=))I never thought of changing the name of the Recycle Bin, not talking about searching somewhere what its registry is to modify it.So I think it's quite a funny tutorial. One thing though, in didn't work in my case. But probably because of my Vista. And about the previous comment, that made me laugh also.So at least I can change the System Properties window to show me that I have a processor of 4 GHz. Comfortable thought.

Open Office Vs Microsoft So thinking of dumping Microsoft Office?
bittr replied to eiteljoh's topic in Science and Technology
Software for free... it's a cute idea, but let's be serious.Microsoft Office 2007 looks and works way way better then OpenOffice. I'm not a Microsoft fan, but still I don't like when people say bad things about something just because everyone else does.I had to use OpenOffice at work (for about one year) and it was terrible. Basic formatting, that was ok, but a lot of things easily done wits MS Office were really stressful in OpenOffice. Tables, margins and paragraphs.. not saying that if I did some drawings it was a big chance they were formatted another way when I opened OO the second time.In few words, MS Office is a professional software. OpenOffice is just a freeware you can't rely on. Not counting that it's on some parts based on Java and thus pretty slow. And about PDF generator, you can do that in MS Office 2007 too. -

First of all, greetings to anyone who's bored enough to read through these introductions. I signed up 2 days ago, got hosted 1 hour ago... And thought it's about time I introduce myself. My name is Dan, 24, IT student (hopefully graduating this year). Worked for about 2 years as programmer, desktop applications. I love programming when it's not unnecessarily complicated and I am kind of a perfectionist. I looked for free webhosting because I want to learn some PHP, mostly just for amusement. Also, I want to see how it is to develop and manage an website (improving it, attracting visitors, etc.) You can follow my progress at (my new domain): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I just have some html files for the moment and I'll improve it as I learn. I want to make it a simple and clean website, with more attention to details. That's what I think a lot of websites lack nowadays. Well... Thanks if you had the patience to read all this. (btw, Xisto is an awesome name )

I guess it's a good thing for you to know how you got found.I was searching for free web hosting, as everybody, and I hit a site that had reviews about a lot of hosting sites. But most relevant is the reason I chose this one.... This system of posting and no ads on my future site... And mostly the name... Xisto sounds good for an overdomain name

Whats Your Favorite Thing To Do? What is it?
bittr replied to SharpShooter22's topic in General Discussion
My favourite thing to do...Laying around with some friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon... chilling, playing some music together, drinking beers. With no cliche and annoying people around. -
Latin quotes are the best.'Mens sana in corpore sana' .... roughly translated 'Healthy mind in healthy body'.This means (for me at least) that one should assure that his body stays healthy and only this way his mind can create great things.Like the importance of sports, enough sleeping, etc.Although I read some things about the quote's origin and the meaning wasn't exactly this one.

Difference Between C, C++ And C#? And some other questions.
bittr replied to H R's topic in Programming
C and C++ are now clear, I think.C# language is a procedural, object-oriented syntax based on C++ and includes influences from aspects of several other programming languages (most notably Delphi and Java) with a particular emphasis on simplification.C# was specially developed as part of the .NET framework. In use with ASP.net, it is the first option. It is in my opinion the best programming language now existent. And with the greatest future, at least until some other thing gets invented. So, if you are looking to concentrate on learning somethin, I highly recommend it. -
Oscar Wilde - The Picture of Dorian GrayThe Picture of Dorian Gray is considered one of the last works of classic gothic horror fiction with a strong Faustian theme. It deals with the artistic movement of the decadents, and homosexuality, both of which caused some controversy when the book was first published. However, in modern times, the book has been referred to as "one of the modern classics of Western literature."'We can forgive a man for making a useful thing as long as he does not admire it. The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely. All art is quite useless.' (quote from the Preface)

Well, for serious TV series, I really liked 'Oz'. Very good one, developed characters, not at all boring. And for less serious... South Park comes first, then Futurama and the Simpson.

I always found this question quite interesting, so I decided now to do a bit of research by myself. Most of the answers here seemed a bit speculative, so I thought I should turn to a somehow 'authorized' source. From wikipedia, a page about survival skills:'A human can survive a maximum of three days without the intake of water assuming you are at sea level, at room temperature, and a relative humidity'.These conditions are the most favourable for 'without water' survival, wereas colder/warmer temperatures, different humidity just decrease the period. You can also survive more if you prevent water loss. And, from the same page, the record:'The crew of a lifeboat reportedly lasted 8 days without water'.
