I Am Scientist And I Believe In God Believer Scientists

Recommended Posts

I am a scientist (B.Sc , M.Sc & Ph.D) in Science and with Master in Systems Engineering and many others disciplines(Operations Research, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Project Managements,..) But I am believe in God. Also I was 5 years in Soviet Union in the time of Communism and Marxism ideology and this didn't affect my belief.

As a researcher, System Engineer, I analysis the miracles of the systems in our body.

As I am designer and programmer, I enjoyed being a designer and creator for things the human intelligence can make. So I have sense of creation and designer and feel that the Universe has creator too. And our systems in our bodies has Intelligent designer.

I have studied Thermodynamics laws, Special and General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, Newton Mechanics, Hydromechanics, Euclidean Geometry and Spherical Geometry, Optics and Electromagnetic Theory, Atomic Theory, with very high mathematical formulas and very complicated theories and equations.

Logic and all method of proof I aware for. I can distinguish between what is science and what not. Before you jump and say something I tell you that religion is not science but it is a faith and belief. I studied Darwin's Theory but I consider it as fiction and not facts. So it is not science and can be considered a belief.

I have the patience to read the scientific papers and research even if they are very new line or is not from my field or contradict my views because I have the basis grounds. So I have read thousands from different views about the philosophy, religion, beliefs, atheism, Darwinism , evolution, the Big bang Theory, astronomy, cosmology, etc. etc.

As I am aware about the scientific discoveries and universe facts, I couldn't find anybody could create a tiny cell of life from scratch. May be we could manipulate the genes or cloning sheep but this is not from scratch.

All what we study in science is "what is" and how it is going on.Why there is day and night?. The day is 24 hours and not 30. The earth is spanning around itself and go around the Sun etc etc. Why things is fallen to the ground ? [the gravity] . We put laws and formula to describe these phenomena. Verify the formula and correct it . But why these laws are in that shape and not not another. What the magnetism and electricity and what laws but why these law in that manner and not otherwise. What the concave or convex lenses and prism do to the light. What the different mirrors can do to the light and pictures... etc....

Few years ago, my sight had dropped suddenly. Four different specialists couldn't find any defects in my eyes. No operations can be done on my eyes and glasses can not help. Until MRI test has found a little tumer in the brain up of my nose. They suggested that this tumor may be doing pressure on my nerve from eyes to the brain and they suggested to make operation to get rid of it. I hesitated since I don't imagine that my scull will be broken in the operation. After their warning that I could be blind if I don't do that { reading and many hours using the computer are my life), I agreed to do the operation. Instead of opening the skull to reach the brain they did the operation through my nose. They removed the tumor but they damaged a very tiny thing is called pituitary Glands. The pituitary is a gland attached to the base of the brain which secretes hormones that govern the onset of puberty, sexual development of reproductive function.and sexual characteristic, mussels, hair, voice beside many other activities not related to me ( breast milk production, menstrual cycles, infertility, vaginal dryness, and loss of some female characteristics for women, growth hormones for children,...).Water levels in the body. Also this gland activate other gland functions. For example The pituitary secretes thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), which stimulates the thyroid gland to secrete hormones that affect body metabolism. .

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ [information extracted or sumerized from Medical Encyclopedia: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000343.htm and other resources]

The pituitary gland is a small structure that is located just below the brain. It is attached by a stalk to the hypothalamus, the area of the brain that controls its function.

The hormones secreted by the pituitary and their functions are:

- growth hormone (GH), which stimulates growth of tissues and bone

- thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), which stimulates the thyroid gland to secrete hormones that affect body metabolism

- adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), which stimulates the adrenal gland to secrete cortisol which helps to maintain blood pressure

- prolactin, which stimulates female breast development and milk production

- luteinizing hormone (LH), which controls sexual function in males and females

- follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which controls sexual function in males and females

- antidiuretic hormone (ADH), which controls water loss by the kidneys

- oxytocin, which stimulates contraction of the uterus during labor and milk release from the breasts.

Also the pituitary gland controls the release of FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone), which govern the onset of puberty, sexual development and reproductive function.

After the operation and loosing the pituitary glad, I have Hypopituitarism. Because the pituitary gland affects the other endocrine organs, effects of hypopituitarism may be gradual or sudden and dramatic. I gained weight(30 km), I become dehydrate my face hair stop growing ( I was happy for that), my voice become softer, frequently thirsty, frequently urine ...The extra weight (30 km) affect my heart pressure.

So they give me a hormone replacement therapy. I take tablets for Thyroxine, Cortisone.

As a caution of heart diseases, I have to take three medicine plus cholesterol tablets.

For not being dehydrate and to control myself and to not be wet and control my urine, I have to puff minirin nasal in my nose on the night and morning.

For edema in my feet (swallow feet), I have to take some tablets plus potassium supplements.

So I can not leave my place for long times. So I have to retire and sit before the computer many hours and shuttle between fridge to drink and Toilette .

All this because my tiny gland lost or damaged?.

I will explain it in seperate posting in series of postings to show the mircles in our body which can not be there by chance or evolution or big bang.

Sorry that they moved my post to "health talk". In my opinion it wasn't right decision.

The post about why I am Scientist but a believer in God. [i.e Science and belief]

The post about mircales in our body which can not justified by chance or Evolution hypothesis or by Big Bang Theory. Then it is related to Evolution and Intelligance Design arguments.

The example on the affect of my loosing or damaging the pituitary glad was given to stress why we have to believe that our body can not be by chance. How very tiny part in our brain "gland" affect our life.

Very good Kasm. I wil be sending you a PM. I too blieve in God and that Evolution doesn't work. Some people say that evolution and creationists can co-exist. But it just doesn't happen. You either believe in god, or evolution, which I always say doesn't hold the water. Too many holes  Hey nice article. It was great. I heard most of them before, and even use a few of those arguments in my debates. Keep up the good work.

so you say that you don't believe in evolution, and instead choose to believe in god, well there are many religions out there, who is to say that you aren't following the wrong one? I personally don't believe in a "god" as such, life may have been created by some extra terrestrial life form, we may even be a science experiment for some aliens somewhere. I don't think any god could sit back and let people who follow all his beliefs get shot and tortured and raped and things like that. If that is who god is, I don't want to believe in him........also I must say that your original post seemed to me to focus a lot more on your medical issues than god/religion/science

Im athiest.. I have no real religion, but i respect anyone that does and i say that you should go do what ever you think you should do. It makes no sense that someone talks you into being a christian if you don't even like it.. I'm pressured into it every day, but my backup excuse is, 'how come you, a christian are forcing me into beleiving your lord?' and then they back off. So go with what your heart tells you to, ignore everyone else, do what you think is right.

Like you I am also an atheist. Some members may not like this idea, but I dont want to hurt someone's sentiments. My explanation in not beleiving go is like this:

Who created the Universe? If its god, where does he live?

If someone does, but I dont beleive in second postulate of boundryless universe.

(First assumption of universe theory states that universe has a certain boundry, and all galaxies are spreading upto the end, when everything will collapse back once again to singularity, and give rise to big bang. Second assumption is that, universe will keep expanding and everything will be quantised, means all materials atoms etc. will be converted into photons and universe will keep expanding infinitely.)

Second, if we assume god lives outside universe shell, and able to control parameters inside, where does he stand, probably in yet another universe of his own. Which again will have a boundry and some other BIG god controlling his existence. This goes upto infinity.

Lets just consider about god at universe level 2, (we are at level1).

Now think about sub-sub atomic particles, leptons and quarks. Its hard to imagine, there wont be any life form on these moving rotating spherical wave particles, they follow similar thend to the solar system.

If we can move atoms to change their state of energy, so we are ultimately changing their fate. Because all we do, think depends on the effect of relative gravitation and state of energy.

If they consider us god, can we interact with them? help them if they are in misery? (let it be universe level -1)

The answer is no.

Likewise the god at universe level 1 cant interact with us. When we cry for his help he cant listen to us. We are here on our own. No rebirths no gods. We all are born with a timer when it approaces zero, we die.

So I dont believe in 'God'.

Nice one Ebula. Now let me show you some things. First off, god lives in universe level "1". There is no level two. We are here, just us, God, and anything else He may have created. No you consider the vast expanse of life. Consider everything around you. This computer that you type on was once something out in a rainforest, that ultimately came from a little organism?! Now wait. The theory states that we all came from a speck of protein. Ah ha! But wait, where did plants come from? :P Am I related to a tree? Maybe that hemlock out my window. Now you see the problem. One scientist says this, and another says that. We came from the Big Bang, no, aliens created us, still others say we have been around forever. Take a watch. Just curious, but would you say that the human body, and all the workings, and even all the world and it's wonders. Now, let me ask you, if you take a metal slab, and set it on the ground, you tell me, will it ever be a watch? I know the answer, and so do you. It is impossible. Now let me ask you this, if evolution is true, why can't metal evolve too? Why can trees evolve? But why if the world can be created by a simple act of nature, why aren't watches or technical things rolling out too? You think I am crazy huh? Take a look at evolution, and see whether it is any better, then the theories I just stated. There is a Creator, and I know His name, His son, and I know He created us. There is no way on this earth that evolution is true because just as you are sitting here today, something made all of use, the earth, and everything in it. I know it wasn't evolution.

Alright, its hard to beleive in new ideas. I know. I did not write this to harm anyone's intentions, but just my view. Nobody can or should try to change my perception of god if i dont beleive in it.

However, as Wild20 said

First off, god lives in universe level "1". There is no level two.

How can you say this? there is no level2.

This is taken from M$ encarta DVD 2005 for reference on expansion theory of universe:

Inflationary Theory, in cosmology, theory that proposes that the universe expanded very rapidly for a fraction of the first second of life after the big bang, the explosion at the beginning of the universe (see Big Bang Theory). The idea that the universe is expanding has long been one of the pillars of modern cosmology. The present rate of expansion seems to be fairly uniform, but inflationary theory proposes that the rate of expansion was much faster at the beginning of the universe.

The inflationary theory was developed in the 1970s to solve several mysteries still remaining in the universe as it was described by the big bang theory. In particular, it explains why the universe is expanding at approximately its current rate. It also explains why the universe appears so homogeneous, or uniform. Further, it explains why scientists have never detected magnetic monopoles (single north or south poles that are not connected to an opposite pole).

THE THEORY

The inflationary theory holds that very early in its life, the universe expanded much more rapidly than it now expands. This period of expansion started 1 × 10E-35 sec after the big bang and lasted only 1 × 10E-32 sec. During that brief interval, the universe expanded to be 1 × 10E50 times its previous size. The intense inflation then ended—still well within the first second of time. Then the universe assumed a rate of expansion much closer to that of the present.

In the inflationary theory, the observable universe began in a minuscule region of space. The universe was so compact that all parts of it could be in contact with each other. This allowed the universe to become very homogeneous. The inflationary period rapidly and evenly spread out this region, giving us the almost homogeneous universe we see today. This homogeneity of the universe may not seem apparent on a small scale, with planets, stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies adding matter in lumps. But on a larger scale, clusters of galaxies are spread out fairly evenly.

The inflationary theory also explains why the universe’s density is so close to the limit that determines whether the universe will expand forever or will eventually begin to contract. The universe’s outward expansion is propelled by the initial force of the big bang. If the universe is dense enough, the force of gravity may eventually overcome the universe’s expansion and start pulling matter in the universe back together. Cosmologists are still trying to find out how dense the universe is. The estimations fall very close to the dividing value between a universe that expands forever (an open universe) and a universe that eventually contracts (a closed universe) (I beleive in this!). The inflationary period in the theory would have expanded the universe just fast enough for it to reach the size that led to the estimated density of today’s universe.

The current version of the inflationary theory predicts that the density of the universe is very close to the value that divides the two possibilities for the future of the universe: expanding forever or eventually ending expansion and beginning to shrink. If scientists collect definitive evidence that the universe is “open,” or will expand forever, the inflationary theory would be proved false.

Which means, unless someone proves that universe is open, the theory of level-2 universe holds true. A manipulator cannot be a part of the system himself. So he has to sit outside of it or else he will modify himself. So god must be at level 2.

Any comments???

Second,

You talked about evolution. What is evolution/ Its a probability of something happening. A heap of molecules arranging themselves in a manner, that it becomes self-sustained or rather a lifeform, which can utilize energy to multiply itself.

We do it ourself out of probability. Noone else controlling it from level-2 universe. Even if the god trying to change position of galaxies, it renders little gravitational effect on us, totally harmless as long as we fall in a black hole suddenly created by god.

But one thing is for sure. He is not going to come here to help us, if we cry for his help. We have to follow Darwin's theoty of "survival of fittest' & not 'Go is great'

I personally believe that there is insufficient data on this subject.I believe that in the not so far distant future (say in the next ten to twenty thousand years), humans will perhaps learn to create universes of their own. Therefore will humans then be gods? To other humans, no - to those in the created universes, perhaps yes.It is possible that there is a god (in the sense - a being who created the universe) - it is also more than likely that if this is so, that god is little or nothing like what religious people believe 'him' to be.A god, if he exists, is probably a creature far beyond human understanding (not even necessarily much superior, but certainly very, very different). And perhaps god 'cares' for the universe (if 'he' is a creature even capable of caring, which is a HUMAN emotion, please note - we do not know that 'he' is capable of human emotions for certain). As I said, there is little data on the subject. To make definite statements in these conditions of darkness is the height of arrogance. There is no data, only postulation put in a positive, definite light by blind faith.Humility is the knowledge of ignorance, that one day leads us into the light of knowledge. Blind faith - the words 'I KNOW' are arrogant, and can only result in the perpetuation of ignorance. What are we, truly? - a little spark of life on a tiny rock dwarfed by the vastness of this universe. Let us not hold ourselves higher or greater than we are, voicing opinions beyond our understanding. The human race is here today, and perhaps it will be gone tomorrow. Or perhaps not. Who knows? All we can do is do our best to learn, to advance towards a distant perfection - to be fully worthy of this moment in which we exist.

This topic/discssion I must say was started with a very different tone and note however It is getting increasingly interesting with every post, now that indicates that we(the members) here at Xisto are the most intellectual kind of people around as compared to most other forums. Now getting back to the topic, Yeah I do believe in God and I know he exists somewhere though we may not understand his natre of existence as he might not be anything like us. We might as well be a part of some alien social experiment or something but doesnt that make the Aliens our God.. Just kidding. Necessarily I believe that there is an entity that takes care of everything that goes around and its way of operation is far beyond our comprehension. As for us all we are just bengs who have been granted intelligence by HIM. PEACE FOR ALL.

I don't think it should effect what you believe. I think it's great that you as a scientist, somebody that has learnt to except things for what they are in reality can be open to something that can not be proven. I don't think religion or belief is anything about science, or human nature. I don't think it can be jusified, anaylised or evaluated, because the truth I believe is that it's just to out of this world for us to understand or take into account, which is why I think it's fantastic that you as a highly skilled scientist can believe in something beyond the scientific realm. Personally I do believe in evolution, but not quite how it has been universally excepted. Either way, I'm sure if it was a 'God's' doings then he would see to it that we did not click onto what he/she/it was up to. Anyway, just wanted to say that it's really liberating, and really healthy. Nice one!

I dont believe in god (well.. not so much) but well, No ONE can asure god does exist, or it doesnt, no one have already seen him and came back to earth to tell us, or no one could explore the entire Universe and go outside of it to somewhere else, like for asure he didnt see any God. So well, i prefer to believe in the Science, that atleast explains the things logically, but religions... ummm... talk just about the miracles and divinity, that even people cant understand. If god would exist, why he havent yet interacted with us? he cant? I think we are here by our own. The theory of evolution may be true, a small atom could take energy multiplicate itself and transform into a molecule, then into a cel that would have life, and there could start all the microrganism life, and the rest is history. Even if the theory of Evolution would not be true, anthropologist have found rests of people that used to live millions of years before, how different they are in comparison to us... thats part of the Evolution.I know i dont give my clear idea away, but these are things no one can explain, already there are lots of topics relating to this and no one have reached to a final conclussion that everybody can accept. Who belive in God and sticks to that belief, its pure faith, and its ok, and who say god doesnt exist, is also faith but in science, nothing is asured, and maybe it will never be, but until then no one cant contradict any other.

Exactly - there's a lot we have to learn about the universe (and perhaps beyond) before we can say that we know 'for a fact' that there is (or is not) a god.Generally the data to date, and an examination of past 'dead' religions would tend to consign the belief in a god to myth, which will fade successively as humans learn more and more about the cosmos around them. For example, we (unlike our ancestors) no longer believe that the sun is a chariot drawn by the sun-god across the sky.. and why do we not believe this? Because we (unlike our ancestors) now know more or less exactly what the sun is, and even more or less how it works. And we know that it does not move across the sky! So the myth has dissolved in the light of knowledge.Myth falls back before knowledge. As each new bit of knowledge is brought forth, so religion takes a step back before it. A scientist might want to 'turn back the clock' and go back to being religious; well that is his right as a free being. But the march of time is forwards, not back - humans progress, myth recedes. It is the way of things.Note that I'm not saying there is no god - I do not have the data to support that statement, so I cannot make it. At the same time, I cannot say there is a god, either - for the exact same reason. And I CAN say that godly mythologies tend to fall back before the march of science, because that is the very history of the human race.

In SUPPORT of blind faith, I might say that whether a person who believes in a god is right or wrong, if that belief brings him happiness, if it helps him walk the dark valleys of life with a step that's sure and an eye that's bright, then who is to say that he is wrong to believe in a god? In this case, whether there really is a god or not is irrelevant - the belief, whether true or not, is good for him, and helps him lead a happier life, therefore, as far as he is concerned, it is indeed right for him.The intelligent man sees that people thousands of years from now may look upon our modern religions the way we today look upon the religions of ancient greece, for example - as pretty myths and fairy-tales. However, that same man, knowing this, might still choose to believe in a god nevertheless, simply because that belief is a comfort to him when he needs it. And seen in that light, the belief (whether true or not), is not wrong. After all, human life is so short. If something makes that little journey happier, does it matter if it be true or not?
