result of how particular women are raised; and not a reflection on women as a whole.

Women can be just as abusive in relationships as men. When a girl hits a guy people think its funny, but that is STILL abuse. Also many women are emotionally abusive to their husbands. So they are JUST as bad as men when it comes to abuse of a boyfriend/husband.

I think women think too highly of themselves just as many men do the same. They think for some reason they are better then men, but they aren't. They act as if guys are worthless, which we aren't. In general most women i don't like.

Women now a days are treated like a piece of meat that every guy wants to get a bite out of. I believe women are just like us men and should not be looked as a machine for sexual purposes. They should be respected and they should be married to instead of just cheating on them. Pretty ladies have feeling just like us they want a family, kids and a nice loving husband who actually cares about them unless they are the ladies that sell themselves but even they want those. Ladies have to be treated with respect and i really respect them for they are a wonderful creation for men.Like stated above women can be mean and they are meaner and smarter than men and much much more cunning as when a man does something bad to another guy he does it out of aggression and anger but when this is done by a woman it is done cunningly and she plans it in a way so that she hits him on his soft corner. There are certain examples currently and from history on how women have done a lot for the community and how they can change a lot of things.Mostly done in third world countries women should not be secluded or boycotted but they should be included in every field. Women in many Asiatic countries are deprived of education because of lack of money but on the same had their brothers from the same parents are not deprived of education. Women and men should be equal and there is no religion that states otherwise that women should not study and be advance. Most of the religions have given roles to man and woman to play.To sum it all up women are nice things that can be nice and that can be bad but due to the current circumstances in the world women are used only as sex machines and not as a powerful weapon.
