Sci-fi Genre, Is It Dead? Has the space games time passed?
Hakkera posted a topic in Computer Gaming
Does anyone actually play these games anymore? I sitll love a game of Freelancer, Darkstar One or X3. Am I the only one around that enjoys these? I was just wondering. -
Okay, I'd take GTA San Andreas, and I'd like to live in Freelancer. Most games wouldnt be bad though, because there is a RESPAWN button I'd hate to live in a game like Pong or tetris; I'd die of boredom.

For me, it's all about BF 2142, and he new C&C Game, I cannot wait for either, but I hope 2142 is actually a decent game.

Poll Vote On Popular Online Games Which Online Game Do You Perfer?
Hakkera replied to cgrim29588's topic in Computer Gaming
Everyone has their own opinion here, and I dont think that any of those games are really great online games, with the exception of BF 2, WoW and CSS (I dont like it, but can accept that it is a good online game) But Doom? Halo? they were shocking games for online play, maybe add EVE, and some other MMORPGs -
I used to play this for a while. Then the fact that you could not re-assign controls really bugged me, but it is a very nice game. A mix of BF and CS, I liked it. It does look like Freeware in the modern gaming times though. Still, it is free, and it is worth a look.

That is one of the things I like about it, the freedom to do what you want when you want to. Vice City was possibly one of the best of the series, It did just feel so very authentic.

I have actually only played the game once, with my girlfriend, and I was really quite bad! Nowadays I stick to squash and football.

What's Your Favorite Way To Start Your Day? ...
Hakkera replied to Milovoriel's topic in General Discussion
I think that we cann all agree that we love to sleep. You say you stay awake for long periods of time, how is that actually possible? Don't you just keel over and hit the sack? I would go insane without my sleep! I like being as lazy as I am! I wouldnt want it any other way! But anyway, what time-ish do you guys get up. For me it varies, but it's normally 30 mins before I have to be somewhere (including journey time) It actually gives me about 10 minutes to get from bed stage to out of the house stage. -
Teach Yourself Martial Arts? Is It Really Possible?
Hakkera replied to Webber's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I think we are agreed, it is a very difficult thing to do, nigh impossible. I'd say learning a martial art with aid is quite challenging, and without, you're more or less dead in the water. On another note, people that learn from these sessions, only normally want to fight, or want to learn how to do specific things, they are not interested in the whole idea, and even less in the honour of it all. -

Humm.. I am really bad in mornings, My alarm normally goes off, it gets put on snooze a few times. Then I get up fast, as I am usually late, sling on some clothes, grab a drink and get down to the train station pronto. I don't eat in the mornings; I prefer to sleep! -
Online feature has always been something that the GTA series has been lacking, but it would be such a massive thing to do, with San Andreas that engine is at its peak, and there just wouldn't be the room for a full online play option, I would not want to turn GTA into an RPG, as I hate them, and I don't think it would be fair to turn GTA into one of these. It would also take a lot of time and effort of Rockstar's part to maintain a GTA Online game. Do-able though. IF anyone mentions MMORPG. I will moan, the city sizes will need to be huge, and there would need to be a vast number of servers, at present, Rockstar really couldn't handle that. And.. Well, I cant be bothered to go into the rest of it right here. How about A GTA Sub section?

Hi there,I recently bought a new sound system, its a logitech 5.1 system, and it's really good, and has been working without a hitch until I installed new audio drivers, now the outputs are messed up, what should be rear left comes out the fron right, and the rear right is now the sub. Indeed the rear speakers arent used at all. My soundcard is a realtek onboard thing, I dont know the exact details, but it came with an ABIT AA8 Duramax motherboard. Any ideas anyone?

This my sound like a bit of a noob question, but it has always occured to me. On screen, we get hexadecimal code, but the processor doesnt understand that right? So, if I make a program in Hex, would I have to compile it, I understnad that Hex is shorthand binary, but would I?

Hmm, well, I don't see why it is to young to start drinking. But if you are getting drunk every weekend and stuff, I don't think that is right either. I am 16, I drink, I have sex, I smoke. I'm not saying that to brag or anything. But I do them all for reasons. I drink because I love the taste of certain drinks, I never drink to get pissed anymore. I did that a few times, and there is very little point. I still partake in the occasional drinking contest, but really, nothing regular.I guess like all things, it is a case of moderation, too much alcohol is very bad for you. I avoid drinking a lot on week nights, and maybe drink more on weekends, but even then I will only drink about 5 Shots of Jack Daniels, and about 3-4 beers. Don't use this a guide as it all differs from person to person. But after that, I can still do most things to a suitable level. For example, I can still walk, talk properly. I wouldn't drink to get drunk at any age. But if you are drinking with friends, and because you like the taste, then there really isn't a problem at 15. Personally I think the law fro drinking should be lowered to 16. I think it most absurd that you can go and die for your country at 16, and not stroll into a pub and get a beer.

OKay okay, I maybe going off on a bit of a tangent here, but I have always wondered some things.I am short sighted, I have never had my eyes tested, but I can tell that I am. I should probably go over to this opticians sometime soon, and I have been planning it, but I have never got around to doing it. I was wondering about contact lenses, because the idea of glasses doesn't really appeal to me, infact its probably one of th reasons that I dont go to the opticians. I do care about my image, and I think without spending a tonne on nice deesigner glasses, I might look like a fool. On the other hand though, I'm not totally keen on putting my finger in my eye every morning. What is it like to wear them? Does it always feel like you have something in your eye? Do you get used to it? Does it hurt to put them in/take them out? Thanks

I do actually agree with you on the 'Macho carp' that you so described, I think that modern society if anything is becoming 'too' equal on women. Men are now nurses, and other previously feminine jobs, and it's time we could express our sensitive side. lol. But yeah, if you have a diverse group, it could really be of benefit to the kids. I hope it all goes well!

Well well well, this all seems to be getting pretty damn well heated. I live in the UK, and that's what this is about right? I also smoke, not chain smoke, but I do smoke. I enjoy smoking when I am out and about, as I don't want to smoke when I am in my house as it would stink it out. I think the idea of smoking in pubs is a good one, I do go to pubs, and I do smoke there. I enjoy it as it is part of the general atmosphere of being in a pub. Pubs would loose so very much business if they did not allow smoking as it is the reason that many people do go to pubs. I dont think, ooh, lets go to the pub for a drink, and a drink alone, I could have that at my house. I go to the pub and have a drink, a smoke, listen to some music in the background, and have a chat with my mates. I think that it all contributes to the atmosphere of a pub; take one element out of the equation, and it is imbalanced, you see. I do however think that smoking should be confined to certain areas, like pubs, smoking in coffee houses, resterants, places where it isn't part of the atmosphere, like family arenas, or where food is being consumed etc. should be off limits to smokers.

Hmm. I think Zidane stopping was a good thing, I think it is a bad thing to watch any athete decline publicly, so by the end of their career, they just play like any other player. Everyone remembers them when they are at the end of their career, if you leave when you are still a capable player, then you will be well remembered.

Hmm, since we havent actually come up with anything yet. I reccomend one thing: Turn up on the day with one red rose, either that or twelve. You could take her out to a fancy dress evening, girls love dressing up, all you have to do is don a suit and you'll be fine. Don't forget a corsage for her though.

Damn right its the best series around. I am making a TC mod for GTASA, If I get hosting from T17, you guys can have a look. If anyone wants to help out, drop me a mail.

pffff.. I could be here all night.Henry, Ronaldinho, yes, great players, Ronaldo, not so much anymore, but still, yes, he has to be up there. However, Pele? Ferenc Puskas? Zico? Di Stefano? Eusebio? Garrinacha? and Maradona?! They HAVE to be in there, For me, it is either Pele (Since we are going on the pissing contest of names, Edson Arantes do Nascimento) Diego Armando Maradona, or Zico (Artur Antunes de Coimbra) the latter is in my opinion, the greatest player to never have won a world cup.

Hmm, shopping for women is never an easy thing. If you want a special present, personally, I recommend jewellery. Go for something that she hasnt got one of. Say, if she has a really nice Tiffany necklace, then don't buy her another. Bracelets are always good, as are Rings, so long as you know your girls finger size. Jewellery is great, because you can spend a lot of money on it, or a little money on it. If it is a special present, then spend quite a bit of money on her. Chocolates are another idea, but if you want a special gift, your gonna need a tonne of them.Don't blow the bank too much though, remember you have your 1 Year anniversary coming up in four months. And that is important.

haha, Hmm, an interesting one this, I have just been at a private school for 5 years, and PDAs were strictly forbidden. I mean anything, holding hands, a peck on the cheek, anything at at all was to be kept out of school. Violating this was a seriously punishable offence. I am now at a state college, where the total opposite is true, there are more or less no rules. There are no real discipliary measures other than to boot the offender out of college. My girlfriend and I have both been to the same school and are now at the same college. the amount of PDAs that we give each other has not changed at all. We are not the kind of couple who stand in the middle of corridors pulling. I think that is quite a vulgar thing. Yesterday I just went out of a Geography class and saw two people kissing full on. I certianly didn't expect it, and didn't really want to see it either. So I can understand and sympathize with the people who dislike seeing it. However, we do walk round with our arms round each other or holding hands. I give her a kiss goodbye on the lips when we go to our own lessons. But there is nothing more than that. We save all the full on stuff for out of school. I'm no exhibitionist! My point is, like all laws, people will disobey them if they want to, there is no point making PDAs illegal and being strict upon it, but it is something that should be frowned upon if done in excess.
