The resulting value is Einstein's cosmological constant which needs to lie within very narrow limits; the value is fine tuned to a hundred decimal places in order to allow a universe to exist long enough for intelligent life to evolve. Some people take this as evidence that our universe is just an infinitesimal small part a vast multiverse.My question is, will the existence of the Higgs boson be found? Or will we have to rewrite the standard model?

Although half of the US debt is held by the Federal reserve about 30% is held by international investers/governments. The US public debt is now at about 60% GDP. If inflation increases then the value of this debt to be repaid to foreign investors is reduced. Similarly, if the dollar falls in value, the value of the debt returned to foreign borrowers will be reduced.If borrowers outside the US stop lending to the US then there could be big problems affecting the supply of money available to the US government to spend. The money supply could be maintained by printing money, but this could lead to hyper-inflation. The way inflation is controlled is through Interest Rates. This causes a problem because with a large amount of public debt the amount that has to be paid each year in interest to maintain the debt will also increase. How have you been affected by the credit crunch?

It doesn't have to be like that. Once settled in the job the developer should keep themself in shape. Begin with yoga to encourage flexibility, and then take up some sports. Live somewhere where you've got nice places to go cycling or running or kayaking, sailing, climbing. Old age can be offset through keeping physically fit, not to mention avoiding heart attacks etc. Whats the point in developing software but not developing the body. The software will come and go, the results of neglecting to develop the body last a lifetime.

Growing old sucks. First you count up, and then you start counting down. And would you really want to know what its like further down the road? No doubt some will say they are gloriously happy and live for there family etc., but nothing lasts forever. Which at some level is good, because otherwise there would never be a renewal.
