  10. I was reading a book the other day and read a word used in this joke, very slowly...JOKE #1 - PS: It may sound si,ilar to one you have heard before...There are two sisters, one blonde and one brunette, and theyinherit the family ranch. Unfortunately, after just a few years, they are infinancial trouble. In order to keep the bank from repossessing the ranch, they need to purchase a bull from the stockyard in a far town so thatthey canbreed their own stock. They only have $600 left. Upon leaving, the brunette tells her sister, "When I get there, if I decide to buy the bull,I'll contact you to drive out after me and haul it home."The brunette arrives at the stockyard, inspects the bull, anddecides she wants to buy it. The man tells her that he will sell it for $599,no less. After paying him, she drives to the nearest town to send hersister a telegram to tell her the news. She walks into the telegraph office, and says, "I want to send a telegram to my sister telling her that I'vebought a bull for our ranch. I need her to hitch the trailer to our pickuptruck and drive out here so we can haul it home."The telegraph operator explains that he'll be glad to help her, then adds,"It's just 99 cents a word." Well, after paying for the bull, the brunetteonly has $1 left. She realizes that she'll only be able to send her sisterone word. After a few minutes of thinking, she nods and says, "I want you tosend her the word 'comfortable'." The operator shakes his head. "Howis she ever going to know that you want her to hitch the trailer to yourpickup truck and drive out here to haul that bull back to your ranch ifyou send her just the word, 'comfortable'?"The brunette explains, "My sister's blonde. The word's big. She'llread it very slowly ... com-for-da-bul."

  14. I am trying to upload my Content Management System to my website but I am having some issues. I need a good FTP client that is stable and will allow me to upload about 5mb of files to a directory in under half an hour. I have tried lots, too many to name, If you would kindly tell me which apps to be using for fast and stable transfers. I wish I could connect it to it by going in Windows explorer: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ As that is apparently very fast and easy drag and drop to transfer. Some Apps I have tried. [*]SMART FTP [*]FILEZILLA [*]WS FTP [*]SW FTP LE [*]WS FTP PRO 07 TRIAL [*]FTP NAVIGATOR [*]FTP SYNCRONIZER and many, many more.

  22. Call of Duty 4 is it everything they say it will be?Overview:Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. It will be the eighth installment in the Call of Duty video game series (including expansions), the first not to be set during World War II, and the first to be rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB. It was announced on April 25, 2007, and will be released worldwide on November 5, 2007.The Setting:The game is set in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.[4] The developers have indicated that they may also utilize additional locations, according to Game Informer.According to Grant Collier, one of Infinity Ward's co-leads, the game is not set in an existing conflict:Plot:A Russian nationalist by the name of Zakhaev is set on returning his homeland to the Soviet times. Zakhaev knows the United States would never allow this to happen, thus he funds a coup in the Middle East, organized by his ally al-Asad, to draw attention away from Russia. The two men and their seconds-in-command gain the nickname The Four Horsemen. However, the British and US governments have been monitoring Zakhaev's activities and discover his real intentions. The story is told from a perspective of a British 22nd SAS Regiment operative in Russia and American 1st Force Recon in the Middle East.I currently Play Call Of Duty 2 on PC online, and I thought that was a breathtaking game, but when COD4 comes out...WAHOO!Kind Regards,Bradley Kirwan
  23. Console specifications are a lot like statistics in that you can really change perceptions by paying special attention in selecting what you measure and how you go about measuring it. Microsoft may have been the first manufacturer to announce its next-generation console, but in order to gain that advantage Microsoft also had to reveal its console specs first--giving a fat target-list for Sony's marketing team. Do you really think that Sony would have even mentioned the 51-billion-dot-product-operations per second number during the PS3 press conference if Microsoft hadn't boasted that the Xbox 360 could do 9-billion-dot-product-operations per second? What if we told you that Sony combined the CPU and GPU performance numbers to come up with the 51-billion number while Microsoft only reported its CPU performance number? The Xbox 360 actually has 33.6-billion-dot-product-operations per second if you also include GPU performance. We're not saying to ignore specifications altogether--most of them are relevant in some way or another. And we're going to talk about the specifications that really jumped out at us at first glance. Let's start with the processor. Sony has announced that the PlayStation 3 will have a 3.2GHz Cell processor that consists of a PowerPC-based core with seven synergistic processing units. The PS3 spec-sheet says that there's an eighth SPE reserved for redundancy--whatever that means. The Xbox 360, in comparison, has a multicore PowerPC processor that has three dual-threaded cores that can handle six total threads at a time. You might be able to call the Cell's SPEs overgrown math units, but we think Sony's Cell processor wins from a brute power perspective. Notice from rvalkass: Please try and avoid making duplicate topics. I have merged this with the existing topic on this subject. Also, please stop signing off your posts - its against the rules.
