i just bought my new cell phone line and am i happy about that? I sure do. hehehe

it really depends on the version of IE6 whic you are using. If you are using IE6 SP2 and you have all the necessary security updates installed in your computer, then you shouldnt be afraid of viruses and ad/spywares cos everything was taken care of in those security updates.

what kinda forum are you using? PHPBB or Invision Power Board? for PHPBB go to PHPBB Styles and for IPB go to the link that was provided by Bash.

it will be real kool if MicroSoft will release the Windows Server 2004. I believe that it will have more features compared to the 2003 counterpart. And will be more user friendly too.

For now, i am still using internet download manager. it is a good one and it downloads fast too.

I dont think that shtml should be incorporated into PHP and ASP. It still has its own function in web designing and has other types of websites which it is still used for. And it is not advisable to drop shtml. It is a good scripting lang and has its uses in web designing and other applications too.

PHPBB2 Forum Bug This bug is messing up my forums
odomike replied to odomike's topic in Web Hosting Support
I am using the Cpanel installation for my PHPBB forum. I aint using any a modded one. Thanks for your advice on testing the forum on my local machine libs2day. I posted this same problem at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and I was adviced by one of the members to get a soft called easyphp. It is used for testing your php forums in your local comp before uploading to your remote comp. I am downloading it right now and i am going to make sure that the same problem does not repeat again. And I am installing my mods with a soft called easymod. I downloaded it from PHPBB.com's mods website. It simplifies mod installations and installs your mods within seconds instaed of the strenous processes of mod installation. Stay Kool -
Coldfusion, PHP, ASP From a confused webmistress
odomike replied to Sanguinairius's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Lolz.....nobody is disliking you Sanguinairius. I am very sorry about my delay before replying to your problem. I had to get off the computer to do some other things but i am back now. There is a very big difference in CGI-BIN, PERL and PHP. The former two programming languages are mostly meant for building static websites while PHP is meant for designing dynamin and interactive websites. When you think of forum designing, you should know that this is an advanced kind of scripting in which the scripits does most of the work without the webmaster doing much of the work. It will be very difficult to design such with CGI-BIN or PERL (i think that will be literally impossible). The major advantage in using PHP is the interactiveness and dynamism of the websites which were created out of it. It isnt as if CGI-BIN and PERL arent good. They are good in their own way. For example, CGI-BIN is very good for writing formmails which behave like your POP3 emails. And PERL is very good for designing wbesites which load very fast in web browsers (even those with 28kb/s speed). The particular one to use in a particular wb designing depends on what the user wants out of the website. For dynamic and interactive websites PHP goes. For formmails CGI-BIN goes and for fast loading websites, PERL and HTML. I hope that helps you in your problem. Stay Kool Pal. -

Hi guys, I recently encountered a bug in my forums which i think is due to a mod i must have installed in my forums. Look at the pic below and tell me what i can do about that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my forums 3 times now due to forum bugs and i dont wanna keep on doing that everytime and loosing my members and all that. Please help me with that. Here is the picture of the debug message i get from my forum whenever i try to view a posted topic od whenever someone wants to register in my forums. So, what can i do about that?

most people use internet explorer simply besacue of the fact that it comes with Windows OS. Nothing more. Nobody will think of going to spend more money on another browser when he gets one inbuilt into his OS.

I haven't tried this easymod yet...but I'd like to install some mods for my phpbb, i have tried to do this before, but i have always messed things up...how does it exactly work and does it work for all mods...and what are the setbacks? easymod is a soft that enables the user to install mods without much troubles. What you have to do is to 1. download it from PHPBB.com/mods 2. unzip the file 3. upload to your public_html/phpbb2/admin/ 4. Go to http://ww38.yoursite.com/phpbb2/admin/mods/easymod_install.php 5. follow the intructions from the soft to complete the installation. The setbacks are that it can mess up your forums at times. I have had to uninstall and reinstall my forums about 3 times now and it is as a result of forum db problems. Right now, I have a bug in my forum. I think that it is as a result of one mod or the other which i installed in my forum. One advice i will give you is to go goooooogling for a soft called easyphp. it will enable you to test your forums and php dbs in your local comp before uploading into your remote server. That way, you will be running minimal risks of db problems.

you are quite right Afrog2. IE6 conttacts viruses a lot and thats why u need a good antivirus program to remove the viruses from your comp. You also need a spyware/adware remover too for the efficiancy of your comp.

i use easymod to install my mods and it makes installation of mods as easy as ABC. goto https://www.phpbb.com/mods/ and find it under mod installations It is a kool soft but it has its setbacks i must warn you.

googlue, you have to understand that the loading of your dns to that of Xisto may take more than 2 - 3days. you just have to be patience and wait for it to set well.Again, you should make sure that the domain that is been hosted for you by Xisto tallies with the uni.cc domain, if not it cannot work and thats that. It happened to me before i learnt my lessons.I will advice you to exercise a lil' more patience on the dns redirection.I hope this helps you.Stay Kool.Any further problems? PM me.
