This is very true! A crime is a crime, and in most places they can be prosected many years after the crime at any age. But thats something that she needs to consider not you! Be there for her, let her know that she can confide in you at anytime without judgement, and be her friend. The worst thing you can do in your situation is to try to sway her into doing something that shes not prepared to do, regardless of what it is. And as far as "revenge" goes, that could just make matters worse. What if she needs you and you are no longer around to help her because it is you that sits locked up in a cell, while the real "bad guys" (to say it nice), run free? Just be there for her!

Yeah, I wish I had taken pictures anyway, but didnt think about it at the time. Yeah I had changed both the battery and phone, and it wasn't that I was annoyed with the phone as much as the support people. I've called and gotten good service, but sometimes they'd be better off to have monkeys on the line or something.

Regardless of how, you need to talk to them and be very honest with her parents. If you cant do so in person, then yes by all means call them and explain to them how you feel, but you can only apologize for your father. From what I understand in your traditions, and I may be wrong, the parents do most of the choosing, or at least have a very heavy say in who will be married to whom, and the best thing you can do is to respect not only her family, but yours as well. If you blame your father it wont look good for you either, her father will see that as a sign of disrespect also, that you are going against his will. So just make a quick apology for what ever he said and concentrate on convincing her parents that you really care for her, and you are away at school right now to better prepare for a life of dedication to her, and a shared life. Apologize for not being able to sit with them face to face to resolve the issue, and be open about how you feel toward their daughter. Respect, respect, respect! Best of luck to you!

This doesnt amount to much, but I thought it was a funny story and you guys and girls would get a chuckle out of it.Just a couple of months ago, before moving back to the Dallas area I had a Nokia pos through Cingular/att.I had it for awhile, and the service for much longer, but since ATT took over their service has gotten worse, esp out there. So, after calling support a few times and exchanging the phone twice as well as the battery a couple of times, at my expense of coarse, I just decided enough was enough.(It wouldnt hold a charge for more than an hour and would super-heat during charging.)So, while on the phone listening to the lady tell me that it must my fault, and to send the phone in once more, I told her to hold on ... set the phone down, and shot it with a Smith and Wesson 44 mag!"Your call has been disconnected!"It wasnt a temper tantrum ... I was very calm and collected .. just fed up with them.I just wonder what the lady heard, because the phone was obliterated to say the least! I decided to go get a new model of phone to ride out my existing plan, 6 months left, and pick up some hollow-points on the way .. you never know when you may need them!

The most dangerous cake in the world.1 Coffee Mug4 tablespoons flour (that's plain flour, not self-rising)4 tablespoons sugar2 tablespoons baking cocoa1 egg3 tablespoons milk3 tablespoons oil3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)Small splash of vanillaAdd dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.Add the egg and mix thoroughly.Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!)And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake -- any time, day or night!

Yeah, he may be using a cheat of some kind. You can only use the knife at close range, so if he is far away, it has to be a script. lolBut some guys are pretty efficient at the game and all the weapons also, so its hard to say without seeing.

No its not any type of simulator for real-life combat, its all for fun and games, regardless of what some may feel. lolAnd yes, it happens to be the most popular Half-Life mod out there, though there are several.I like CS and Day of Defeat, which is a WWII mod of H-L.Anyone wanting to check it out, you can order and download it through steams website, or just find a Half-Life disc and all the mods are free and sometimes included.I saw half-life at a discount store here in Dallas for $4 lol, but usually about $10.

I've had several exotic pets.A skunk, snake, Iguana, african grey parrot, and a few others. The skunk was mean and I had to get rid of it. He would bite anything and everything lol.The snake was a boa, and was cool to carry around with me.people either cleared the way, or gathered round to check him out.He had his own bedroom and got very big before he got mouth-rot and had to be put to sleep. The iguana was pretty cool too, he would sit on my shoulder all the time .. but if he got nervous about something, he would whip the back of my neck with his tail .. like he was saying .. "ok, time to go now!"My parrot would sit on my shoulder too, but he would poop down my back so I would have to put a towel accross my shoulder, that was gross enough. But my favorite are dogs .. Im a canine obedience instructor and do rescue work and have always loved my dogs.Currently I have an Austrailian cattle dog and my Bishon was put down last week because she had cancer.I'll dedicate this post to her... may she RIP and be happy where she is now lol.

What Are The Best Ways To Meet Someone New?
sylent replied to Atlantis's topic in Dating And Relationships
Hey Atlantis...First i would say be yourself by doing what you enjoy.Sounds cheesy maybe, but its true.If you are into skateboarding, then hang out at skate parks etc to meet girls with the same interest. You dont want anyone fake, and neither do they, so be honest about what you are looking for, to them and yourself as well. But you can meet people anywhere. If you see someone that's interesting to you in a store or restaurant, tell them so, or just strike up a conversation about something you notice about them or what they are doing at the time.Keep a smile and look them in the eye, if she holds eye contact for a moment and smiles back, you are already in good shape .... just never be afraid to talk to them in any case.just hold off on all the winking and wolf whistles until you know her a little while LOL.Like they say, you have to go through several "no" before you get a "yes"!I wish you the best of luck!!Let us know if you find that special someone, fall head over heels and get hitched lol. -
There are millions of guys out there. Some like skinny girls, or tall girls, or short girls, some even like big bald ones with glasses and no teeth believe it or not.The trick is to not worry about it, and dont rush it.Be yourself, and do what makes you happy and smile, and you'll find the perfect guy for you!If you dont like skydiving, how can you find the right guy skydiving??Thats my opinion!

Yea this thread is kinda old .. but how did it turn out all this time later? And jogarriot has a bit of a point. Id say a small gift would be cool, but not just any old trinket you find anywhere... something that tells her your thinking of her is the most important thing. It dont matter what with most chicks, especially at that age as long as its personal. I took a girl to a new burger place once ... and it was the worst EVER ... we joked about it being made of rubber... and the date otherwise went great. Weeks later I show up with an actual rubber hamburger and some stupid joke about it ... she flipped out, and that was her favorite thing for a long time. I wont say what we did then! You said she likes purple! Anything purple and cute .. stuffed dog, cat or even Barney the dip-stick purple dino .. a fake purple flower or fluffy pillow .. once you tell her you saw it and had to get it because it reminded you of her ... its her new fav no matter what it is. Especially one-of-a-kind objects, that would normally be stupid. She likes tweety .... Id stay away from him unless it was especially large, or unique in some way .. holding a purple flower etc.... with something like that you have to compete with all the other tweeties in her collection for top dog. On an occasion like exams etc., take them to dinner or an event ... it shows you care about the occasion, and it assures you of another date in the first place. And a card is great, but dont just grab some standard-a$$ generic card, think about it and be able to explain why it made you buy it for her.... if you cant, get a small gift to give with it as suggested. Dont give it right away with the parents gawking from behind her unless you have to.... always try to wait until your alone and you get that special moment. Even if the moment dont arrive, make it happen ... she'll love you for it! Dont ever show up empty handed, let them know your thinking of them when your not together, and dont go overboard for small occasions, and you'll never let her down! Thats my opinion lol!

How Do Violent Video Games Affect Children?
sylent replied to FreedomOverdose's topic in General Discussion
Great topic! My opinion as a parent, and an avid FPS, "blood and guts or no glory" gamer is this. The reality of it is that games that are violent in nature DO adversly affect children!BUT, they are far from alone and are followers not the leaders in doing so.Movies, television, even cartoons and so-called kiddie-shows are as much if not more to blame than video games. All these things combined have a hand in desensitizing children to blood and violence in any capacity. And this is not new. Since the 50s or maybe even before, movies and such have gotten increasingly bloody and shown more etc than before.Young people these days aren't as turned-off by the sight of blood as my parents were in their day, but the blame is on society, NOT video games! Are kids that play CS going to become terrorists and blow up NY?No.Are they going to play resident evil, then go out zombie hunting? No.But they may not be as bothered by the sight of blood on the street, dead body, or an injured man that they encounter in their life.Leave my video games alone, and dont blame them for what society started long before they were even developed. They aren't going to cause kids to run amuck with hatchets and silenced-deer rifles anymore than anything else will in general!Thats just my 2 cents! Thanks to FreedomOverdose for this topic!! -
I met a new friend who has a son diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. I had heard about it, and seen all the jokes on TV and in movies, but other than that was clueless. My friend directed me to the wikipedia and helped fill in some blanks after a mega-chat session that lasted most of the afternoon and into the evening and I was surprised at what I did not know. Tourette syndrome is hard to diagnose, and most often misdiagnosed. 1-10 of every 1000 children have Tourettes, and some reports say 6-8 in every 1000. That means that many of us may know someone who has it, and dont even know it. We've all seen the jokes about blurting obscenities and the like, but this is extremely rare. Most of the time it is simple tics such as clearing the throat, clicking the tounge or tapping fingers etc, and can be associated with ADHD. It is prevelant in children, who may grow out of it as they mature, or at least the tics may lesson. Children with Tourette syndrome usually learn some things that require eye coordination, or study like new languages very easily. My friends son Nick was doing 100 pc. puzzles at 3-4 yrs old, even completeing 3 different ones combined into one box long before he was ever diagnosed. She told me that in a Tourette syndrome group here in Dallas, that most children were on different medications, and what works for one may not for the next. However medication for Tourettes is usually not prescribed, especially with children. Tourette syndrome does not discriminate, and can be found worldwide, in any race. It is very clear to me after our discussion that many children may be getting into trouble, or misdiagnosed by doctors needlessly. Anyway, I found it very interesting that so many kids might be afflicted and thought it was worth a share. Maybe it will help others in at least to help educate and make some parents aware. The wiki might be a good place to start to learn more: More Info on Tourettes
