How To Make A Sig Rotator for people with multiple sigs

Hi,

I'm using the code above but it never displays the last image on my list and occasionaly nothing displays at all.

do I need to change something, or is it something to do with my host?

It's probably uour host. Make sure that it can support PHP. If not, you might need to change hosts. Also, make sure the URL to list.txt is correct. I got 404ed when going to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/.

Nice thing I like that sig rotator what lots of members in this forum uses, but I have an problem:

I made everything said in this topic:
1) Uploaded most of my sigs on dawiss.trap17.com
2) then made that index.php
3) I made an sig.png folder on my server and put there in that index.php
4) When I run it is says there is an error in:

and after this there is very long line with some kind of glitch words...

This is my code I put in index.php:

Then I put this code in my signature and it didn't show the image rotating ;):

So please help someone, because something isn't right ;)...

well I tell you what you did wrong in order to run any php script it has to be a seperate document meaning you have to put the code in and save it as sig.php then you would a comman in your script for it to activate the php document.and with what you did it won't run at all its one of those web design things i guess but get with me online and I tell you how to fix it.

the only think I can think is that you didn't make the folder remember make a new folder and call it sig.png.

i foudn thsi psted else where my saint michel and ive been trying it but i cant figure it out:

 

Today, I will show you how to make a sig rotator similar to mine (refresh a page with my post, and you will see a different sig each time). We will use the sig rotator to display random sigs here at Xisto.

  1. [*]Create a folder called sig.png

Actually, the folder can be called anything, but since we will be using the rotator here, it has to be called sig.png because Invision Power Board may not allow weird extensions. You can replace png in sig.png with any valid image extensions such as gif of jpg.

[*]Create a file called index.php

If you need help renaming a file to .php, post below. In the file, copy and paste the following code

trap doesnt allow png files if thats the problem "filetype not allowed"change the folder to .gif and your link to match I had that problem not sure if thats all your problem is since you gave a very detailed description of "it doesn't work"

SIG.PNG is actually a folder name. It is to trick the forum thinking that it's calling a PNG file but in reality SIG.PNG is a folder name and it contains index.php with the above coding. So naturally it executes without a hitch.Please try again. By the way, you could have replied to the Sig Rotator Tutorial instead of creating a new topic. Please refrain from that next time. All "like" posts and questions should be under the same and one topic. Merging.Also check to see if you have hotlink enabled. You need to disable it or allow direct URL link.
