Hey guys,So I bought a domain and hosting at Xisto 2 days ago. Yesterday I logged into the cPanel changed the password for it and after that when i tried to load http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It says the following:"The connection has timed outThe server at zennized.net is taking too long to respond."So I tried different browser, also no luck then I tried my mobile phone (which isnt on my network) and it worked just fine.. I could even connect to the cPanel again..But on my laptop I cant.. I even went to a friend and checked there if the index would load, and it did.. so I'm geussing it must be my laptop..Anyone know how this might have happened?

Making Money Online Is Easy By Build A Website
Samleeuwenburg replied to Dehornos's topic in Business Forum
damn its funny how popular a thread like this can be, the title sells, even if you dont believe what the title says you still click the link just to see what he is writing about. and like someone already stated; build a one-page website that has tons of reviews about how great the secret is and why you should get it also dont forget to put tons of links to your paypall account with the lines " Only 2.99$ now!! " selling a secret that is obvious really..its like the question: Do you want the washingmachine ? or.. .. the mystery box ? -
Oh my god, have you guys even read about the mayan calender? or do you just watch some movie and documenatry about it and then see for yourself what you believe about it? the mayans were very good at watching the stars and thus very good at making accurate calenders, their year calender still runs smooth till this day without having to reset a day every 3 years like our calender has to. But the way they explained the movement of the stars is by telling it in stories. they tell the story about how the moon travels around the earth and the earth around the sun and ofcourse about the sun around the center of the milkyway. The main reason why scientist thought their great calender was strange is because they placed the end (/start) date way ahead of their civilisation, most cultures place dates on events in their own time (birth of a king, death of a king etc. ) but they placed the date based on the stars so yes it was a predictionbut their prediction was about the sun and the earth returning to the womb of the galaxy ( the center ) and thus being reborn (dying first).the real thing that will happen though and has been proven to happen is a bieutifull alignment of our star (the sun) and the center of the galaxy, And it is amazing that the mayans knew about this. The problem is, the media ( and most people really ) mix up mayan lore (world dying) with mayan facts (their calenders) while the truth is they are about the same thing, one is about symbolism the other mathematic.however they did also said several things in their mythology that cant be seen in the stars, that everytime this calender resets ( yes they said it will repeat so no they arent contradicting themselfs they just arent saying the world will end ) everytime it resets we will enter a new phase, last time this was the leap towards civilasation. (the dates match) and this time we will discover something that wil change the way we live forever. a new form of technology.and I myself see this last bit in computers technology super fast communication because of these.. and the peak of this technological revolution will be at that date..

I just saw this episode yesterday and i kinda get the feeling someone is sick at the south park studios since season 12. Its just not the same anymore, and this episode got my hopes up because it started so good with the pure facebook stuff then all the sudden stan gets sucked into facebook and the entire episode loses its charm.. im dissapointed in south park, but they still have it in the first half of the episode.

Yeah you have a point there, but I also must say whoever made it did a hell of a good job! Would be a shame to let it go to waste but then again whats the point? especially with the forum being a totally different layout then the awesome flash intro. It is however a great improvement in comparison with the old front page that looked like some site that just buys off random domains and then blogs it with loads of ads. all in all a setup option for the birthday would be great.. even better just send it and add a link if you want to disable it. so that if people dont like to get a happy birthday in their mailbox won't be bothered again.

How Can Signing Time Help Your Children? signing time
Samleeuwenburg replied to house5180's topic in General Discussion
kids have the amazing gift of taking information in like a sponge!! why on earth would you think they need dvds and singing to help them with that?? if you just talk to your kid once in a while there should be no problem. the only real reason for this product would be for parents that put their kids in the living room lock the door and go do something for themselfs but still want their kids to learn a language. OR children with a learning disorder or any other disorder. If you want to learn your kids how to sing however, dont buy something like this.. just learn them real music. what happened to singalongs with Queens "I want to ride my bicycle" ?? bottom line. if you want them to sing. let them sing Music, if you want them to learn a language talk to them in that language. otherwise u just wasted alot of money plus learning other languages is allways hard but not for a kid. i have a little brother 14 years younger then me, and watched his progress in language firsthand and media is the real teacher today. I myself learned english through games and the net. but tv will do the same thing he watches english shows with subtitles so they learn to read faster and learn the meaning of the words. but a show that emphasises on learning the language is lame for children.. they just want a good show. -
even if it is a good idea I still dont like it. Its a good idea in the sense that indeed you get back to that site, but for me and I can say this for other people too it also annoys you as spam. my email is for my school/work too, I do care if i get useless emails. and yes other sites do this too but it also made me cancel my account there. if wasn't doing anything on that site in the first place for a while it has its reasons. however, the idea of getting a happy birthday is a good thing. you can send a message to the inbox on your Xisto account so your mailbox doesnt get spammed ( since the meaning of spam is unwanted messages to me and you cant decide that for anyone if its wanted or not )

Producer, Dj Or Digital Musician Any On Trap17?
Samleeuwenburg replied to Samleeuwenburg's topic in Software
Yes the hardest part about it is that if you want a real proffesional sound you'll really need the money for equipment, a analog synth allways beats an digital one And you thought you was gonna be a music prodigy hehe, ah we all have dreams at that age. -
Are there any Producers or DJs on Xisto?? Im wondering what music you make and what software you use to make it. I use Ableton Live in combination with Reason for its instruments, here is something I made with it a long time ago: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

first of all thanks alot for helping out, I don't really get what this means though.. Does this mean every page I use the GET function is unsafe? How can I fix this? Because I still want to use the get function so you can bookmark the page or link it. For example when u click on a quote it uses it's id to load the right quote from the database with the get function

I object you make such use of my name like that. no but seriously, I don't see how a profile site like facebook/myspace is any easier then something like maffiawars ( unless you take myspace as an example, Toms got some work to do eh? ) well if you start out small and indeed not too fancy it might just make something great. the twitter concept is also easier then pie right? you just have to think of something like that I geuss thats the hardest part.. anyways alter ego give me a link once you made something so I can sneak a peek!

Hey all, I have only recently joined but since this is such a good forum and it has helped me alot already, I decided i should post a tutorial about something I know. The reason I'm making this tutorial is because while I was looking how to make a browse function, all I found was pieces of code with explanation but that didn't really show step by step how the code was build up (starting from the core, and then adding functions). I believe that if you learn the core of a technique you not only understand it alot better but you also are able to adjust it easily. Now before starting off: the first bits are about making a table in a MySQL database and entering data into it, I am assuming you know how to do this.but first make a new page called " results.php " and start off by creating connecting to the database: <?php$host = "localhost";$user = "your username";$pass = "your password";$db = "your database";$ms = mysql_pconnect($host, $user, $pass);if ( !$ms ){echo "Error connecting to database.\n";}mysql_select_db($db);?> then lets make a new table that will contain our data, I used a blog as an example (without the post itself; we won't need it) <?phpmysql_query(" CREATE TABLE blog ( title VARCHAR(30), detail VARCHAr(30), writer VARCHAR(30))"); ?> *you can just copy and paste this into your " results.php " but if you type it yourself you learn more )I assume you know how to enter data into your table, use PHPmyAdmin, PHP or SQLyog whatever you prefer. Just make sure you enter enough so you can test your browse page later on ( 13 or 16 should be enough )Let's go back to our results.php, at the very top of the page you should still have your code that connects to the database.now lets make our page echo out all the data from our table: lets make a query and we will order our results by the name of the post $blogquery = mysql_query (" SELECT * FROM blog ORDER BY title DESC " ); then we can use the "while" function in php to echo out the results while there are more left // mysql_fetch_array is fetching the results from our $blogquery and putting it into a new associative array variable called $rowwhile ($row = mysql_fetch_array($blogquery)) {// then we echo out the rows contentsecho "<p>".$row['title']."<br />".$row['detail']."<br />".$row['writer']."<br /><br /></p>"; } Now save and run the page. (make sure you put the above code in between <?php and ?> tags) This should echo out all the results of our table and around this we will be building our script. We will need buttons so the user can tell our page where to go but, where should they go to?they will go to the same page but they will carry a variable with them. This is actually a very handy method and you see it all over the weblinks like: .com/php?q=searchthisbaby use it. and we will do the same but it will need a variable to work withput these above our $blogquery var $pageback = 1;$pagenext = 1; put the links on the bottom of the page echo " <a href=\"$PHP_SELF?page=$pageback\">Back</a> - ";echo " <a href=\"$PHP_SELF?page=$pagenext\">Next</a> "; Save and run to see whats happening, click the next and back links they are still doing nothing yet. but the link in the browser is changing.it is sending a variable to the link of the page (results?page=1 and we can do something with that variable, we can get it. above our other variables type the following line (it gets the variable from the link and puts it in a new one) $page = $_GET['page']; now we will need a way to limit our results, we don't want 16 posts when we load the page we can do this by changing the line from our $blogquery into: $blogquery = mysql_query (" SELECT * FROM blog ORDER BY title DESC LIMIT $key, $amount " ); It now has the a new part "LIMIT $key, $amount" the $key means where to start, and the $amount is how many from that point. This won't work if we don't set these variables so below our $page and above our &pagenext put the following: $amount = 5;$key = 0; now save and test the page, this is starting to look more like it. Think about it we have 2 buttons each can control a variable we also have a variable to tell us what posts we want to see and how much. A little math should do the trick right?if we set a variable let's say $i = 1; and we make our pagenext into pagenext = i + 1 we should then be able to get to results.php?page=3 right?well it isnt that simple if you load the page for the first time the $page variable is empty. we need a way to keep on incrementing our $page in the link when we press next and the opposite for when we press back.here is how I did it (maybe not the best of ways but I am still a beginner myself) $amount = 5;// I check if this is the first time i load this page, if it is... if ($page <= 0) {// if it is I set the page number to 1, and my counter $i to 2 the key is 0 because databases count the first entry as 0 $page = 1; $i = $page + 1; $key = 0; } else {// if it isnt the first time I load the page the page number is already set and I only set the counter and the key $i = $page + 1; $key = $page * $amount - $amount;}// then I change our next link variable to match counter our variable$pageback = 1;$pagenext = $i; Go check it out! our next button can now easily reach ?page=20 ,( the reason why our $key is " page * 5 - 5 " is because if we press next to view results 15 to 20 for example we need to set our key to 15. page 4 * 5 - 5 = right, 15 )this doesnt mean we are finished yet we still need to make our back button work. This is easy though, in our " else " statement we can put another counter that does the opposite of $i lets call it $ii else { $i = $page + 1; $ii = $page - 1; $key = $page * $amount - $amount; }// and change our back button variable too$pageback = $ii;} Check to see if it works. there is still a little problem with pressing back on the first page: its useless. We can now brush up things by making sure the back button doesnt show if your on the first page, put an if statement before it like this: // if we are on page 2 or higher, echo our back buttonif ($page >= 2) { echo " <a href=\"$PHP_SELF?page=$pageback\">Back</a> - ";} You can now add all sorts of things, you can echo out the page you're on at the bottom of the screen, just echo out $page, or you can even put up things like: 10 - 15 results. but the basic mechanics are build now. one more thing might be usefull. The next button now goes on and on, lets stop that.Make a new variable named counter above our $blogquery and name it $counter, set the value to 0. Then in our While function add one to it, this adds one to it everytime a result is echoed. while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($blogquery)) {$counter ++;echo "<p>".$row['title']."<br />".$row['detail']."<br />".$row['writer']."<br /><br /></p>"; } Then change the next link to this: if ($counter < 1) { echo " No more results available ";} else { echo " <a href=\"$PHP_SELF?page=$pagenext\">Next</a> "; } That should do the trick. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial it's first I ever made, and I mainly hope you learned something new..If i get good replies I will probably make more of them. but till then Thanks for reading

thanks for your reply, the only reason I am building this site is to learn php. In September I am going to attend a new school focussing on game / application programming but in order to join I have to show ( prove ) I am really into it. So they asked to make an online app with php and mysql see : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ << what i am working on. I am just going to build more functions as I learn more php. But before I make it any more complicated I really want to be able to change the design easily for the presentation. Doing this in the end would be alot harder. Things I have planned on adding are: profile system with login system, rating, search with sort by rating etc. Will this method be good for that?

Ok so here is my final result, I hope it's error free!Layout.php <html><head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mycss.css"><title>Zennized</title></head><body><div id="allcontent"><div id="header"></div><div id="menu"></div><div id="maincontent"> index.php <?php require("layout.php"); ?>my content<?php require("layout2.php"); ?> Finally, layout2.php </div></div></body></html> Thank you guys for all the help!

the body before the head tag must have mixed up because I'm posting all of this from my iPhone ( doesn't always work so smooth ). Right now I have removed the double HTML and body tags and also put the content div inside the layout .php didn't even close the tag. I think it does it automaticly? Strange but it works. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ < progress so far ( try to ignore my bad taste ). The design works, it's all in one css and it's easy to edit for every page. Perfect!! After this I'll make a different php file for each segment ( like web_designer said ) cause the css file im using now is getting pretty unorganized very quickly! Thanks for the replies!!

Hey guys,Ive been pondering around with different ways of doing this but it seems i must be missing something, there must be an easier way.here is what I want to do: I got an mydesign.css file this contains the following custom divs: -header ( huge banner at the top, logo kinda way) -menu ( small height with the items next to each other: home - pictures - more - more - even more )-content ( pretty obvious ) now here is how I do it now: Index.php <html> <body><head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mydesign.css"> </head><?php require("layout.php"); ?><div id="content">my text and titles go here</div></html> </body> layout.php <html><head> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mydesign.css"> </head><body><div id="header">logo </div><div id="menu">home - pictures - more - more </div></body></html> This way i dont have to rebuild the menu and overal background design etc. but I still have to build the main window that holds the content everytime i build a pageisnt there a way to include ALL my css desing into one php / html file? well what I really want to know is: how do most website do this? how do they use their css and layout designs to be included on every page? Thanks alot for all your replies

Can't Figure Out Cpanels File Manager
Samleeuwenburg replied to Samleeuwenburg's topic in Web Hosting Support
already tried that, even tried making a index.php. Instead of html. It does nothing  am I doing something wrong here?
