Is Google Evil? Lol =D im serious =P

Recommended Posts

Google does more than be a search engine, it collects information about many people across the net. You think your makin money off adsense, but its helping google, making it stronger, you want traffic, you submit your site to google, yet making the database of information larger, and them stronger. Google is everywhere on the internet, i doubt you think about it much, but it is. Without google, we wouldnt recieve the necessary traffic a website needs. Google is feeding off you, but you dont stop it, you keep giving it more. What is your opinion on this?

Well what do you expect Google to do? They aren't going to give you money or resources without recieving anything from you. They provide resources to the web and the bigger they get the more resources they provide and the more helpful they are to mankind. Sure they make more money but good for them. They should for all that they have given us. Until they perform an evil crime or try to take over the world, I will continue to use Google.

It's stupid to think that any corporation's purpose isn't to get money. Google is no exception. What are you going to do about it? Tell the press? OH WAIT THEN THE PRESS GETS MORE MONEY FROM SELLING THE STORY! This is the whole point of capitalism. Provide a service, make money off it.All that being said, Google is much less evil than many companies.

Google can be evil on the hands of people. How? Ever heard of google hacking? Well many hackers use google as a main scourse to hack sites or servers.Google has enough information about your server,if one knows how to use google right one can hack with it.With google hacking the hacker can get from files to passwords on your server and this is known as google hacking. Now should you ask if google is evil, the answer is yes it can be used for evil.

Well, Google's a search engine. It searches for information. And this is the information age. Everybody, including banking and stuff like that, is using the computer. So there's no way you can really stop it.

I call this scernario a text book type mutual relationship. It happens in real life. It happens with sharks and fishes that eat junk of their teeth while the sharks protecting them from danger. It happens all the time, and now i guess its happening on the net. Google helps you get better, and you help make google better. This is not evil, or bad. This is just a ordinary networked mutual relationship.

About Google Hacking, Google is doing it's best to prevent these things frop happening by adding forbidden combinations of keywoards and search tags, but Google has to try to be as open to people as possible, and by disallowing these kinds of things they slowly restrict the powers their search engine has to offer for both the good and the evil users of it.

I don't think google should be held responsible for hackers doing their usual stuff. at the end of the day its the hacker's fault not google's. it does worry me that google has soo much useful info that it is appealing to hackers, and these people see google as a target to get our info.

Google sometimes does something... questionable, and thats always going to be like that. But as long as Google remains under good people, I think its great. Google does have A LOT of knowledge, and I love the fact they refused to turn over their search engine records... not for just a certain person because its needed for a criminal investigation, just asking for random samples of search engine data. I dont like that kinda stuff, I mean, I got nothing to hide, I just dont think the goverment should just get information like that because it wants it. Sure they had a good idea in mind, but how bout asking for all data on searches related to what they are trying to lock down (which was child pornography). If they had only asked for like the search terms and such used with many keywords related to that topic, then, yes, I wouldnt mind the records being given. But for just a random sample.... no....Anyways, I think Google isnt evil, I believe they keep their information as best they can to themselves. Its just the security threats of hackers and other people outside the company that might try to get the information and use it in evil ways.

Google atleast allows us to earn something while others are doing the same thing without giving even a dime. So, why should I not use google. Let them benefit it and I too benefit. Since their approach is two-ways they are growing day by day. Not to speak about putting adsense in our websites they provide space like Googlepages and blogger.com where one is encouraged to earn through their pages or blogs. While others are asking users to create blogs and they put their advertisements. I think Google should grow larger and bigger for the interest of the users. Blogspot may not be the best blogging software but they care us to earn.

So, if google is stronger you are becoming stronger too since they grow with customers and users who are also growing. :)

If they are not this much smart they would be here today. Smart people are hard to oppose them or it is difficult to be opposing them. What you do is go well with them and make hay while you can. Unless you can threaten their own existence there's no point in giving any competition. So, for me I'm quite happy with Google. They are not generous but they are smart. When others don't give away like adsense but they do and this is a more shrewed and smarter move which everyone seems to be enjoying... I'm riding too....
