I use Avant Browser, some people don't like it because its one of those based off IE but it optimizes your connection. Avant Browser also has a very good blocker built into it that can disable about anything that you don't want to appear on a website.

I'm going to add-on to what others have said and say go with SmartFTP, pretty good.

If we have more people to help they should be a help team and not a setup team. You should have to wait for hosting and not be impatient because after all it is free so you should be thankful its even being given out.
