Mortanis 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 I just signed up for a site, but when I try to get to cpanel at the link it gave me, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ , there's nothing. It just says "the page cannot be displayed." I get the same thing going to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (my domain name) Any ideas? Cena_54 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 (edited) when I try your site, all I get is the green cpanel thing, which is really starting to annoy me now. I know how you feel man. Edited March 13, 2006 by Cena_54 (see edit history)
grnjd 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 I'm not really sure, but when you signed up, didn't they emailed you your site address and the ftp address? It should be yoursite.trap17.net (I think)
jlhaslip 4 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 Ideas? Yup, try http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ because that is the old ip address you are using. If you just signed up for a site at the Xisto.net and have registered a domain name of your own, make sure you have them pointed to the Xisto.net nameservers. This should be done from where it is currently registered, I think. It will probably take some time (up to 72 hours) for the domain to circulate around the web before it can be accessed by others. The green cpanel splash page may be coming from the previous Host or the registar that currently has the Domain name, or which had the Domain name if you have pointed it to the Xisto.net nameservers already. Hope this helps. Post back here if it works or doesn't so others can benefit from discussing this problem.
electriic ink 1 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 Your site is at HTTP//64.69.46.210/~mortanisIt is functioning properly and ready for you to use. The problem lies with the way you set up the .tk free framing thing. You set the url to 64.69.46.210/ when really you should be using the address which is in the first paragraph. Seeing as we share an ip address, you need to tell it which site to load by typing in:  HTTP//IP-ADDRESS/YOURCPANELUSERNAME/Otherwise it won't work.
Mortanis 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 Thanks guys, the last post got it working. One more question, though... how do I log into Cpanel? It says I should get a pm or something? When I enter in the p/w I got from signing up, it's wrong.
BuffaloHelp 24 Report post Posted March 13, 2006 cPanel login is what you requested or entered during the hosting activation process. The password is also chosen during that process. Check back to you application for review. If you forgot your cPanel password, use the Process page to reset your password. Do not use any caps for cPanel user name. And looks like you signed up subdomain name with .tk. This is not a real domain name but a redirect service. If you entered yourSite.tk during the activation process you must change it using the Process page back to yourSite.trap17.com. Otherwise your site URL will not work.Remember, a redirect service domain name is not a real subdomain or domain name.
