  1. i figured since i already posted in a couple forum threads, i should at least say hello. first off, brilliant idea with regard to the mycents program... kudos to the folks here for that.as for me, i've been kickin' around the web, bloggin and such for some time now. i spend a lot of time writing and recounting days of touring bands, design work, crazy events, and just about anything else i can make light of from my past. i've been taking a break for the past while but with the fairly recent purchase of a rather wonderful little camera, i'm looking to start documenting a few things again... which is essentially why i'm here, for a cost effective way in which to do so.i think that about sums it up for now... i'm a little tired so the ol' intellect muscle isn't exactly running at full steam. hope all is well with everyone!- sean
  2. i too would sit at the 6+ mark... i think to declare one's self a 7 would essentially equate to being a liar or a "god" in and of yourself for the simple fact that such a concrete response would require absolute truth, meaning that you apparently existed when all of this was created and as of yet, i've not met a man that has lived since the beginning of time.that said... i certainly have my leanings. i suppose you could say i'm a follower of the church of carl sagan. i grew up in a very christian home but was lucky enough to have parents that were very open and understanding. i was to attend church until the age of 12, at which time it was up to me to choose what path i wished to follow. to this day, my mum and i will still have faith based discussions and she is completely supportive of my choices regardless of whether or not they match her own. there is a respect based relationship there and in that, honest discussion can take place. i might not be willing to bend to her views, but i'm always (well... usually) willing to hear the opinions of another.
  3. i just picked up the samsung omnia. so far i'm liking it but i will need to go in and unlock the GPS (a known issue with the north american CDMA release of the phone) so i can make proper use of programs like google maps. that said, i haven't really run into any issues... sometimes the divx video playback can be a little touchy when first launched but straightens out quickly enough. call clarity, battery life, and overall functionality are definitely respectable though i did swap out the main menu format for the much cleaner and more streamlined "quickmenu" (which can be downloaded for free from several sites).all in all, i'm pretty happy with my purchase. close enough to an iphone without having to deal with canada's oh so hated provider, rogers.
  4. i finally got around to picking up the LUMIX LX3 back in february (well, i had to order it in from japan as it was out of stock just about everywhere in north america). when i finally did receive it, i quickly learned why shops couldn't keep it in stock. it takes beautiful photos and has just about every element one could want from a digital SLR, in a point and shoot format. fully customizable (i'm still figuring out it's complete functions three months later), is able to run an external flash/lenses/etc., shoots video in HD (which does come out looking quite clear i might add), and the wide angle format without any additional lens required is second to none. toss in the fact that it basically runs side by side with the much more expensive LEICA D-LUX 4 (the LUMIX actually contains much of the same "guts" if you will)... and you've got a point and shoot that for my money, can't be beat.plainly put, i love it through and through.
