The Future Of Computer's Games

Recommended Posts

Hello, this topic could be in other subforums, but i want to talk about the hardware that is needed to stay in the line of new games, I know that with a computer we can do more thinks like a console (ps2, xbox, etc), but some people like me have a computer for only 2 things,1. Internet2. GamesSo, thinking in the cost of building a game ready computer, I think that at the moment (thinking that 64bit software is some far) is better to buy a console to play games, like a PS2 or the expected PS3, and a budget computer to other things, this way is cheaper, and i think better, because for some years you will have a game machine without virus/out to date components/bad drivers/ OS incompatibility/etc etc.....I read the PS3 spec in the games subforums, it will have a 3.0GHZ proccesor, also I read that the PS2 have a 300mhz and 4mb ram but the games of it could be compared with computer games (ex: PES4, etc). Please tell me your opinion, but i don't want to discuss that a pc is better because with it you can do more things ......bla..bla...bla....Andrescasta

im not sure i now aht you're asking here but console games are much more expensive..and if you really just buy all the right hardware for your computer im sure it will last more than a console.

I am computer gamer, and iam a bit tired of need to upgrade my video card, or processor one time per year, i am thinking in sell all the High cost part's of my computer like video card, extra ram, etc, and buy a console, so i agree to have a console to play games, and a computer to the other things....

Skynet....In my post I'm not telling that the PS3 is the best console, I know that the X-Box have impressive hard, and i know too that probable it will be cheaper than the PS3, the point is :if is better to have a dedicated device to play games, and other to do all other things, I think that yes, About the price of the games, i'm not sure how much it cost, a pc games are around U$S30, and PS2 games are around U$S45, so is not a important difference taking in mind that the ps2 games work perfectly with a PS2, and the PC games depend on the hardware you have!Other info to pay attention the X-BOX 2 will be at U$S300 and the PS3 U$S 400 (the first year)To don't need a Display, because yo could use your 29 + inches TV,I am very wrong with all this??andrecasta

I see, and I think yes. It would be better to have a console than use your computer to play game. Because some of "hard" game just make your computer slowed down. In fact game in some console game more cheaper that some PC game, even it's same title :(And also the best thing I like about console, you can play it on your big 29"inch flat screen tv :D other than your 14" CRT monitor on your computer :(

Is it possible to play multiplayer over the Internet on a console? I like playing mmorpgs with other people online so I lean more towards PCs, but I hear that consoles are getting better at integrating multiplayer functionality. The last console I owned was Nintendo 64 and as far as I knew it didn't have that capability.

Yes it is, even you can chat with some folks :DJust plug your xbox or ps 2 console to your modem and you're ready ^^, but I recommend to use broadband otherwise it would be slow. Altough I never tried it on ps 2, since I'm only have xbox at my home, but sometimes I play it when I go to my friend house, and I learned ps 2 can play multiplayer online.

All of you need to take in mind, that the technology appear first to help cientific activities, the high powerful and relative small computers were launched to satisfy the Space exploration (ex:NASA), engineering, medicine, etc etc etc.........

Also the Hollywood indrustry promote the DvD (a high quality format to sell their movies ), and most films require Ultra powerfull video cards to make special effects(ex: I remember the Quantum that had 32 VSA-100 chips ( 2 VSA-100 = 3dfx Voodoo5 5500))

So, when all this technology is made and is cheaper, then is inserted in all the devices that you want, for example a console , a mobile phone or a final user computer.

So, it is logical, that the new technology appears first in a computer than in a console, because most of the cientific activities that i mentioned are made with a computer,

So I think that if you want take the newest hardware, keep your computer, but if you want to have the best gaming experience buy a console.

It's hard to find the best hardware for the games you want, it depends on the game your going to play. If I where you, collect all those games you want and then look and the requirements from then you can decide which hardware you will be needed for which match all the games you have.

If you buy hardware for the new games and the next time you have new games buy another hardware that fits the requirement it will costs you a lot.

What game you would like to have?
