ecker1 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2005 Download PHPNuke (https://www.phpnuke.org/) and unzip it into a directory. Now goto where your web server is installed (or web hosting ftp)!Create a folder and call it phpnuke. Now upload everything from the HTML folder into the phpnuke folder you created.Than go to the config file of phpnuke (\phpnuke\config.php)Ok now, if you have phpedit installed than this will be easier than using Notepad.Go to line 32 and you sould see this:$dbhost = "localhost";$dbuname = "root";$dbpass = "";$dbname = "nuke";$prefix = "nuke";$user_prefix = "nuke";$dbtype = "MySQL";If this is confusing, don't worry!Leave $dbhost = "localhost"; to how it is.For $dbuname = "root"; replace root with your Username for mySQL.For $dbpass = ""; put between the "" with your password for the user name. For $dbname = "nuke"; replace nuke with the database you want.Leave the rest the way it is unless you know what your doing! Now, go to your phpMyAdmin, select your database.SQL / Locate the nuke.sql (sql/nuke.sql) clic in 'go' to continue.Enjoy! zulfa7155 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2006 I never heard that I use notepad to edit the files and I never got a problem Me too, shouldn't be a problem really. Now i'm using Dreamweaver to edit the nuke-sites i'm developing, but sometimes, (when i need to make on-the-go adjustments away from my work station) I just use notepad. Yes it may be eye straining and confusing, but it works. Can you please elaborate on this matter psychiccyberfreak.
ntas 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2006 how can i make a portal in phpBB like php-nuke
savge17 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2006 Nice guide man, the only problem I have about using PHP nuke is it takes up so much space... kinda wastes all of it. I rather design my own website witch takes up only like 10% of my total space.
detportal 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2006 Why don't you guys use Joomla!?It looks better and has more support. There are also more mods and a larger community behind it. I'm planning to use Joomla! once I get my free hosting account here. Also, doesn't Xisto offer Fantastico or something similar? Doesn't THAT have php-nuke available for scriptable installation? Also as a question, Xisto DOES disable php safe mode, right? Most Content Management Systems like php-nuke need it to be disabled for stuff like sending mail, and pming other people. kdr_98 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2006 You can use Joomla here. There are several CMS pakkets you can install with Fantastico. They are easy to setup , you just need a manual to add some content. For testing you can also install something like xampp on your computer.Install the CMS pakket like described above, and test something before you put it online. You can also sync both sites , so you have a backup if something goes wrong.
