  1. First, start learning about web design. Then depending on your interest, i mean either you can start using different scripting languages like PHP/Perl. If you really want learn the programming then try Java/jsp. Here you will have jsp as scripting language but you will have power of JAVA. With Java you can do many things. There are many free development tools like Eclipse, Netbeans as IDE's. Free servers like Tomcare and free database like MySQL.. Or try ASP/.NET..... Also, there are thousands of tutorials on web, so start digging and learning Le me know if u want more info...

  5. So, you want to develop J2ME Application..Here is what you need to develop the J2ME application. You need Java IDE, it will make life easier and you will learne new stuff. Back to the point. IDE like free ones - Eclipse with mobile plugin, Netbeans 4.1. Then you also need Mobile tool kit, which is available from Java Sun mobile toolkit, Nokia toolkit etc. One you have this, you are ready to roll, as there are so many tutorials out there, you just have to goooooogled it.   8. EJB's are use to solve the complex business logic. And they do their job if you implement them properly but they also makes application more complex to use.So it comes with overheads.First step is: you have to decide whether you application needs ejb or not.The technologies you are going to use will be effiencient enough if you dont have that complexity in your applciation.Decide, before you use EJB, dont just start writing them.

So many advaced plugins are availables for normal users as well as for developers who might want to use firefox as development platform for web applications.Also, it is very secure compare to IE and other browsers.Try and you will like it..
