  1. Actually this move is not that big of a problem. I myself is also a Mac user (at school only), there will be a compatibility layer that VMWare has designed for Apple to help them move to Intel chips. IMO, this move will surely crush Windows Longhorn by a mile (which I hope so). The ones left with PowerPC have no problems because they'll be software designed for it.There's certainly Linux users running on PowerPC.xboxrulz

  2. Linspire is great for work and multimedia then choose Linspire. Actually it's C-N-R service is a bit overcharged because you also must pay to download free software thru it. Xandros on the other hand doesn't have any advantages than Linspire. The distribution I recommend and suggest for power users or gamers to use is SuSE for stability, ease of use and optimal freedom to do anything. I don't really recommend Mandriva (formerly Mandrake) because it's ridiculed with bugs. Fedora Core is an experimental distribution, it's good for work and server but definitely not unstable and it's not gamer friendly because of such bugs. That's my review on the distros.xboxrulz

  3. KDE and GNOME are both GUIs in the Linux, and the BSD world. Both are opened sourced. To be disinterested here: KDE is an opensource contemporary GUI, it is powered by the QT graphics engine. It is faster and easier to manage than GNOME. Plus, it's more customizable than GNOME. KDE looks more like Windows. In contrast, GNOME is an opensource GUI, powered by the GTK graphics engine. It is customizable but hard to manage, many things comes as different packages. GNOME looks more like Macs, but without the sleek design. All in all both are as great.IMO, I love KDE over GNOME anyday, I had the worst experience in GNOME than KDE!xboxrulz

  4. Enjoying Windows XP? Are you kiddin' me? It's ridiculed with bugs, viruses and a service pack 2 that degrades or destroys your machine! WinXP is the most bloated OS I've ever encountered. I use Linux, not bloated and definately not ridiculed with bugs and have service packs that are not machine degrading or destroying.I am part gamer, so I use Linux to the best of my gaming, if Cedega can't emulate it, then I use Windows. Even in the case of Windows; Win2k SP4 is faster and much stabler than WinXP.After 6 months testing, the results are from worst to best Windows OS:Win MEWin 3.1 and lowerWin 95Win 98Win XPWin 2Kand of course Linux is better than Win2K except for Mandriva (formerly Mandrake).Plus, KDE (using QT technology) has the best desktop environment I've ever seen, better than the Win32 GUI on WinXP.xboxrulz
