  1. This is a nice looking site. Nevertheless, I only have one comment. When you hit the content button, a menu opens (with available options), and the whole page restarts to main. I mean, what's the use of having a tree in the contents button if it goes directly (and automatically) to the main page??!
  2. Two things has come to my mind while viewing your site. The first, and I do agree with most of the guys, you could do with a better color combination (try red and grey).Secondly, and I'm not sure if anybody experienced it, on your main page the blogs are not aligned with the menu items on the right. First I see the menu items (on the right), then when I go down the page (until the last menu item), the blog starts on the left side. Is this correct, or am I the only one experiencing this??!Nevertheless, everything else seems to be in order. Congrats.
  3. fffanatics, your site is a good start, but I do have a number of comments that could give some improvements to you site. Firstly, the background color, it's a bit too used up. Try a more subtle and darker color. Secondly, and I do agree with Sprnknwn, the top banner is too big, try for a smaller size, and do try to limit the width to a max of 800px. This brings me to my third point, the page layout. It's a bit un-organized. Try to put everything in a table layout (within your page, and without borders). Assign fixed width to each column, and keep your table centralized within the page (keeping the width of the whole table at a max. of 800px). The menu bar on the left side could use some renovation. Lose the background image, don't use transparent GIFs. Instead, keep in a rectangle shape and use the same color you are using for the page background as the background for the button. You can also replace the double arrow for the menu items with a small cirular button clipart (with the same background). If you still want to have the effect of transparent background button, do opt for another format other than GIFs. Try PNGs (more information about PNGs is provided by Trevor Morris. My final point has to do with font size. It's a bit too big, if you see it on a small screen resolution.
  4. Did you know you can turn a layer object into a mask? Usinganother object as a mask is referred to as a clipping group. Whenyou group two or more layers, the base (bottommost) layer becomesa mask for the entire group. Any texture or color layers abovethe base layer are clipped so they only show on the base graphic. This nifty feature allows you to control what your various layersaffect in an image. To group layers, you can link them and thenchoose Layer > Group Linked. As an alternative, you can also[option]-click ([Alt]-click in Windows) the line between the two layers.
