  1. Unfortunatly, once you get to college you really have to buckle down and work hard, which leaves very little time for outside activities. However I find time to play guitar, coach and play baseball, watch american football, listen to music, and hiking. In highschool I did track, water polo, and swimming.
  2. Richie Kotzen RhapsodySonata ArcticaDream Theaterbasically your normal slice of heavy metal
  3. I'm sorry but I don't understand the whole arguement about making abortion illegal. Afterall Religion has no place in politics, and it should not be brought into the whole abortion arguement. It is the woman who has to carry the baby for many months, why should she not have the right to chose what happens to her body? I don't understand the whole arguement about cutting down on sex before marriage. Not everyone in this world follows the same religion, thus your arguement no longer pertains to this topic anymore. its a touchy subject, but there are cirumstances where it is definatly better to abort than to have the baby.
  4. Technology is a nessacity, i don't see how you can say otherwise. Without it we would not have the advancements in communication, transportation, and medicine. Just to name a few. Without technology it would be impossible to sustain the current population on the earth. How would we get enough food? How would we communicate across the globe? Without the advancements in medicine incredible amounts of people would die each year. I just don't see any other option.
  5. When I was in highschool i used to be like many of you people here on the board. I hated school and I saw absolutly no purpose in the stuff that I was learning. I hated the social system and the enviroment. But when I got to college this all changed. You become way more independent. Of course this is bad for those people that benefited from the highschool system, ie several of my friends who were 4.0 students in highschool became 3.0 students in college. Basically college is what you get out of it, if you work hard you will succeed. I have worked hard, and gave up a lot of my social life, but now I am off to graduate school in nuclear engineering, and one day hope to bring in the big bucks.Trust me, it pays to stick with it, even if it might be hard and boring right now.
  6. I started playing bass about 7 years ago,but then I moved to guitar and never went back. I dont play with any bands, just play on my own and jam with my friends whenever I can.
  7. Some what related, but its about time people start thinking about getting away from using fossil fuels. Time to head towards nuclear power and hydrogen powered cars. These compliment each other and with the right technology can be safe to both people and the enviroment. There is just a lot of misconceptions about nuclear power that need to dissapear before anything will happen.
  8. Why do I have to choose between the two? It's like me deciding between classical and electric guitar. In fact I love them both quite a lot and I can use a lot of what I use on classical on the electric also. I think to be a real classical guitar player you have to follow somepretty strict rules, ie fingernails, position, etc.. These rules are not present in contemporary guitar which maybe seems more attractive to some for this reason.
  9. I have played guitar for 5 years. Currently into all sorts of shred, Yngwie Malmsteen, Richie Kotzen, Greg Howe, Vinnie Moore, Joe Stump, Tony Macalpine...and the rest of the gang. I also like power metal, ie Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica to name a few. I play a jackson soloist which is the best metal guitar ever! I also play classical guitar, not so much anymore, but i love Barrios.
  10. I think my favorite subject has to be math and science (especially physics, I just graduated with my BS in physics). The reason why is because the method for solving problems is very well constructed and you just apply the method to the problem and get the right answer. As oppose to history, the path to the answer is not always so concrete. It's very comforting I think to be able to know that you are correct!
