synapticflame 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 A friend of mine has made some glowing recommendations for an Open Source program called ABC. It avoids the hassles associated with a complex GUI by working instead with markup. My friend has used several other graphical notation editors and he claims that this has reduced his work and improved his experience when editing musical notation. It also has tools to automatically convert from ABC notation into MIDI Something for everyone I guess.

Millenium 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2009 I have MagicScore Maestro, it's easy to use, has a clear and user-friendly interface. I use the virtual piano, it has also a guitar board. You can either connect a midi device to your computer, start playing, and it will record the notation, or place notes and then play back the sheet music. Of course, you can export you notes and print them.
