  1. Not a bad tutorial. I do have a question though....I understand that this is just for if you are hosting it on your own pc, but what if you are wanting to host on a dedicated server?(like remotely)If you know anything about that I'd be greatly interested. Been thinking of hosting other games as well but I wouldn't even know where to start, being that I have no idea how to actually access the servers to install files and whatnot.Regardless, great job on the tutorial, and keep it up!

  2. I don't use my cell phone that often either....Very rarely. Most of the time mine's actually dead due to not being charged. Regardless, I know how hard it is going without a technology you use quite often(for example Ipods, laptops, tv's, etc.) but at the same time...All of these are a way of life. You need them to keep up with news, you need a phone to keep up with your job, etc.

  3. I've heard a lot of bad things about consoles. The issue is generally that they overheat....It'd be best to get one of those cooling things...I can't think of what it's called off the top of my head but there are third party coolers for things like the 360.As far as I know that's what causes all of the issues, is overheating. Also, ensure that it's not in an enclosed area or the air can't get to it and it will overheat as well.

  4. I prefer intels but just because it's what everyone recommends...In the past my understanding was that AMD was best for gaming but lately everyone says Intel is so it's hard to really know what is really better. At the moment I would just hang out with the dual core instead of quad core though due to prices....Quad costs more now but when it's actually needed it will be much much cheaper.

  5. Just wanted to toss up my 2 cents.Anything that is "free" has some kind of catch. Especially when it sounds too good to be true.I have been through many, many free hosts that have had issues. Some are due to lack of features, some are due to lag, others are due to crashes.Really this is the best one that I've found so far, and only requires posting, which isn't too bad.Aside from that I have used probably around 60 other hosts and none of them offered the uptime I desired.Even with this, however, there's a catch. It's free but you must be active on the forums, :)

  6. I would say go with what the second poster said and just go with an average weight.Myself, I didn't know that it was so complicated. I was wondering why a lot of companies will do a flat rate of let's say 4.95 a book, even when the book is only 99 cents or whatever.Going with a median range though should be the most efficient way to go as it's faster and people will know even before they are ready to purchase a book how much the cost will be. It is nice being able to just say "Oh, 4.95 for first item and 1.00 per item thereafter" before even shopping. Let's you see ahead of time what the overall cost will most likely be.

  7. I'm confused as well....I'm thinking that if you really can make the sites that easily that will "earn money" then each extra person that creates one will cause the total of money being earned per person to drop. Along with this you did not mention the marketing side of the site...You have to get users to go to your site, before you can get the money from advertisements.

  8. I've always felt that being obese and all has nothing to do with what you eat, but rather by your physical conditions. For example, in the army, when in the field you will eat MRE's. These each have ~7500 calories. You will eat 3 a day. But yet you will still lose weight. Why? Because you are active. The health issues and all come from the lack of being active, not so much due to what you eat. There are of course some things that you must eat to stay "healthy," however it is not as important.

  9. I would say to go with advertisers. If your site has enough visitors you can get some of the better programs out there that will pay decently. Like for example some will pay $3 per 1000 visitors a day. But if you have 500k people coming per day it adds up fast. Really just depends on your activity on the site.

  10. My understanding is that men can not be pregnant. There is 1)Not enough room for the baby to grow, and 2)How would the baby be fed? It has to go thru the umbilical cord. Men's bodies would not create these because our bodies are not made to do so. Even if it did, the body wouldn't know to separate the nutrients from other stuff and send it into there. I just don't see any possible way of it actually happening due to all of the complications.

  11. 110mb

A big name in the hosting world today, indeed.

I remember back in the days, 110mb offered LOTS of amazing features, despite the fact they couldn't keep them. I talked to support, they were about 2 - 3 people controlling it all. It was nice ! Don't get me wrong, anyway. On to my POINT.

We all (or some of us) remember 110mb as the best host possible! (Sorry, even better than Xisto :)) But what it has become now is really bad.

First of all - They brag too much about their "amazing" offer.

    They offer things such as:

2 GB FTP100GB Bandwidth10 SQL DatabasesFTP Access110DBManager (better then phpMyAdmin)

Etcetera etcetera. Let's take a look!

I have an account on 110mb, i log in to my panel. And i see a FRESH REDESIGN of the LayeredPanel script. (they also talk a lot about them recoding it all etc, CARE!)

Regarding the new LIMITS, due to "hackers" and "abusers", they had to lock down the entire list of REGULAR features you can get ANYWHERE.

Now - You must PURCHASE (What happened to FREE!?) access to one and one feature! Here's the list:

    Sendmail ON - 5$

    Register_Globals ON - 1.50$

Turn ON MySQL Database Support - 9.95$

Turn ON .htaccess Support - 5$

    Turn ON CGI/Perl/Python/Sendmail/Htaccess - 9.95$

Total Ammount of money needed for all features: 31.40$

So.. WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR "FREE" IMAGE?

The moment i saw this, i was outrageous! Oh yes! MAD and FURIOUS!

I liked their host the way it was.

Sure - They get problems with abusers using SENDMAIL to abuse etc, but that's no big bomb! I'd certainly pay a buck or two as "insurance" for that I won't abuse anyone with my website, but the fact I need to pay for ALL OF THESE (STANDARD) features!? HELL NO!

110mb - I just don't understand WHY... WHY RESTRICT the MySQL Databases to 10$ ? (ok 9.95, whatever.) For 10$ - I could get almost 2 months hosting at the world's best host (*at the time posted, it has the highest rated reviews*), and they offer 8 times more than you do!

Why did you TAKE AWAY your GREAT looking "FREE 4 LIFE" brand - And replace it with pesky price tags for normal features?

Seriously 110mb, you just lost one valuable and loyal customer. And he's not returning again, unless you improve. (Then again - Why listen to 1 free user's complaints, move along! The others will surely use 32$ on FREE hosting *cough*).

Just my 2 cents... I just needed to get this out, to everyone.

    -Atthack

I want to say that this is what a lot of companies end up doing. Some of them even lie about the true reasons. Think of it like trial software...

A company makes a program fully functional for free(Take Trillian for example). After a year they then disable half of the features and charge you to use them. This is a normal marketing technique because it allows people to understand exactly how the program will work, thereby giving better chances of purchasing the paid version. This is what a lot of hosts are doing as well. They get you to trust them and then do this in hopes it will boost your desire to host with them on paid plans.

  12. I would say that in a sense it's possible. Think of it this way. A heart attack can be caused by a sudden scare or something very severe. This could happen as a result of something that happened in a dream.I know I, for example, sometimes wake up in the middle of the night due to a nightmare or whatever. This shows me that it is definitely possible to have something severe happen in a dream being that I actually remember it.Technically the dream itself wouldn't kill you, it'd be the heart beat or whatever that is caused from it.That's my view, :)

  13. My understanding is that we dream because although we are "asleep" our mind is never shut down. The only real difference is that you in a sense lose control of your current thoughts. Something I have a question about though is....Everyone says you will dream about whatever you are thinking about when you fall asleep. That never happens to me. There are tons of times that I have something on my mind and end up dreaming about something completely different.

  14. I just don't understand why people do NOT believe in God. What negative can come from it? It's not even like he says that you must live your life in perfect harmony and never get in trouble. In fact, all he says is that you must believe in him and you will live an everlasting life. How hard is that? Let's assume for a minute that he did *not* exist. Did it really hurt to believe? Think of it this way.Santa Claus. You don't believe and you will never get presents from family. Now you do believe and you do get presents. Although he is not real, which was more beneficial? To believe.

  15. I don't believe that weight really has to do with your food intake, as much as your metabolism and activity. For example, during Basic Training in the US Army, we were eating 8500 calorie meals 3 times a day when out in the field. I know of people who would flip out with 2000 in one full day. But at the same time we all lost massive weight due to the fact that we were constantly active.I'm pretty sure there are many other cases to back this up as well, but I firmly believe that what you eat doesn't have to do with weight as long as you're not just sitting around all day, every day.

  16. Okay, so last night everything worked fine. I loaded up cpanel, fixed issues with the site after the database move, etc.Today I'm unable to load up the site. It just keeps giving me ping timeouts. With what I'm being told by others it is only me having this issue with my site, and yet there have been 0 changes to my pc between it working and not. I have tried multiple times during the day with no luck.Along with this, if I load my website using a proxy service then I do not have any issues. The only time it will not allow me to access it is if I am "using" my own IP.Any insight or help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  17. Not sure what the issue is. I cannot even load up any of the cpanel's to allow me to put in a password.I have tried the link that is located in the Credit System 2.0I have tried the links with subdomain/cpanelI have tried the links with subdomain:2082All 3 of these just give page load errors. Please note : This isn't a "my password doesn't work" thread. This is a "I can't even get cpanel to TRY to load" thread. Thanks in advance.

  18. http://www.funnyjunk.com/ is by far the most annoying site that I have ever seen. Check it out, ;)

Some of them that you guys found issues with I didn't....But I use FireFox and stuff - popups don't come up for me, and even the "blinking links" in the first post never showed up for me...Visited the site and never saw anything wrong.

I think that some people just try to bring more attention to their site and don't notice that although it DOES make people notice them, it causes people to leave as well.
