What do you think the best wireless mouse used for gaming is? I'm looking for one under $100, similar to Apple's Magic Mouse (by the way, is that compatible with Windows?). My PC came with a trackpad, unfortunately, which I suck at using.

Is it possible to upgrade a laptop's video card? My laptop came with 128 Megabytes of integrated Intel video memory (with 4GB's of RAM, 64-bit, so it runs most games very well because it supports HD). I am not afraid of taking my laptop's casing apart, so is there any way I can upgrade it? It is a Toshiba Satellite A505-S980. If I can upgrade it, would any normal PC videocard be good, or are there special laptop ones that I should purchase?

They are probably referred to as a dialect because they branch off of a main language (e.x. in Spain their are different conjugations of commands than in Mexico, but it is still considered the spanish language).

Does Your School Annoy You? Too Tough On You?
FruitRocks replied to bttfpromo's topic in General Discussion
my Bio teacher really *bleep me bleep* off. Every day, we have to wake up around 6 or so in the morning. One day, he got irritated at us and said that if you are sleeping in class it is most likely that you are failing it (which is not true because I have a 92.1%, never failed a Performance Indicator, and always sleep in his class every day). That's not true. With the exception of foreign languages where you do actually need to pay attention, its usually just a matter of studying to make sure you know the material, and turn in your homework. Another thing that he said is that (forget exactly, just a gist of it) is that he has to come hear every day and has to put up with it to, so we should also. Difference: Teacher=Chosen to come backUs= Pulled out of our beds by the law to come to a hell hole at 7:15 in the morning. Same thing with history, but luckily the teacher doesn't care because most of the time I get my assignments turned in on time, and never failed a single test. All because I like to play war videogames :)Don't even get me started on my band teacher. One of my friends in the drumline (Marching Band) was being made fun of by a senior (aka "hazing" as our school calls it) so he got half of the drumline kicked off, which our band director wasn't happy about. Apparently the director was mad at him or didn't believe him (even though he had proof), so they got in a verbal fight after school, and was suspended for a week from the drumline as well. For my birthday my parents bought me a new laptop (around $800) to be used in college (I plan on going to graphic design colleges)Specs: TOSHIBA A505-S6980Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bitIntel Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHZ T660016'' HD TruBrite Widescreen Display4GB RAM with 500GB HDD128 integrated video memory (will be upgrading, if possible)So far its a very good laptop, no lag in almost any 3D application, including Dreamweaver and 3DS Max. I will be graduating in about 2 years, so unless there is some technological revolution will this be fine (keep in mind that yes, I did install Mac OS X Retail version on this)?

I use Torque 2D. It is a GUI editor that plugs into XNA and Visual Studio 2008, and that allows you to write the game without knowing any C# (though it is a good idea to at least know a little bit). There is a professional one, but you need to be a registered developer to be able to get it. Website: garagegames.com

do you mean under 2 gigabytes? because that's not possible even if you were to find one, it wouldn't support any current program unless it is some new cloud-computing OS. For open-source, my favorite ones are: Fedora Ubuntu 9.10 (by FAR the best one)Damn Small Linux and yes, good old Windows 3.11 :(which is exactly 5.47 megabytes according to MSDN Dev Page by the way, somebody enlighten me on what 16-bit is...

I think that Vista has given Windows a very bad name. A few days ago, I bought a new laptop with Windows 7-64 bit Home Premium, and have never had a problem with it so far. If you don't like Windows but can't afford a Mac, here is a pointer: If you buy a Windows Laptop with a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, i7, etc, Psystar has supplied the Rebel EFI for which you can buy for about $50 (there is a 2-hour trial available, but again, its only 2 hours). What it does is you basically insert the disc into the machine and then swap !it out with the retail Mac OS X disc, install and wham. Full-blown Mac. Currently, this is completely legal AS LONG AS YOU BOUGHT A RETAIL DISC, NOT DOWNLOADED ONE! Again, don't be cheap. Apple deserves their money even if you aren't buying it for a real Mac, and you can even get a Tiger disc for about $10 nowadays. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ My Config: TOSHIBA A505-S6980 Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Mac OS X Snow Leo Server

I've been using 32-bit OS's for all of my life. However, I thought it would be a good idea for me to get an OS with 64-bit capability because they are obviously more powerful. I'm definitely not a newbie to computers, but this whole 64-bit OS (I bought a Toshiba A505-S6980 Windows 7 Home Premium, Intel Core 2 Duo) is totally new to me. What are some things that I should look out for when using a 64-bit OS (again; I am not a newbie, even with 7. I installed the 32-bit RC on my computer a few weeks earlier).

I signed up for an eHow account today thinking that I was going to be able to sign up for the WCP. When I am finished with my registration and then click on the WCP registration, however, I get an error saying that the requested page couldn't be found. Is anybody else having issues with this?

On Xisto's servers, am I allowed to make a "private_ftp" folder which contains backups of my documents, etc.? As for video, if I own the movie and I want to stream it from my computer (no download link will be provided), is that considered illegal? What types of things are not allowed in general on Xisto's servers?

Okay well about six months ago I was almost ready to ask out a girl, then the night before I had a dream that she had already had a boyfriend. The next day (I forget how, maybe on FaceBook, etc) I found out that she did have a boyfriend. After that dream, I didn't have very clear dreams like that anymore. About 3 months or so after that day, I went on FaceBook and noticed an app called "predict the first name of your girlfriend/boyfriend or something like that." I did the quiz, and I got the letter "e" (coincedantally, another girl who I had liked had begun with the letter "e"). After another month or so after that, I had a dream a night ago that was very blurry. The dream was black and white with no color, and my perspective was me or somebody (I couldn't tell) walking down a hallway in the mall, and then in far off in the distance I could see the outline of the person who I liked and another guy (it may have even been me, I couldn't have told because it did look a lot like me). The next day I bought Chinese for dinner and got a weird fortune, that said something along the lines of: "If you think that you can or can't do something, then you are right." One of my lucky numbers was 27, the day that I go back to school (I see her in one of my new classes). Do you think that this is all somehow related or just coincedental?

Well my OS is Windows 7 Enterprise RTM and I can't sync my iPod Touch with iTunes (I used to be able to). The weird part about it is that it gave me the same error on a computer running windows xp, but then it worked. Another thing is is that I can also sync it in Virtual PC using Virtual Machine Additions.

haha. at my school the admins disabled .bats but they think that we don't know how to make a bat file out of a txt document.... one time a kid had shutdown one lab of computers by doing that and the admins freaked out. it was very funny

Here's how to import a CSS style into Dreamweaver CS4. When you purchase/download a theme, you will notice that you will get a few files and then a .css file. If you open that directly using Dreamweaver, you will notice that it will fail. Here are the steps to make it work correctly: 1). Open up Dreamweaver and on the main panel (NOT the pretty green one, but the grey panel above that) click Site. 2). Click "New Site," and then name it whatever you want. 3). You will notice that the green box with the new html page, etc. still stays open. Open up the folder where all of your css items are stored (you should have an index.html, pictures, etc.). Drag those to the right under the folder where it says "Site" or whatever you named it. 4). Click on the index.html or whatever the main .html file is called. The pretty green dialog box will disappear, and there is you template that you can edit!

I've been thinking of putting some ads on my site, and using Adsense. How much money can you realistically make? When they say "place adds in the RSS feeds," what do they mean by that? Thanks!

Hmmm, well let's see. For my Windows 7 hard drive, its called "home." for my windows server drive, it's called data and the other one that i have is called sys. really, whats the point of this post?

Thanks... I finally figured it out later today. My FTP site was somehow pointing to https://xisto.com/, instead of the domain that I purchased. :shrugs: Or maybe my domain hadn't been propogated then. who knows?

Where Are The Asp.net Controls For Dreamweaver Cs4?

I know. I tried uploading to my website (I purchased a domain name and hosting) using FileZilla but everytime that I would try to upload it it would give me a Failed to Connect to error. Everything is setup properly, so I don't know why it shouldn't.

Do you think that people should be able to upload copyrighted songs (e.x. I'm on a Boat by T-Pain) or should YouTube always reserve the right to take them down? For me, I think that as long as the uploader doesn't provide any direct download links to the song YouTube should be okay with it (then to the viewer's discretion on whether or not they will use free downloaders to download the videos). I know that a lot of people have been getting irritated with their songs on their videos becoming removed or replaced with different songs on YouTube do too copyright issues.

I know that I have a public_ftp folder, but do I have a private_ftp folder (I just bought the Unlimited Storage and Bandwith, and would like to backup some of my files there).

Yeah, that's what I meant. Apparently the Telus version of the Dare has Java instead of BREW....... Meaning no putting free games on the Verizon LG Dare :"(

Is Creating A Real Website A Very Difficult Job? Need Help!
FruitRocks replied to iGuest's topic in Web Hosting Support
That is what I actually started out with when I used to run my websites on Apache Local Server. If you want a more up-to date version of FrontPage, I would suggest going and downloading Microsoft Sharepoint Designer. They also have a full standalone tutorial that you can download. SharePoint Designer: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download A great book that has helped me a lot is called: Luara Lemay's Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML 3.2 in 14 Days. The book itself was made in 1996 (meaning the software included may be a little outdated, but because it is open source I'm sure that you will be able to find a newer version of it somewhere), so it is kinda old, but that is okay because all of the basics of HTML are there (it really hasn't changed that much). Some of the basics it teaches you are HTML tags (like or <p>). It also covers more advanced stuff like CGI scripts, SSL Encryption, and website secruity. The cheapest FrontPage 2003 is still VERY expensive for a single piece of software, so I would suggest just getting SharePoint (or even Microsoft Web Developer Express Edition, which is FREE, but kinda hard to get a hang of. they have tuts on there website about it). Web Developer Express Edition: microsoft.com/express FrontPage 2003 Link (its about $200) http://www.pacificgeek.com/index.asp
