Two thumbs up!If you don't know what it's about, a woman and her fiance are brutally attacked in New York. She barely makes it, but he isn't so lucky. She decides to protect herself and ends up becoming a vigilante.Very well done, very realistic. And they give the audience a lot of credit. They know that most of the audience already knows that the cops aren't going to be able to do much and that a woman in her place would need to protect herself.I would definitely recommend this movie. I want to tell you the end so much, but you better just go watch it yourself.

This is a very deep topic and you made some good points. I think you really hit on something when you mentioned believing in an after-life because you can't imagine not existing. Personally I think that is a big reason most people so easily believe in an after-life.It is very difficult to think of ourselves as just a product of our brains. We feel like we must be eternal. It doesn't make sense that we would stop existing. As you mentioned, where would our consciousness go?But where does our consciousness go when we are asleep (and not dreaming)? Where was our consciousness before we were born?I believe that our brain / mind / consciousness are the result of evolution. According to Jeff Hawkins, the main goal of our mind is to predict the future (the very near future). We can visualize ourselves in the future because it is useful for our survival and reproduction. There would be no benefit to visualizing ourselves no longer existing and so we can't do it.Admittedly that is a very simplified explanation.

How To Change The Default Icon Of Hard Drive In My Computer
robcozzens replied to Soby's topic in General Discussion
Fantastic! You would think that by now, changing the icon would be something that the operating system let you do automatically.I'll have to keep this in mind -- especially for CDs and DVDs.Do you know if this method would work for video DVDs? -
Do you mean card games like Magic the Gathering or multi-player computer games? If you mean card games, you should check out the game stores in your area and see if they already have game parties. If so, you could ask about what would go into hosting another one. If not, they might be able to help you find out if it is something that might be worthwhile with how many gamers are in the area.If you're talking about computer games, check Google to see if there are already LAN parties in your area and attend one of them. If there aren't any, check online multiplayer forums and see if there are a lot of gamers in your area. If so you might be able to set up a LAN party with them.If there are not a lot of gamers in your area, you'll probably be limited to online game parties.Good luck.

Darn it! I thought from the title, that you were really going to have suggestions on how to get free food... legally. I must admit that those ideas could work, but I already knew that I could steal food.Another way to get free food (that doesn't feel like stealing for most people) is to go to Costco and eat the free samples.

Pixar Dishes Up Another Great Movie In Ratatouille
robcozzens replied to TikiPrincess's topic in General Discussion
Ratatouille is a really good movie. Like all Pixar movies it is beautiful.I don't think it was quite as good as The Incredibles though. There were a couple parts that seemed to drag a little. If they had edited it down about 15 minutes it could have been perfect.I love the overall concept. -
Losing Quality With Animations. Question.
robcozzens replied to savge17's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Animated gifs are not very good if you have a lot of subtle color. They work really good for images with flat colors like cartoons. The software you are using probably has options for how many colors to compress to (and whether to dither or not). Try increasing the colors (you should be able to go up to 256).You should be able to change the playback speed as well.
