Thanks etycto and dimmumurray...for your advice.. I have tried the pages and resources u both refered and found them quite useful. cooltext button site is quite good indeed. For starters like me it can be quite helpful. Now what I need to learn is how to make hovering effects with the images I make with the tools u described...I have tried making two different images and replacing them to get the effect, but they didn't look that good. So are there other ways to make hovering effect in images that I use for buttons or as the image itself. Thanks..

What u can do is to place that in the center is use tables. Tables are the best way to align things on your page if you are rendering pages without using CSS. On the other hand if are to keep making web pages you must learn CSS it very simple and it will make your work very simple and reduce the length of code u write in the HTML pages. In CSS u can write patterns and styles for more tha n one pages...that is you can have aCSS file for your entire website that is for all the pages as mostly all pages of a website use a common type of styling..So for u best option is to learn CSS,Yes there are other tools which can help u making webpages like dreamweaver and coffeecup.

I don't really think so...nowadays most of the kids..and especially boys play violent games frequently...and that too they start playing at a tender age. Yes there have been cases of kids becoming addict to games and doing obsessive behaviour ...they start stealing money to buy games if they don't have it...or they start missing schools for those games or shorten their sleeping hours...and thus it effects their lifestyle ....but it doesn't make them violent or something like that. There have been cases where people were so addicted that they stopped eating and sleeping for playing games and there have been some cases of suicide too. There may have been some cases where people may have become violent but those are very rare and the causes are not only the violent games, but the family environment . First the family environment and second is the company one keeps has the main effect over the individual and not playing any kind of game or something. If a person belongs to a family where is used to watch family violence then definetely he or she is going to become violent or if one belongs to a family which is used to rely on violence in getting their jobs done then their descendents are very likely to follow the same path.So finally what i think is that it is not the games which make people violent, its the family and the company one keeps which makes him or her modest or violent.

Hi guys ...I m making a personal site thats for me a nd my friend group. What I need is a tool which can make cool image buttons to use in my HTML pages.Is there any site which offers such software or the buttons itself for free. I would like to make them on my own, I just need to know the tool.I can't go for an expensive tool like photoshop or corel. So please suggest me a free tool.Thanks...

I have used both IE6 and the firefox mozilla....and undoubtedly Firefox wins over IE.Yes IE7 is quite comparable to Firefox...but can't beat it in surfing speed and all the extensions it provides.Writing webpages to be compatible with all the browsers is quite cumbersomeso if u write it for Firefox it will be easy and it is the most widely used browser.Another thing that it is open source so u can modify it to personalize.After Mozilla I think the next place goes to Opera.

My fovourite is the de_dust2....We play a lot of CS here in our hostels...and to find more than 15 players in a game is quite commonso the best option available is de_dust2..other big maps r available but nothing beats de_dust2. Its the most strategic map u can find and here there is something for everyone I mean u can use any weapon u love.I love snipping and I can do it in this map also.Other maps which we play commonly are the awp maps.

It has been now two years since I have been trying to forget her.....and what I find is that her memories are growing more clearer and clearer ...Now I m away from her but I can't help remembering her...especially when going to bed I keep thinking about her and our wonderful school days...Its hard to find girlfriends out here...this is INDIAOnce you loose someone its gonna take a long time to find someone who can take that persons place.I think I'll never be able to forget her..

I have used dreamweaver for quite a long time...and I find it very useful..A beginner may find it quite difficult to use ..but, afterwards...he would find it most useful and powerful application of its kind that are available.

I have not many of them ...but the most I like is Age of Empires...This is really a strategic game...And I find it very addictive and it is the multiplayer play which makes it very thrilling and prestige issue in our hostels..Apart from cs this the second most played game in my hostel.

If u consider an overall qualities....NOKIA is better than sonyU can get thousands of NOKIA applications on net...thats not true for sony....Sony's sound quality is better than Nokia thats the only area where sony beats nokia....But overall Nokia far better than sony..

what sort of a question is that....never thought about that before....for me one thing is sure...I don't want to live life being old and helpless....I want to live to that extent till my body and bones are fit enough to face the challanges of life....after that I want to die....may be a silent one....without much pain...because there has been enough of that..in my life ....at least I should die without any struggle.

For your needs ..I think the best option is "Alleycode" this gives different colors to different codes accordingly and thats what u wanted.... Secondly u can insert any tag and its different styles and attributes just by choosing "insert option " available...u don't need to write the whole code itself. secondly it has some tutorials also in its help file... u can see a preview of ur page any time the editor itself... wiki is an encyclopedia where knol can be just used as a reference...For now knol is quite small and different from...wikipedia....by small I mean their databasethis is what the product manager said"In the long term we hope that encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia, would use knols as references... If Knol is successful, it will help Wikipedia."One good thing about knol is that ....they are giving some name to the authers....Google has got a grand reputation, but beating wiki....is far away now...but after sometime as their database increases...and if they make it more user friendly...as they always do....they may get close to wiki...best of luck google....

friend ..the best option for u is HTML start learning it....its a very easy language.....u will start writing basic web pages on the very first dayand make them good looking as u proceed.Other options are ...u can go for softwares that will make websites for ...if u just want a website of yours,but if u want to learn then go for the first option... u can use the softwares like coffee cup, dreamweaver...Even your MS word can make webpages..Once u start doing ...u will come to know that u have lot of options to choose from

Hey friends....I m SaNJ, I m a student in India....basically in computer engineering.....For this semester ...we have to make a project..they call it a mini project , but its not that mini...Everybody is making something tricky to get attention of the facultyToday was the last day...and I didn't know what to do ...so asked a teacher...he advised me tomake a Lan messenger....where people could talk....share files....and group talking...I have agreed to go for it..but don't know whether....its gettable for me....I m here to ask help ....How should start...I have nearly 2 months to complete it....I can program in c\c++....currently learning VB.NETSo which language should I choose......If I need to learn a new one ...I m ready..I have enough time for it...I can make fairly good web pages...using HTML,CSS and know a little of PHP and MySQL....Would these of any use.....PLEASE HELP..

Hey u seem to be very demanding .....I think the credit system here is quite good..... I m a new user like u ....and I have joined this site because this is the only place I found that gives u free hosting without any ads on your site .....and I m serious because I have been searching for a site like this for quite a long time....and in my opinion there is no better option... .....I m a learner ..so I don't have ... that much of capital ..to go for a paid host....if u have ...u can go for it....

Thanks klusk ....I have already tried ...what u said ...but the result was sameMy windows firewall is off....and I have configured my bitdefender firewall to allow lan requests..I have even tried with both the firewall disabled...still the same..I think the problem is with the httpd.conf....should I change the port no. to which the server listens...I have uploaded the httpd.conf file in the above post ....can u help me out with it

Yes I know that Yahoo is a decent search engine.....in fact its no 2 in the list after google.But it has no chance of beating google ....let microsoft buy it...or someone else. Hey friends ..I m new to the forum and would like to ask for help. I have just started writing script for web pages.I can make fairly good pages using HTML, PHP and for the backend database I use MySQL. I live in a college hostel and my computer is connected to a LAN having about 300 computers.What I want is to make my web pages available to the LAN users...when I try to do so a message appears..u don't have permission to view <filename> on this server.I m doing this just for curiosity and fun.I think this would be quit simple.....I don't know much about networking...
