Hey all i am wondering if any of you will be interested in reviewing my site. You can find my site at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . I am looking on how to improve my sites traffic and users. My site offers every user unlimited access to all lyrics, videos, tabs, and a new feature that i added 25 MB of my own personal server space. The site is already in google, yahoo!, and msn (im not sure about msn but my friend told me it was). And it is a part of the google site map BETA. You can also find the site at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ if you want to also. Im also looking for new features and services that i can provide for my users if you have any suggestions im willing to do almost anything.

The content of your site is undeniably good, however, the design is something you should work on. It looks very disjointed and displaced. Too much scrolling text, and no graphics. Also, are the ads absolutely necessary?

The content is good but your design and placement of objects on your website needs working on.

 

Firstly, I'd place the header of all your webpages at the top, especially the one on the homepage. You have to scroll down to see that one.

 

Secondly, you should get rid of some of the marquees especially when they're not necessary (whereby I mean when the text would fit on without them). You could replace some or all of them with scrollbars by using the following html code:

Thirdly, you could move the links in the "Useful links for you to use" section to the navigation section at the top of the page. Then you could align the main table in the centre and it'd help it look better.

 

As for traffic, you need to get your site noticed. The design tweaks mentioned above won't draw in traffic but it may keep it. Set-up an affiliates section on your site and affiliate with high-traffic websites. Not only will it draw in traffic but also increase your page-rank. Register to popular forums and sell your website*. It may get you banned, but it could help draw in invaluable visitors. After that, be patient and the rest will sort itself out.

 

*edit: Thought of a better idea. Ask people to review your site instead. Then you get traffic AND ideas on how to better it.

Get an image editing program such as Gimp in case you dont have one. Then print the screen and paste it into the program, and start cutting up things and moving them around. Add some color and graphics to it. Make a design for thepage, there are a lot of tutorials on http://www.pixel2life.com/ for gimp, webpage layout and design. I think the content is great, just make the page a little bit better with a layout. Because it looks like just text.Another good idea is to search the web and see how other webpages are made, if you can, start learning css at places such as http://www.w3schools.org//?gtnjs=1, and see some examples at http://www.csszengarden.com/, etc.Good luck!

hmm... you have a nice big site there, lots of good info. But it needs work. The information is not organized. You may want to check out other sites that have good designs and layout your site before you build it. Sit down with a pen, and draw it up. Make the site look good, and not flashy. I'd give more advice, but I'm lazy.

It isn't too bad. I would add some more color or something to spice it up a little. Maybe add a banner. I like the content and stuff. The scrolling text is a nice touch but it seems a little dull still. I have to scroll to see the content I would move the ads to the bottom or something.
