serverph 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 odomike, do some testing with mozilla browsers.i use firefox and the lady's face in your page header is not properly aligned. a gapappears between the sliced images. it looks good in IE however.in the middle portion, the texts boxed in black (New @ Odomike Services Intl.?, Support Forums, Check this out) are not properly aligned as well.... in both IEand Firefox. it overlaps with the red "Featured Service" box.i like the flash clock you have in your site. maybe you can place it as a floatingand scrolling section so it follows whenever you scroll the page up & down. just a thought. googlue 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 I agree with lib2day. Same problem here... Here's a screenshot of your site as I see it here: Good luck with that, odo! Googlue!
odomike 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 I wonder why it is aligning like that in Mozilla Firefox. It wasnt like that in my IE and i am using IE V6. I will look into it and if there is nothing i can do to correct that, I will have to redesign the whole website....And that means lots of extra work for me....My Bad
googlue 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2004 Good luck with that, odo,I feel you need not redo the whole site. Just insert the code for the top banner after modification and verification. That should do it for the pic problem.Well, if you can, a complete overhaul would be great!Googlue!Check my post here:Googlue Updated Again... Review Please...

sjc 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2004 ok, first off, nobody should ever give a *BLEEP* about how things render in Firefox. considering that 95% of the people out there use Internet Explorer, do NOT redo you're entire site. you could very very easily get rid of that problem. everyone else who replied here: you are all *BLEEP*ing stupid and should not sit there saying "blah blah blah good luck but i don't care enough to actually look at the problem or offer a solution, cuz i am a *BLEEP*ing retard" odo, what i would honestly do is get rid of all the table cells and everything up at the top, and use a simple image map. here, i'll do it for you: first, you need to download this file then, open this page, copy and paste the source code onto YOUR page! KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR OLD FILE. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ********************************************** TAKE NOTE THAT I EDITED YOU ----SITE MAP---- PAGE. ********************************************** which, by the way, is definetly NOT a site map. i hope you followed what i did there. #1 much easier to maintain this way #2 works in both IE and Firefox, and i think it renders a bit nicer in firefox to be honest now, to get on with the rest of the review of your site #1 Get RID of that latest news stuff! It's on your main page, and has it's own section too!!! that is completley unprofessional, to be discussing you're clients. In your news section, it says "we are entering negotiations..." all over the place!!! all it would take is a rival to look at that page and they would know all the places to call offering cheaper services. not to mention, you should NEVER discuss another business plans OVER THE INTERNET IN PUBLIC. that is so unprofessional i would personally never hire you just because of that. not to mention the fact that you gave it Premium space on your front page. like...wtf man?!? YOU'RE SPECIAL OFFER SECTION GOT BUMPED FOR A *BLEEP*ING "NEWS" SECTION? put the Special Offer box, or the Testimonials box up there for the sweet love of god... #2 get that *BLEEP*ing "Live Help Offline" "leave A Message" button OFF YOUR FRONT PAGE. put that in your Support section #3 Forums?????? on a *BLEEP*ing webdesigner site? WITH RULES??? *BLEEP*ing christ man... wtf do you need or even WANT forums on that site for? honestly? do you think prospective customers are going to registers, post, and keep checking back for a reply? in PUBLIC??? no. they are going to email you. not to mention, everytime someone posts with a problem IN PUBLIC, it makes you look more unprofessional. AT LEAST make the forums viewable only to paying customers, and WHHAT THE *BLEEP* IS WITH THE MINIMUM POST COUNT IN YOUR "RULES" #4 your FAQ section link doesn't work, and your Site Map link takes you to your news page. i think, if i were considering you for a job, that right there would make me think "wow, this guy can't get his own site right, why would i even want to hire him" #5 your "toolbar" i like it, except that you have TWO OF THEM. along the very top, you have "Visions" that should go to the same place the "Company" link goes to. or get rid of one of them. Your "Solutions" link DOES NOT WORK. again, very unprofessional #6 on your "Contact Us" page, you have a forum, which REQUIRES????? people to list their phone numbers, work number, and street address??? and last name??? get rid of the requirements for everything except first name, and email address #7 also on your "contact us" page, there are waaaay too many little buttons down the left and right hand sides... they look stupid and make your site look stupid. they are also on almost everyy other page you have. like honestly, what the *BLEEP* do you have "clickherefree.com" and "trafficgod.net" and *BLEEP* like that on your site for. YOUR WEBSITE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ADVERTISING FOR YOURSELF, NOT EVERY OTHER *BLEEP*ING SITE OUT THERE. #8 That clock is *BLEEP*ing stupid looking #9 why are you advertising Xisto? do you realize how ridculously over-priced your services are? and you're advertising a free site that has links to HUNDREDS of other webdesigners (Xisto users) #10 your page that has all the Templates on it talks about a Flash Introduction, but nowhere else do you ever mention that you do flash, and none is shown on your site. do you even do Flash? and if you do, why isn't it included in your packages? #11 why do you say you introduced forums to help support your "numerous" clients, when you only have two listed in your portfolio? #12 your prices are *BLEEP*ing outrageous. you do NO graphic work, YET YOU STILL CHARGE PEOPLE FOR IMAGES. know what, that's fine, if it works for you, great. but to people who know what you are doing, we all know that it is called "ripping people off" you are a poor excuse for a webdesigner and your site sucks. ashiezai 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 Plz dun be that rude .. Xisto is a friendly forum odomike asked for advices but not critics
Shackman 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 (edited) Personally I think sjc did a very good critique. He must have put in alot of effort. This forum lacks these type of reviews that alot of effort and time has been put in. He even offered practical solutions to your problems.odo, trust sjc. Although I don't agree with his use of words and language, alot of what he said does make sense. The only thing I don't agree is: nobody should ever give a *BLEEP* about how things render in FirefoxAnyway, usually the most solid advice comes in a harsh way, try not to get angry. Being humble is the key to improvement.-Shackman Edited November 12, 2004 by Shackman (see edit history)
sjc 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2004 BTW, all forms of criticism are welcome *BLEEP* off ashiezai i dontgive a *BLEEP* what you say anyway
odomike 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 I must say that I am pretty overwhelmed at the amount of effort SJC dedicated into reviewing my website. I have never had someone dedicate such time n effort into my site's review before. Coupled with the fact that he profered technical solutions to my problems. Thank you very much SJC (even though you used harsh words on me) Now let me answer your question... #1. The latest news info was meant to let my customers know what is going on in my company. I admit to the fact that it was unprofesional for me to have added the "we are entering negotiations" part. I guess i will ave to remove that. #2. I am designing the special offer page and isnt finished with it yet. #3. The Livehelp offline image is meant to help people get to know about the website and the services been offered there. One of the livehelp administrators who happens to be online at that time can attend to the customer as the livehelp system alerts the admin whenever a visitor logs into any page in the website with the LiveHelp codes in them. I will have to remove the image and insert an invisible code which detects when people are online without having to displat any image. I think that should be better. #4. About the forums, now I am intending to change the forum name to WEBMASTERS SUPPORT FORUMS. I think that will be much better and I will remove any code that depicts that forum as a customer help forum. #5. I know about tha FAQ section link that doesnt work. I am still working on so many things in my site and thats the reason why i have put it up for review so that I can know the erors and correct them. #6. I am gonna leave the vision and company the way they are for now. No thoughts of changing anything there. #7. I will remove the phone number requirement and every other thing aoart from First/last name and email. #8. The adverts there are meant to generate more traffic and money for me. And that is why I m keeping them there. I will still add more for the purpose of making moey though 9#. I am still designing the flash intro, flash templates, animated GIFs, Banners (flash and images), animated baners (flash and GIFs), advanced templates and the rest f them. At the same time taht I am optimizing my website. You see, I have so many things on my hands at the same time wit limited time. #10. I may or may not have to remove the Xisto advertfrom there. More on the removing side. #11. I know that my prices are about the lowest I have seen in any web designing website. So dont you say that they are outrageous. If you say taht I am an excuse for a web designer, check out my google and other search engine rankings. I know that I am good with web and search engine optimization and flash designing and coding. I am also good in graphis designing too. Once again, thank you very much for taking the time and effort to review my website and for proferring the solutions. spawn_syxx9 1 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 My feature ReviewWell your links are pretty great. You have a very easy to navigate site as well as finding most of the pages alright. Your web solutions page is down but I am sure you know this. The transition to each page is nice save for your portfolio. When I clicked on your portfolio, it didn't go straight away, there was some loading time fluctuation even though it seemed that it had the least amount of coding. Great insert of text and images with the surrounding layout though. Your Sundiata Services site had some coding problems but maybe it was because that is how they asked to look so I really can't say that. Your special offers page though is also down though I don't really know why. Your netfirms site was a tad odd compared to your new site. But that is cool ^^ I can't make sites worth diddley :(Overall a nice site man. Well constructed and well created. A few glitches in my view though that might only be the IE here at school. Becca 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2004 You could instead of using tables use div layer and put the whole thing to top:0px; so they go right to the top...if that does not work then in the css you could do the margin thing like um magin:0px; ?? Don't worry I'm not making sense forget I said anything...
odomike 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Now I must say that I am impressed by your review spawn.....Thanks for that. I know that my web solutions page is down and i also know about all the other pages that are down in there. The main reason why I havent been able to rectify the problems in my site is because my ISP has been down for some time now due to some HardWare problem. But , hopefully, they will be back soon (within the next three days---so remove the benefit of doubt). And Thank you to you too Bexa for taking your time to review my website.. I prefer using tables to useing the div layer. I have already editted my CSS and changed the top margin to 0px. It hasnt showed there cos I havent been able to upload my website (ISP probs). Thank you to aall of ya for your quality reviews. I am grateful to you all for that. Your Mate, Odomike
