Well, according to me Xisto is the best service available at this point of time. Now, this is my point of view..may not be of everyone else! The reason for which I like it is..that it has everything original in it! Becasue the rules are such in which everyone has to write there own words and the credit system gives you credits on the amount of text you type in & not on the no. of posts...You'll find a lot of places where people just type one-liners but according to me that is bad! what happens because of one-liners...people wont understand you point..what exactly you want to say, this can cause things to flame..where people start getting aggressive...but over here...everything is calm and people enjoy typing long tutorials and topics..this gives them extra credits. Above was the reason why I like the community & now the webhosting : I joined few months back and the uptime has been always good! There are hardly any downtimes, there was one major as the guy has mentioned but it was not of two days..it came back in 1 day itself. Ok! First of all, You didnt tell us..what exactly you doing, which is preventing you from not logging into FTP...just tell us the steps..dont give the pwd. (Common sense) Secondly, If you are able to login to CPANEL than most probably you are typing the wrong ftp address. Thirdly, even if all things are fine but still you are not able to access FTP then please use http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Finally, If possible then please provide us with detailed information..so that people can solve your problem.

hey Plenoptic! Now, I am talking about a business Idea..which is like a framework or you can say a design of house on papers..but still has to built. My main Idea was to introduce a service which can offer free domain names but I never said that it will only offer free domain names and wont charge anything or wont have diff. offers. Till this time, we have discuessed about giving away domain names for free..but what about giving domain names for a charge along with webhosting...surely at a competitive rates...Like, I said in an example in my earlier posts : So, in the above example..there is person who is not happy with the Xisto's webhosting features..for e.g. 150 MB webspace...but there are lots of people who are happy with 20 MB webspace as well...there are some who can manage within 10 MB of space (like me), so why not make use of those potential customers by offering them a domain name at a certain price along with webspace of say 10 MB without ads or anything like that. Also if we take your example of 4000 domains you assumed the price of 6$ each! But my dear friend you are missing a fact here..that there are companies who are giving away domains for less than 3$ and some are giving for slightly more than 2$...and if there will be bulk purchasing than the amount will certainly go down...expected so the cost will become somewhat around 8000$ or 8500$...Now, I will have to say that I am not sure what Xisto is earning with the ads...but certainly that is OK if they will offer DOMAINS for sale and domains for free! both! :Edit: I've found a link which explains the benefit of a domain name. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Now, what are you thinking OpaQue

Now, as you are confused about having more website or having one big website in a package..let me clear you some of the things so that you can see what I am looking at :DWhat will happen if Xisto will start such a new website..A new forum will start and that will be having diff. discussions and due to which there will be lots of unique webpages and then the admins will be able to place ads on those pages.Because of reputation of Xisto & Xisto...people will go to those pages and will click on those ads and which will give them money. (You can see the results of gfxtrap.com..it is not officially launched yet)Now, the reason for having unique pages is that some big pay-per-click program companies...like google adsence, chitika...they allow limited no. of ads on the page...so it will be nice to have more pages...having diff. ads targeted towards them.And the biggest reason of having a diff. website is that it gives you another way of earning money....You'll find that there are lots of people who are not happy with the features of Xisto's webhosting (no offence, but that is true, Not in my case though)..so they may not like to post at Xisto for hosting but may like to post on that website for a free domain...so, the customer area will increase.And it will be foolish...if they decide to give free domain name under Xisto..because that will lower down there earnings. And also this business idea will become a flop :DNow, people may say that big companies like Yahoo! why dont they have diff. website..why are they only running on there Yahoo domain name...then I'll say that my dear friend..that is not true...Yahoo has another service..flickr.com, they have tie-ups with diff. companies like BT, SBC to provide internet services...they are into lots of things and which I dont know either!I hope you got my point More websites=more money.

I have seen some websites and I am already having a .Info domain with such service. So, The point I was making is that It will be great if Xisto Corp. Opens up a new website in which they'll offer Free TOP LEVEL DOMAINS and for that members will have to maintain credits..Just like we do for our webhosting.And now if you notice the topic description..it says it will be a success..FOR XISTO CORP . You may ask me why? The reason is that everyone looks for reliability...most of us are here because we want a host which offers great features and is realiable and that is what Xisto is offering us and using the market reputation of Xisto, Xisto...it will be easy for Xisto to earn new members.I can guarentee that most of the members will go to that from here only.Now, this is just an idea and what I think should be a success for Xisto...it depends on OPAQUE to actually apply it.What will be the benefit of this?Xisto corporation will become final destination for all those people who are looking for there website :1. I didnt know that there are so many websites who are giving away domains for free!I recently came to know about one of such website...http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is a new forum and offers INFO/COM/NET/ORG domains for free and that too without any ADS. They require posting in the forum but have a really good point system..due to which earning points is very easy.They are fairly new so they dont have many topics or you may say sections...but they do have interesting information over there.I've got a domain recently and I'll be launching my website soon!The website is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and this you can go and register over there.if you wish to help me then while signing up you can put the refferal name as "mayank" (sans quotes)

Zoto offers you 2 GB of space and that is a lot! and gives you the option of earning more space by inviting your friends...I.e. referrals. 1 refferal=100 MB. I am using it perosnally and find it really good..because they allow you to put tags and that is a good option. You can also try flicker...that is also a good service...but there free account is not that good! they offer very less space and due to which I am using ZOTO

I think they give it for free to those people who Join RHCE i.e. Red Hat Certified Engineer. They give away the latest enterprise edition with that...My friend got one! But you dont get any support! ask me why?The reason is simple...You yourself become RHCE and they are the ones who give support to other people.

Hey that's a good one!I was expecting google in the top list and didnt expect 2 microsoft products in the worst :DWhatever, I have to agree that windows ME was a bad product...I used to crash and what not! I dont know why people use it still, it is better to use windows 98!

First of all, I will tell you guyz why I dont sleep in night! (Not everynight...& you stop thinking bad ), the reason for that is, that my ISP has 1 gb of download limit and gives free download between odd hours i.e. from 2 A.M. till 8 A.m. So, I complete all my downloading during that time period..just like today.Secondly, I normally use coffee to keep myself awake and when it becomes very difficult for me..I plugin my headsets and then I listen to enigma!And, even after that if my head refuses to cooporate with me..then I start roaming all over in the house...you know a small walk!

Well, I think the question should have been a bit diff., How about this :Which company assembles in the best manner and gives good support? :DYes! that is correct..none of the mentioned companies over here, create laptops of their own, they are made by diff. small companies and they apply the logo of these big giants.What!, my computer says made in ch***! No, I dont want that! This is the responce, which I used to get from most of the people, when I used to troubleshoot the laptops for HP, Then I used to explain then..that it is just to cut the cost and nothing else, what we are giving you is service but the product is made by a diff. company, you bought it from HP so HP will take care of any problems you face with this.This is what happens with all these companies...they hier small companies to do there work.I'll give you one example...I'm sure most of them must be knowing this, but still :Who had heard the name of lenovo! (a big giant in pc manufacturing..Yes they create the pc's and laptops on their own, mostly the screens! Not like the other companies, who dont manufacture anything of their own ) and then suddenly they came into the picture, when they purchased the pc division of IBM and because "thinkpad" was such a good brand name, they (lenovo) decided to keep it.So, technically this question is wrong but in general it is right as well! (hah! after all this typing...I am saying this question is right )One more thing...Now that IBM pc division is with Lenovo..so IBM must be changed to LENOVO in the poll as well.anyways...my vote goes to HP...because I've worked for them
