  1. I think it's a hoot, mate! That Video clip including that guy boning a Japanese "Octo-*****" was weird .... None of the background or navigation elements put me off. Keep up the good work!
  2. Try Lily Pond! http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It should work on your system and it is FREE. It OUTPUTS to a PDF file: no conversion needed! Enjoy your new toy! Notice from rvalkass: Anything copied must be Quoted.
  3. Thanks, you guys! Yeah, that's my face under the Santa's Cap. My face has scared little children and small dogs before ... I'm used to that. I know the colors are Garish Christmas and the graphics need work. I've had no time lately to even hang out here in this wonderful forum - let alone keep mine updated. I think using SMF as a way to organize, and search through the freebies I find, clever. I will resist ever putting ads on this site. This site is not for profit. It is basically my personal resource for keeping track of a lot of the good stuff I dig up. I'd have trouble remembering the URLs and programs details for 2,400 items - and I hope to grow it larger day by day. I think it would be so tacky for "Santa" to come down your chimney with a hand out for "Donations" (even milk and cookies - never expect or request them) or tattooed all over with "Ads by Google". Thank You for the honest feedback guys!
  4. I have this not-for-profit domain I'm running: Software Santa! http://softwaresanta.com/ I started it almost 3 years ago to keep a list of free things suitable for sharing with the North American English speaking audience. Most things are Open Source - some are cross platform - all resources listed are free! It's my own personal Treasure Map to the internet and I refer to it whenever a friend needs good & inexpensive software. There are no Banner ads or links by Google - I'm not making a penny on this site! This site is my answer to the question: "If Santa Claus had a web site, what would it be like?" There is a even a section called "You be Santa Now" where you can exercise the spirit of Christmas Giving (FREE - of Course) on an everyday basis! http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ You can actually make a positive difference in the lives of others right from your chair and it costs nothing but a minute (if that) of your time! I've posted only a very few of my favorite topics - like "Free Money from the Feds" - in this forums' "Freebies" section already .... So, in the Spirit of Christmas Giving I invite you to look for some software or resources that YOU might find useful on my list: and Happy Holiday wishes to all of You! Oh, and as I've worked on it 3 years there ?may? be a few dead links by now: and if you find one I'd love it if you PLEASE told me about it here! Or, if there is something you need and can't find, please ask for it here: I delight in "Taking Requests" for "Presents". Here's hoping the site is as useful to you as it is to me! Oh, and there are 420 games (right now) already listed ... And the Domain even has a small Video Arcade for some mindless R&R .... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Be Welcomed! Namaste, Software Santa (AKA Sea Mac)
  5. Thank you for the Warm welcome. If you looked at my site then you saw I permit no advertising or spam on it. Just free things - about 2,300 things so far in nearly 3 years of working on it. It's my hobby and it's not a commercial site (IE I'm not making money on it). My site also has a small (cheesy?) arcade built in to it. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Everyone can play but you need to Register if you want to save your scores. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ If you DO register I'll be able to personally take requests for Software .... I'll dig around through my "Mega Sites" (Like over 300,000 cool FREE Open Source programs to be found over at Source Forge http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) and suggest programs for you. I know of millions of free programs and certainly haven't had time to post more than a fraction of them! That's why I'm here - to look through all of your suggestions and to share my own too. Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving!
  6. Thank you "The Simpleton". You certainly are an asset to our Community also: here since June and 1,001 posts already! When I post topics in the freebies section I'll always mention the Ubuntu equivalents - for your sake. You guys will find me almost exclusively hanging around in the freebies section. I just posted a massive list of FREE FPS Games there. 7. Yeah, I'll share. 10 Gigs of Cloud Space, for hosting Images and certain types of files, PLUS a genuine registered Domain Name, for $1.21 for the first year ($10 a year after that) ... years ago I put up an Illustrated Tutorial "How to" here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (Oh, I see the .info domains are only $1.11 for a year, today ... a bargain: since ad based hosting is included in that price!) I host some of my personal Wizard Works on this domain - if you have broadband internet here is a 46.9 megabyte AVI movie I got of the ENTIRE "California Screamin" roller coaster at California Adventure: seamac.info/cupboard/cinema/nowshowniascreamin.avi OR the Quick Time Movie Version for Mac Users 26.2 Megabytes seamac.info/cupboard/cinema/nowshowniascreamin.mov (Ad based hosting can't stick an ad in with your photos or movies ... sneaky .... ) I make special animated Graphics and host them myself on my own domains. I feed the Hummingbirds and photograph them: I photograph Fireworks too: I do my own fractal Animoshuns: I've got a Lot of Special things like that here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ My other 2 domains are http://sageseeds.info/ and http://softwaresanta.com/ I'll be glad to advise you if I can.
  8. I hope you're not a pogonophobe! Ho-ho-ho! I've heard 3 versions. The first is about a Norseman who feeds Spotted "Magic" mushrooms (Fly Agaric) to his reindeer - and has a few himself. Then they all pass out in a heap and hallucinate that they are flying around the world. (If any of these jokers are pedophiles I'm placing my money on this one.) Then there is a tale about a generous, sainted man named Nicholas who was Kindly towards the poor and downtrodden. I'm 90% this Santa. My Site has no advertising and is well stocked with links to Free (Mostly Open Source) Software and resources. When one of you asks for Software I'll dig down into my 'bag of holding' and pull good stuff up to share! Look at the other 2 topics I posted in already today - very good suggestions all. The last is really an observation by a smart guy named Chris Holt that "Santa Claus is the most successful open source project in history" His blog post is worth reading: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and starts off I'm either 10% or 100% this type of Santa - I'm sure 10% because my "Gift Giving" has absolutely NO Commercial interest in it for me at All! I'm not making a penny on Software Santa: that's the way it SHOULD Be! (I'm impoverished myself and this started off 3 years ago as my way of "Giving Presents" to all my friends because I had nothing with which to buy them the nice things I wanted to get them.) I think it would be so tacky for Santa to come down your chimney with his hand out for Donations, or tattooed all over with Ads by Google. My Idea is to faithfully execute my vision of "If Santa Claus had a web site: what would it be like?" for the benefit of the English speaking world. Thank you! You are correct: I'm here to share nice things with you all. I'm not here for Free hosting - if it looks viable I might post it as a "Present" someday - but I'm here to BE a very good member. I'm doing a little 'cross mining': I find nice 'presents' here and credit the original posters for the tip off (like this: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) or you all ask for things like a free AutoDesk CAD system or a decent Multi-Track Music Recorder and I already know where these things are and toss them on our growing heap of goodies. Share and Share alike! Nice to be here!
  9. Hello, I just signed up here this morning and this is my first post. I own 3 domains already and don't really need hosting yet. I'll be a regular over in the freebies forum. Free Items are my specialty over at my best domain "Software Santa".I get a kick out of playing Santa ... Namaste, Sea Mac
