Access To My Own Site I cant access my own site

Recommended Posts

Hi:Well, for the first time since I have been a member of Xisto, I cant load my site. (http://www.histology-world.com/). Is this something I should worry about? Or is this just a temporary glitch? Did I do something wrong? Are other people able to access it?Thanks!SunkistP.S. to BuffalloHelpI finally saw your signature line. Ooops, sorry!

As you have probably found out by now it was only temporary glitch. This happens to all hosts from time to time, even ones you pay for, so it's nothing to worry about. I must say, Xisto has been the most reliable host I have ever used and I have used a few paid ones along the way. For a free host their uptime is very, very good! Most free hosts are very unreliable.

I would agree to Avalon's statement for the some part, however, this time I disagree. I can see your site just fine, sunkist. Sometimes your ISP would do a server cycle and may take few minutes/hours to connect to every URL in the globe. Give some time, clean your cache and if you have cable/broadband modem turn the power off of that modem, wait 30 seconds and bring it back up as normal.

E-Sector,

I can see your Xisto site just fine. In fact you still have your default page up.

And your E-Sector.3w.se is loading just fine. Since it's a redirect service (I'm assuming) did you set your target URL correctly? The 3w.se link sends me to a page title

GameSector - Making Sense of Technology - PC, PS2, Xbox 360...

is that enough proof for you?

My Real adress is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

But it doesnot work.
3w.se is a redirect service.

That adress works fine for me, and I have typed in the adress correctly (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, you can look here to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, no of them works), E-Sector.3w.se works.

But it is Xisto wich not works. "Operation Timeout".

Help me. I have tried to acsess the site from different computers, but it doesnt work.

I can see the link you provided just fine. Web page titled "Startsida" right?Okay this is what I think it's going on. If you are from UK or Europe region there's another member that is having the same issue. It's not Xisto's server but somehow resident of UK cannot connect to servers in California, USA. And the same holds true for me because I know a website based in UK and I cannot seem to access the page. This is not based on any conclusive evidence but either the cache server is going through some kind of update/upgrade or a possibility of DoS attacks comes to my mind. The British service called NTL and BT are reporting that when times like this, use the proxy server service. On the side note, eBay is issuing the same recommendation.Stay tuned and see if this is region exclusive or something else.

lol you don't trust me that I can see your site, eh? Okay I'll include the screen shot of your site.

Click here (the picture will be removed in the future)

And I cannot see the site that is hosted in UK started from last night, too. And come to think of it Goosestaf said that he couldn't see his page for about 6~8 days. And that's the exact same time for me when I couldn't see the page that's hosted in U.K. And it's a webhosting server.

Oh! I forget to say that all other American7Canadian sites I have viewed work fine!

When I am accessing the site, a message is appearing on the left bottom in firefox (Operation Time Out).

And here you can see how it looks on Ie:
http://static.hugedomains.com/images/logo_huge_domains.gif

"Det gĺr inte att hitta server eller ett DNS-fel har uppstĺtt
Internet Explorer "

Wich means:

"Internet Explorer can't find a server or a DNS-error have begun"

(Sorry, but I am not so god at english... i am just 13)

Edit: The page doesnt work in Internet Explorer. Therefore, it is ugly...

Ok, so Americans cant view European sites? I trust you. But, what is this for error?

Who can fix it? Is it a problem with the traffic (Europe- America)? :P

First, I thougt that it was an error with my isp (telia) but they said that they not have blocked me, they said it was an error with my router.

But.. it is just Xisto sites that dont work. (the main site http://forums.xisto.com/ work, but not eg. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ), the page dont load.

Notice from jlhaslip:
editted to correct url. right bracket removed from url tag.
Works for me now.
