I'm currently playing Country Story on facebook. It's a great game by Playfish. The graphics are really cute and you get quests every level. If anyone hasn't heard of Playfish, you should go check out their games. I've played a couple of them (Pet Society, Restaurant City, Country Story) so far and have found them pretty good.I used to play mafia wars but I got bored after a while. It does give you the option to post many things to your wall but I don't think that's a problem. If you're annoyed by the news feed, there's a Hide button at the top right corner of the post. You can choose to hide either all the posts from that particular application or hide that friend entirely. It's undo-able so if you change your mind later, you can just scroll to the bottom of the page and click on 'Edit Options' to add the application/friends' news feed back.

It's a simple diet and if it takes only one week for it to work, I'd say it's a pretty good diet. Maybe I'll introduce this to friends who want to lose weight

Is this the banana diet you're referring to? http://morningbanana.com/ I've never tried it before but I did go on a smoothie diet once and most of the smoothies were made with bananas. It's very easy to get full with bananas. My smoothies usually included 2 bananas (and 1 serving of some other fruit) and that was enough for an entire meal. I think if you stuff yourself with bananas in the morning, you'd have a smaller appetite later in the day. Plus, if you eat like most people do, a bunch of bananas in the morning would be healthier than what you'd usually have. I'm not sure if there are any facts supporting this but when I eat just before sleeping, I don't sleep as well and my stomach feels weird in the morning. If the quality of sleep is in fact affected by eating before you sleep, it would make sense to eat your dinner before 8pm as well as sleep before 12 am since like you said, lack of sleep is linked to obesity. I won't be giving this a try because I don't want to lose anymore weight :x but it's an interesting read anyway.

These Nigerian scams are everywhere. There was an article in the local paper a while back on these scams too and some guy actually got cheated of his life savings. I can't seem to find the article anywhere online though. I don't understand how anyone can fall for these scams...those e-mails look so fake. Here are some other local articles on Nigerian scams: http://news.asiaone.com/news/AsiaOne%20News1021-95188.html http://digital.asiaone.com/digital/news/Story/1106-98663.html http://digital.asiaone.com/digital/news/Story/A1Story20071223-42188.html It seems they'll stoop to anything. I also found an article on BBC News on a bunch of people who do reverse-scams (they scam the Nigerians who try to scam them LOL)..thought it was pretty funny. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/3887493.stm

Saint Michael Conducting A Survey For A Business Project
mew replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Business Forum
I just completed the survey too..took only a few moments. Hope it'll help with whatever you're doing. English is my second language, I guess that's one of the questions that were left out? -
Japanese Anyone? Can you give us some Japanese recipes, please?
mew replied to freshpub's topic in Health & Fitness
Have you tried making Chawanmushi? It's a Japanese egg dish that's not too difficult to make and tastes absolutely great. Here's the instruction on youtube: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ You can check out other videos by the same user (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) as well. They're all cooking videos of Japanese dishes..I think there are nearly 40 of them. The guy narrating in the video has a bit of an accent but it shouldn't be too hard to make out what he's saying. -
Would You Use Ie Explorer Even If It Wasn't Bundled With Windows?
mew replied to The Simpleton's topic in The Internet
I probably wouldn't use it if it wasn't bundled with windows. I don't use it normally either and it's only very rarely when a web page looks broken in FireFox that I'll switch to IE to see if it works properly there. I've come across web pages that state they only work with Internet Explorer. That's just stupid IMO. IE feels really slow and the last time I used it (which was really long ago) I kept getting errors on web pages that work fine in Firefox. -
Would You Prefer A Few Friends Or A Lot Of Friends?
mew replied to The Simpleton's topic in General Discussion
If by friends you mean people you would want to hang out with voluntarily (ie: not out of necessity or only when it's convenient), I prefer having a few close friends as opposed to a lot of friends. For some inexplicable reason, I get uncomfortable/irritated easily if I have to be around more than a few people for extended periods of time. It's one of the reasons I don't have many friends because I wouldn't be able to stand going out with them all the time. I'm alright if I have to be at a party once in a while (like once in a few months) but I'd be pretty unhappy if I had to do that every week. I also like having conversations with my friends and I usually don't consider someone a real friend unless I can talk to them freely and not worry about being judged. With many friends, this would be difficult because you wouldn't be able to know all them well enough to have such conversations. Also, I find that this is something you can't do with everyone because many people aren't comfortable talking about things beyond a superficial level or just don't know how to. However, using a less strict definition of friend as someone you do not actively dislike (lol) and can do things together with if necessary, I would prefer having many because it's simply better to be on good terms with people. I've taken a few psychology modules and from what I've learned so far, having many friends seem to be better for your overall well-being. It also depends on the quality of the relationships though. (If you're interested in finding out more, go google social connectedness ) -
I love this game! I played the female version (More Friends of Mineral Town) for GBA and kept giving the doctor herbs/weeds to try and get him to like me. My favorite part of this game is rearing the animals so they produce the largest sizes for eggs/milk/wool. The cooking feature in this game is great too but it takes quite some time because you need to build the kitchen and get the equipment. I have it in my DS right now (Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness) but haven't had the time to play much. There's a new version coming out in November for the DS too. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ edit: I just noticed the last post was in 2004. Is it okay to dig up such old posts? I have no idea how I got to this page LOL

If you're talking about earning a couple of bucks here and there, playing games might be a good way to do that. I've earned $3 from http://www.updown.com/ It's a stock market simulation, you get real money deposited into your paypal account if you earn money in your virtual portfolio. I also do email surveys from http://www.mysurvey.com.sg/index.cfm (for people in singapore, but I think there's an international version too). I've earned about $100 but that's over a couple of years LOL and they only give vouchers so I guess it doesn't really count? As for earning money online as a source of income, I haven't actually found/tried anything yet (except for ebay which I don't really consider 'online' because I have to pack the stuff and ship them :x)

It's pretty disturbing if something like that does happen. If the hybrid had human intelligence, imagine how it would feel if it realized what it was. Even if it didn't, it'd probably be locked up for the rest of its life and be experimented on. I don't think any reason at all can justify the creation of a human/animal hybrid. There are simply too many issues to take into account and too many repercussions. Would the hybrid be considered human or animal? What if it looked human but wasn't self-conscious?I really hope no one has done something like that or intends to, but I'm wondering if there could be a chance that someone has created a human/chimp hybrid and is hiding it somewhere in their underground laboratory or something.

Dungeon Keeper 2 info and download as its abandonware
mew replied to miladinoski's topic in Computer Gaming
I just completed the campaign mode on my new laptop! I remember playing this and Dungeon Keeper 1 a long time ago (DK1 when I was about eleven or twelve) and it used to take minutes to load on my reallyoldcan'trememberwhatlousymodel computer, now it takes just a few seconds. This game looks really good for its age. My only gripe is it randomly crashes from time to time or it could be because I'm using Windows Vista -
I was looking for free hosting and I found this. Already got myself a host but I figured it'd be fun to join the forum anyway. I'm 21 this year and studying full-time in university. I hate attending lectures so I skip all of them and get someone to sign the attendance sheet. I sell stuff part-time with my boyfriend on ebay and we're trying to find more ways to make passive income and/or a load of cash so we can go on a month-long holiday by the end of next year.I'm currently trying to get a web site up to sell various cutesy stuff locally. Also thinking about getting myself a blog (and possibly making some money out of it) but hesitating due to privacy issues. Hmm..I guess that's all.
