  1. I love martial arts...It soothes the soul. Sparring is one of the most enjoyable parts of martial arts because it's when you can physically see how much you've improved. THe adrenaline before a match simply makes me happy. I couldn't possibly imagine my life without martial arts. I would think I would have a lot of free time on my hands, though. Heh.Another upside of martial arts is that you make lasting friends in the process of getting stronger (or whatever your goal is). Everyone is fighting for their goal and even though that finish line may be different for each person, everyone can relate.
  2. I have to teach my friends at the dojo all the time. I have tons of friends who only joined 'to have some fun' after a hard day's work and don't take learning very seriously... My teacher is oblivious to their lack of care and blames their sub-par results on the fact that they don't understand the fundamentals.... So sometimes i am told to look after their progress when he's not around.... Training five people at a time is not very fun when all they want to do is see who can throw the other person off the mat first...They end up just pushing each other until one gives. Heh, so i guess i can understand how you feel....My friend's act like kids half the time....
  3. Heh, you're right, I don't have low self esteem. It's just that whenever I make a site everyone just kinda goes, "It's nice." I never hear anything really excited or truly shocked. Maybe I will put more thought into design. Thank's a lot for your words.
  4. Thanks for your compliments! I never thought anyone really liked my designs very much. If you need a design made or customized (including logos) feel free to just email me or pm me and ask! (remember to include what systems your using a long with your hosting specs, etc.)

    Hi, I'm New

Haha, hey Ruben. I love your amusing little intro. It tells a lot about yourself. I love people who get inspired and work hard for what they want. And then they ignore the strangeness of their desires and fight for what they want despite that. If you ever need help, you can always ask me. I think I could set up a phpbb forum for you in a couple of minutes. No charge at all, of course. I figured I'd tell you a few things i was confused about when i first started out:-myCents is set up automatically when you post 5 times (the next day). -myCents updates are not instant, but there is a delay (this is on purpose)-Don't have to sign up at xisto until you want to get your hosting-You need 25 cents worth of mycents to add to your xisto accountI'll add more as I think of them.
  6. Yeah, I asked someone and they let me know that it was a 5 post minimum. I just logged in and was pretty excited when i saw the myCents that I had. I feel like my stay here will be a pleasant one. Really really pleasant one.
  7. I like this topic. I would want to die... Fighting for something I believe in. This can happen in many ways, including old age (I believe in living a long time and dying peacefully), maybe saving someone's life (not purposeful sacrifice myself for this person, though, just end up losing my life unfortunately after saving them), or even get hit really hard in the head in a sparring match. That would be a fun way to die.Well, however you die, what really matters is how you live your life. Don't worry about what happens after that, just like you don't worry about tomorrow. You never see it, and you can never predict what will happen. Just do what you can today and hope for the best. (WOOT< CHEESE FEST!)
  8. When I saw this I wasn't even surprised. Yes, something similar has happened to me. Luckily my company accountant is a good friend of mine and settled all of my problems, and got comcast to get off my back. It's not just comcast, though, and it's not their fault. I know we'd like to say it is, but it's not. Now, these guys are big companies (comcast, verizon, etc.). They don't have time to be dealing with EVERY one, even if they have hundreds of people on support. I know because I run a business and I know how it feels. No matter how much support I try to give or how personalized I try to make it (and yes, I do have employese, it's not a one man show) it never works out. My employes make mistakes, I make mistakes, and bad things happen. And who's to blame? My company of course. No one else. The same thing with comcast.I definitely feel your pain, though. That post was just something... that might make you feel better? Probably not. lol. Good luck with your new provider after comcast. (hehe).
  9. Heh, private servers are fun. They are definitely illegal though, you're right.I have experience in making multiplayer games. I once tried to make an mmo style game and it was just too annoying. Not the actual game, but just making the server run quickly enough to make the experience worth while! Over this upcoming summer break I will be working on my online 3d fighting game. Now I'll be able to use something like hamachi and not have to worry about massive servers anymore...So if you don't even know what kind of server you'll be needing, start small. If you want a mmo on your website make a browser based game like a card game or a browser rpg. If you work hard you can be success (runescape, although this is stretching it, society building games, tribe wars, etc.).If you want a "REAL" mmo you'll need a server. Really. You will, and it's not free. And the development of the game is probably not going to be free either unless you want to invest tons of time and effort. If you want some more info, let me know. I'll be happy to give you some more insight.BTW, don't analyse my response too thoroughly. I know there are "holes" that may mislead people if it is read with the intent of following. Remember, if you actually want to go out and do somethign like this based on my advice, let me know! I will make a better post.
  10. Wow, I got some wonderful replies! I wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. I really do get the feeling that my search is over. My site is at 1ngame.com for all of you who wanted to see some of my work. Right now it's just in development so don't sign up yet. I need to create the profile system and everything. It's about 90% done. In a few days all of my templates will be up there, and the site will be ready for the eyes of the public. Thanks for the compliments and wishing me good luck. Would anyone care to explain the myCents system? Is there anything I need to do to start earning them? Because I can see that everyone beside me has a myCents catagory.
  11. Hello everyone at Xisto! I thought I'd share a little about myself before I got started posting on this forum. I've been bashing my head against a wall trying to get a good host, and when I finally thought I had found one, I started messing with my scripts. Although the host was great (unlimited bw and 25 gb of space, wow..) it just didn't seem to respond well to my scripts. A great host but failed. Another host had too many bugs. Although the support was great, it was too much of hassle to go back every day to have my account reset because of one bug or another. This went on and on and on... Until finally I came across Xisto. I had been here before, but I thought it would be annoying to HAVE to be active to keep my hosting. Then I realized that it would be worth it. The host would be more reliable, and I wouldn't need to worry about it going down any minute. The best part? I could pay through paypal when my site finally got off the ground instead of having to worry at all! I can't honestly say that I didn't just join for the hosting. It'd be a lie. I am however going to take part in this community and be 100% sincere about earning my hosting. I always like to help out, especially when someone is helping me. Whether this be giving my hosting, or just telling me that I'm missing a </p>. Maybe I'm being too frank, but I feel it's better than pretending to be someone I'm not. I just hope I can be accepted into this community so that it is easier for me to get involved. My hobby is primarily design/art, but I am also a relatively skilled programmer. I also do some freelancework if anyone needs some help. Especially if it's to set up a CMS, forum, or design a site. I don't charge that much either, and a lot of times I'm willing to do the job for free if it's nothing too long or difficult.Zraze
