  1. there are alot of good suggestions above, and I (kindof) know what you are going through; You see, I'm an "only child" but I have 2 step-brothers and a nearly 2 year-old half-sister. Maybe about 2 years ago my step brother (who lives with his dad, and then his mom/my dad on certain days) got into hanging out with drug heads and dropouts that were my age, and he was 12. As you can guess he went down the bad road, and has been through hell since. He's still in the hole.Early this year my Step-mother made him take a drug test, and they found traces of heroin in his system (this was a military grade test BTW), and he went in, and broke out of several rehab clinics, he stole some $200 from the savings my dad and s-mom had setup for my little sister, along with alcohol. He's been through alot (his parents divorce) and I don't blame him for getting how he is, but I wish he could have been more positive, but I know thats very hard. With what I know from the experiences I had you could try to get on your sisters good side, become someone she can confide in; I wouldn't recommend the photo-album as someone mentioned above: for a girl in her situation I think it would be VERY counter-productive, and possibly a fatal move.Try to become her friend, and look for something you or your parents may have done in the past which could have possibly helped her travel down the path she is in. Anything could have happened, and it may not be something which your end could have been responsible for. it could simply be that she wanted to be something different and has taken it to an extreme; I dyed my hair green and dressed thrashy for a couple years, but now I'm a clean cut (although long haired ) ideal member of society, I pay taxes (although 17 ), I obey the law, I don't drink/smoke/do drugs and I do my damnedest in school and I do work for the community, and your sister could have the same swing effect, you never know; but trying to find out, and help guide her like a good big brother is the right thing to do.
  2. here's the script I've hand-typed and have been using for a year or so now, EXACTLY how I have it on my site (copyright BTW) <?php// This php script has been written and designed by Brandon Selvar - http://www.bcsproductions.co.nr/// This code must remain intact in this include for legal useif($page=="") { $page=""; } $complete="".$page.".php";if(file_exists($complete)) { include($complete); }elseif($page=="") include ("welcome.php");else { include ("404.php"); } ?> I don't get an error, it just doesn't happen. I went into the control panel and it says that the include function for local and master are set to OFF, which is disapointing, but url_fopen is on and working just find :? *EDIT* I should note that the welcome.php page include works, but the ?page= include do not. and this script works on all servers with Inlcude turned on
  3. thanks guys; I'm from Washington Mich! not much more NW available 'cept AK eh? Yeah, I'll definitely read the tutorials forum, I'm looking into perfecting my own CMS (I started one, but it's just a unfinished skeleton of what one should be. I'll have to contribute some of the scripts I've written to the tutorials section (they will also be on my website once I sort out this PHP Include dilemma I'm facing). I've been coding for 5-6 years now, and at one point I ran a website (now defunct) for the Metal band Slipknot, which got 1000+ visitors a day, so I have some nose to the grind stone work experiance, along with competitive experience. thanks for the warm welcome
  4. I've tried a couple, but I'm using Limewire right now. I used an EARLY stage of Ares once, but if it truly does have almost no viruses I may have to try it again. Just don't go Kazaa that is terrible and you get almost no good results
  5. So I joined this hosting because of the promoted "no limits" because ALOT of other servers don't allow the use of the PHP fnction include, which is something I'm DEARLY FOND OF; when I posted my pages on my newly hosted site (bselvar.trap17.com) I find that my includes for a ?page= style simple navigation doesn't work. Doesn't that mean there ARE restrictions? and is there a way to enable this?
  6. I would say that yes, this forum probably needs some clean out and organization. and maybe some re-working; it could do some good, and make things a little more sense making (maybe)
  7. thats pretty cool, I didn't know that you could localhost run scripts while offline. hmm... I wounder if my teacher will let me test the theory out on her PC for an assignment
  8. thats pretty cool, alot like the code tester on w3 schools website. but not as secure or with a single page. but thats a good start if you plan to advance it further
  9. Hey all,My (nick)names Anachro, I also go by Nalst (sometimes) and I used to be known as Fugitivedread (yes, from the megadeth song). I've come for hosting, and I suppose some community building. I hope to have a site soon, and if anyone replies to this post, you can expect it to be in future posts.I can code HTML, CSS, PHP, VERY little Javascript, and some other things, and I hope to get a review from ya'll sometime
  10. hahahaha! that website has a altered security warning about how your life isn't safe because you haven't secured your belief in Jesus! :) that is an ugly website; retitle it: rainbow shock Jesus web - Seizures and Faith made easy! :D
  11. you make me very jealous man! every time I think about smashing a Goomba or a Koopa, or playing the old-as-hell Contra games, I get all antsy. to you I bow down, you've still got the power to play these games (as long as you could get them!).it's true what FLaKes said, anyone old enough to remember the SNES, and to of had spent days on it will think back to it and go "DAMN! WHERE'D MINE GO?!?!" and which that they could get one. it's a thing people from that time have. not once have I gone back and gone "Gee, where'd my gameboy go?" or "wow, whatever happened to bad 3d?" something about that time is sooo desirable!this makes me want to risk getting a fake SNES from Ebay
  12. my first was an Atari (wish I still had it )um...1. Atari2. Super Nintendo3. Gameboy pocket4. Gameboy Color5. N646. Play station 27. Game Cube8. Xbox9. Xbox 360my first game was PAC-MAN (BOO YA!), and my most recent is Eternal Sonata (got it yesterday )
  13. besides some statistical comparisons:360 only plays standard definition DVDs & requires a 100$ extension to play HDDVDs while the PS3 plays Blueray discs right out of the box.The 360 does have it's strangeness, such as it requires an update (online only) to play SSX: on tour, while it will blast through SSX 3 with ease, and other strange backwards compatible kinks, it is VERY easy to use, and has (for me) only frozen a few times, and thats only while loading large files after many many many many many hours of play. also, you get games like Halo 3, Eternal Sonata, Skate [is that for ps3 also?], and ES4: Oblivion & the expansions [ps3 doesn't get the expansions], and tons more.the only scary part is the updates; while updating if power is cut all the software on you 360 gets erased, and when you do disk updates they will shut down suddenly for restart (that scared the crap out of me at first :'-( )I do like it though, and the controllers feel nicer
  14. I used to sell the things, so I know a bit...1. don't goto Sears, we don't seem to carry it EVER!2. buy a nun chuck if you can when you buy the console, it doesn't come w/ one, and lots of games need it.3. if you're for blood and gore, and lots of it, go for a different consoleotherwise, I've heard it's very hard for some games, and if you a big Legend of Zelda freak, and a critical about each game you'll be mad to find out that the world is inverted from the gamecube version because of how the system operates (or something), and that also if your into guitar hero, prepare to be weirded out when the guitar vibrates when you miss a note (if you get it).generally (as you've seen above this post), it IS a fun console, and you can always try and play it for awhile at your local mall
  15. although a bit complex for me (I think ) it sounds like a sound idea, and might work! try it (but on a test blog) first before selling your idea out (whether or not for money)
  16. woa! thats pretty cool! I like the art, and you're a great programmer evidently. it's alot for a dial-up user (OMG I know!) like myself, but it was worth the wait. I agree that sound would be cool, but that would be a killer for loading quickness for me (but we dial-up people tend to have patience).inventive scroll bar. not very obvious. but good loading bars and sequences.overall it's great, unique, but not for the people with the fear that if they put there mouse in the wrong place their computer will blow up, whom of which I know several
  17. hmm.. well I wish could give you some positive feedback, but most unfortunately you forgot to pay your bill... or something. I get the big ol' banner when I try to access your website, so other than to so 'PAY YOUR BILLS!" I can give no review
