  4. @carson hey Carson... That offer is still there. Actually i got the domain from Yahoo. And the offer that you were saying about is not $2.99...its $1.99 and that too only for the new members and again only for the first year. From the second year regular charges apply... But this offer will not be visible in the home page. Do a little search in google and go to that offer page. https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains?p=bestdeal The above is the page where you will see the $1.99 offer (only for the first year). The cpanel is good and easy in yahoo to do configuration, though i have never used godaddy. I am pretty much satisfied with what yahoo provides (atleast as a beginner....these things are enough for me).
  5. Hurray..... I have got one more idea. I just don know where i get these weird things in my head... May be because of prolonged usage of gmail. 1. Forward all selected messages. This is like you select many messages at a time and forward them to a mail ID. This again is only very specific. But we will find it very useful if it comes. Example 1: you want to include some people in the conversation that has been taking place over some time...In this case you can select all the conversations that took place and forward it to them. Example 2: Also there is one more use (i say...). This will help you in taking backups of important mails... (I know...this is a crude method). Like you can select messages and forward to someother ID of yours for backup purpose... So..start thinking. You will find new uses for this feature. And also i guess this won't be that difficult to implement. Add your suggestions.
  6. I am sure that many people would have heard of ICE number in Mobile phones. For those of you, who do not know abt this please spend some time in the next few paras. We all carry our mobile phones with hundreds of names/ numbers stored in its memory but yet nobody, other than ourselves, know which of these numbers belong to whom? In case we are involved in an accident or had a heart attack and the people attending us get hold of our mobile phone but don't know which number to call to inform our family members. Yes, there are many numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? For this reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored under the name ICE (In case of Emergency) in our mobile phones.Recently, the concept of "ICE" is catching up quickly. It is simple, an important method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by majority of the population, just store the number of a contact person or person who should be contacted at during emergency as ICE" (meaning In Case of Emergency). The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as " ICE". So...don't just stop here. Take your cell phones and do the necessary. This is a request people. Do let others know about this.

  9. Hi people... I am in great need. Looking forward for your help. I am in the process of getting a domain name...but got into the mess of selecting an domain name provider. From suggestions i have short listed the list to 2. It will be either godaddy.com or from Yahoo Domains. But from the reviews, i can see that both the providers have pros and cons... But i want to be with the better provider. Also my concern is with 1. Ease of use 2. Easy configuration 3. Easy to manage 4. Full Control 5. Feature rich 6. No issues -- like selling your domains to others.... I am mentioning this because there has been some issues like this -- More about that here 6. Support (both email and phone) and of course the plan should be cheap. Please advice me on this.

  12. Ya... i too agree that people do mistakes. But here we are speaking about life people. This industry is as such very critical....so the people involved should also be extra careful.
  13. Wonder what that term is all about?? To be right some people refer to it as Dr. Death. Iatrogenic deaths are deaths caused by doctors, medicines, infections etc. during a treatment. This has become a very serious issue. Researchers also believe that Iatrogenesis is the leading cause of death in the world though we don have enough data to prove that because many people come to know of the symptoms late after the treatment. But it has been proved that Iatrogenesis is the major killer in the US leaving heart diseases and Cancer behind. See link for real data and research. In many other countries though this may be the reason it is not recorded and goes out of notice due to various reasons... Few reasons that causes these complications are... 1. Improper clinical procedures .... 2. Carelessness ... (there are cases...) 3. Infections.... 4. Wrong medicines.... (See this link for dangerous and illegal drugs) etc... So...finally it comes to individuals discretion as to take care of their own. It is also important to take care of things after health complications and stop it at the earliest. I know that it is difficult...but atleast you know there are things like this after reading this and can be cautious. For more details and links for additional information visit this post by me.
  14. @chaosdesignI guess You must be one of the network administrators. ... just kidding. You are right.... But i was just curious to post because,.... i was happy that i discovered this.@hitmanbloodI am happy that they blocked...was able to get other ways and end up in group chat.
  15. Thanks a lot... Ya... there are some disadvantages in making messages public, but that again depends on the discretion of the user. There is an option like that in googlegroups where the discussions can be made searchable. Also the amount of useful information in mail discussions among people be it technology, news, information etc. is very high and reliable. But what so ever i have to agree with you... if at all google thinks of doing that...it would be a mess...
  16. Group chat is possible in this gadget which is not possible otherwise.Invite all your friends and discuss things.Have fun and enjoy.Post your reviews here.
  17. Ya...that would be just great. If at all we have such a service we would be able to form relations with almost all people win the world. Like i add some information about me and all characters involved can be linked to their profiles and so on.Then at one point you will be linked to almost all in one way or the other. Also there need not be any friends as such since everything is linked. Also like articles in wiki, individuals can do events of their own and link to others profiles and events(There is much possibility that more than one is involved in a particular event.).The idea is just great...hats off.
  18. This term is not so popular, but the concept(Collaborative Tagging) behind is widely used nowadays. This was made popular by the widely discussed Web 2.0. Folksonomy refers to public tagging or labelling and extracting/searching/obtaining data from that. You can take del.icio.us [social Bookmarking site] for an instance wherin you bookmark sites under various categories and that is searchable by others too... To be precise, people sort contents into better categories than bots and that help others online to get more relevant data. This became popular after these social networking and colloboration sites. And also it is true that people know what they want better that these automated bots do. So these tagging and labeling of various sites, webpages, photos etc helps others too... Folksonomy is the base on which Semantic Web is built, which has metadata instead of tags/labels in machine readable format. There are many services built upon this theory. Imagelabeler is a Collaborative Tagging Game from google where you label random images along with some unknown partner. So...if you and your partner tag the image with same name your point increases and another image is loaded. This helps to analyze what people exactly want. This in turn help their image search feed better results. Flickr also enables users to search for images based on labels applied to them. What about Meta Noise ??? That problem is yet to be addressed... Links http://www.folksonomy.org/ http://www.vanderwal.net/folksonomy.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborative_tagging
  19. There is more than stumbling in Stumbleupon.com. You can also discover sites, which is more like submitting sites to directory and that in turn stumbled upon by other users, reviewed and the cycle goes on. The more users thumbs up the sites the more it turns back to many users. Recently i had some problem in submitting a site and found that it happens due to some problem with the installation of the extension. The fix is quite simple. visit this site to re-install the plug-in and after that it should work just fine. This is mainly due to various releases made and the plug-in do not get updated automatically. Also stumbleupon is much better than del.icio.us, digg and other social bookmarking sites in its working as it brings in random contents of your preference and rated instantly and is a great tool for increasing the traffic of a website. One thing to be noted that invalid contents cannot survive for a long time and also you cannot keep submitting your own sites and blogs as it is tracked based on usage. So all in all dependable. This is also a great tool for New webmasters once you know to use it properly. Wont work when you keep discovering only your blogs and posts. Users behaviour is in track and stumbling 20 sites and submitting one of your post will do justice.
