what program/s do you think is best to edit audios? to mix audios up change audio formats.. what programs do you mostly recommend everyone to use? please help me out because i really want to know that i have one of the most reliable ones out there

You can try Nero SoundTrax and Nero SoundEditor. I've been using these 2 programs to do my audio editing for my projects for the pass few years in school. It's working great and I think it's somewhat nearer to the professional audio editing grade than a normal one.

I think this merged with the new version of Nero 7 Premium.

If you want a professional audio editor, and you don't mind paying, probably you would like to go for CakeWalk. This is the program used in generating the effects and the accompaniment for Kevin Kern's album.

There is also a free audio editing software from sourceforge. Probably you will look into this program. It might not be very professional in terms of interface and workability. But anyway, if you read through its guides you should be able to get what you wanted.

I use Audacity and it has never let me down. It does everything I need it to, the basic sound editing stuff, and has a couple of extra added features to make life easier. As it's free you will always have the latest updates and versions, as opposed to software you have to pay for. The interface is easy to use, and you can download extras and plugins etc if you need extra features on top of those provided.

For general Audio editing purpose like you said, FlexiMusic Wave Editor will do, that is I guess is the cheapest one with those features.

Professional sound editing is done almost exclusively with ProTools. However, it's expensive and fairly difficult to learn. As people said above, audacity is a powerful, easy to use, free and opensource alternative. It won't have some of the options you need in for more complex opperations, but by and large it's extremely useful.

Here use the cubase SX3 i even found it crack on the net so its the best u can find professional and the best to learn fast or for only basic effects and moderate syncing you could use sony acid which as a great beatmapper. need anything just post or PM me!

Warez isn't allowed on here, anyway, Cubase will slowly start crashing more and more often, untill it's unusable. For $300, they're gonna make sure no-one pirates it!

Well i guess it depends if you want software for editing, cuting, recording and all the other stuff or software for simple cutting, and converting. I personally use Cool Edit Pro 2 and i still dont know how to use all the tools but i am still learning. The best pro program is Steinberg Cubase but you need a really really good computer. For the other, simple use, you can try audio edit or something like that. Hey, there is always google for stuff that we need!

Cubase is a good soft on PC & Mac but its expansive if you just wanna change audio formats chooe a free software like audacity, Cubase is a good soft to edit MIDI partitions and play with VSTi the great Steinberg technology. How do we say in english the acronym for make music on computer, in france its M.A.O, in english too ? Someone can give me a good website on it please ?

I use CoolEditPro 2.0. I think it is the all around best audio editing software. You can easily change file types, just open the file and save-as. And it has a very simple interface to learn. If you are a beginner use this.
