  1. I also agree that flickr is the best so far. Image resolution is top notch. you can also invite friends and add them and such. unless you want a social something kinda site like https://myspace.com/browser or http://www.friendster.com/ (about 800x640 resolution).. I suggest, if you dont have much files to upload, then host your own site to make it more personal to your taste. There are a lot of Free PHP PhotoAlbum scripts out there for your taking..
  2. When my year old son had his teeth, it had been darkening like rust on one of his tooth in front that its iron supplement causes.. I know that there is nothing to worry about because it would just come out soon.. But i couldnt wait for 6 years for it to be replace.. I dont want my son looking like a candy cracking toddler.. Ive been looking around the net and only found the baking soda solution but i already made it a habit on him for about a month but nothing has change ever since.. It even made him threw up his milk..I havn't went to the pedia-dentist yet since it is too expensive.. hehehe.. anyway, if there are anyone with the same problem or idea in this matter, help me.. nice healthy white teeth is a must!
  3. I dont see the point in making a bootable linux to fix jobs on emergency cases in Windows. I do think most PCs out there have a CD drive to better boot in making emergency repairs and backups. Personally, I just use this handy dandy BartPE. Whats nice about it is that it has almost everything you need from anti-virus to registry editor to a boring games for waiting status upon repairing. It has huge collection of freeware programs that can really dissect your PC. It can also connect you to the internet since it can have network support upon booting. It loads fast on my PC than the usual boot on USB. You can see all your files NTFS or FAT unlike those bootable DOS drive that only limits to FAT. For those who are really fanatic on booting on USB to impress you friends on how you spend useless money on flash disk, there is also a conversion on CD to USB on BartPE. What the only negative would be.. 1st, you must have a copy of Windows XP installation and reading its instructions! Its quite short but many things might go wrong, I just hope they just come up with pre-setup ISO for easy burning that could end up on Microsoft Legal Craps. Here are the links anyway! Go ahead and try IT! BartPE Site PE Builder to USB Flash Drive (UFD)
  4. Yup.. In the real Christian tradition, Christmas holiday starts at the Dec 25 and ends on the 1st Sunday of January since it is the celebration of the Three Wise Men(Formerly Called Three Kings but they were really not). I am half blooded Chinese, like most of us here also which is why most mixed up traditions and religion collide with the coming of the Chinese New Year(RAT), so it becomes more festive and a lot to spend on which is why Philippines is poor but always happy. hehehe.
  5. In our internet cafes here nowadays, they have printing services like no other, a single copy using a photopaper would only cost you less that 25cent US, this is all because of cheaper inks and better ink systems. Before I was still skeptical since I have a printing business with 5 inkjet printer varying from HPs and Epsons and 2 HP Laser printers and a humble dot matrix printer for mimeographing jobs. I tried to look for better alternative since much of the CIS systems here are sold at higher price. I stumbled upon a Chinese site that they claimed they are a factory that make them. And so, I bought 2 systems for my Epsons. It was so great and the prinouts where even much better than the original pigmented ink! Never mind about what Epson claims about quality! It is Quality that I am seeing. Plus I purchase 2 in the price of one here in our little City and that includes shipment. Now that I was convince that CIS systems are the way to go, I ran out of ink and tried to purchase in our local stores some ink since I was in need at that time and its only for consumables that Im buying. Darn! I was doped! the ink was diluted and the printouts was awful. I thought that it would be okay, now that I have to clean-up everything.. Grr!!! and who says China products are bad! Im a pro Chinese products now! Today, I also bought 2 of my HPs with CIS and its all because of them, I have an even better printshop and better outputs that our internet cafes here. Ill post some pics on office where I have a printing bay! dont have a pic right now.. For those interested on CIS on their printer, visit http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ They have a very good customer service even if you dont purchase a bulk order. Never mind about their English... Just make them understand what you need. hehehe. Please, be sure to risk your printer on the process of installing the system, Now all of their instructions on installations are recent for those with newer printers.
  6. Well, after a few days since I got the host, I am trying to be online most of the time and trying to find relevant topics to reply or to post on. I have registered in the forums a few months ago and I didnt bother whether to post or not. Now that I am obligated to do so, wheeew! its been a soul searching adventure just to find something worth posting and not spamming or what... You have to give more credit for this... As for the service, I am still getting familiar with the new things I see that my previous free hosting doesn't have.. As for now, its really pretty neat! I just love all the nice stuff present that I dont see from the other hosters.
  7. I dont like yahoo messenger chat since their network seems to be so slow. I dont know how to go into multiple channels and other options. I usually get Indian people over at our regional areas and sometimes it is just too slow and annoying. I am still a traditional MIRC chat user and Messenger/Chat really does not work out quite fine.
  8. Look how simple it looks and how nice it comes out. Ill try that sometimes
  9. this is not likely to be an issue on whats what and whos who... everyone has their own preferred distro. thats why there are hell of a bunch of them. with all the features and issues with it.. i have been in so many distro and a regular visitor of http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and i love the way every distro compete. about 8 years ago when the linux scene became to increase the number of users, i also eager to join except that i dont have broadband before and access to it would really be time and money consuming. but for those linux geeks out there, here is my best choices of distro for different uses. High End System - 3Ghz Processor, 2Gig Ram, 512Mb Video Sabayon - With its fully functional 3D graphics out of the box! Mid Range System 2Ghs Processor, 512 Ram, 128Mb Video Ubunto - Very Easy Interface with easy to update and install programs and becoming industry standard(never mind about the criticisms from the geeky linux PROS) Low End System - Basically what you can get from the garbage can which I have a lot of them Zenwalk - So damn easy to use and install that has everything a standard PC OS should have. Really fast and no crap linux under 500mb! Great people and support! A++ even for newbies
  10. Filezilla! A+. I am usually on the go with my 2 USB disk with me. When I do updates, I really cant go without it.. That is why I have this Fillzilla that is released be http://portableapps.com/ which can be stored and run in the disk. great for those on the go. Ive tried cuteftp but they all have the same thing to it, not much of a use.
  11. Good Moring to everyone! I do hope that all your gifts are already prepared tonight. Here in the Philippines, we are having a "Nuche Buena"(Holiday Feast) after a "Simbang Gabi"(Night Mass). The Mass starts around 9PM till 10:30 to open the up-coming day. Everybody gets excited since everyone here, Muslims and other religion are anticipating the event. No one is asleep, parties everywhere and in houses, Rich and Poor alike have their Best Food in the table. After the Noche Buena, it would be the opening of the Gifts and on the next day, everyone is resting since it is a Non Working Holiday! How about in your country?
  12. laptop on school? laptop on each kid.. unlikely. having laptop is nice.. but i just like it to be in a computer lab or in the library or at home. one thing is for sure, i dont want my kid to be looking like a geek, watching porn all day and chatting nonsense during his free time. yup, they say that exposure to technology could give an edge.. isnt the labs, libs and home pc good enough? whats wrong with books? environmentally not friendly???? this is just one of those too much commercialization of corporations and tech fanatics that dont know much of early childhood development..
  13. As long as it is backward compatible and the sockets are the same, thats fine by me. I still operate in USB 1.1 devices you know and I have hubs on that that runs 6 slightly modified printer under a crossover network. hehehe
  14. I am using Avast since I had an internet cafe 3 years ago and until now, I am still happy about it. Though there are still a lot of virus that penetrated my PC.. especially newer USB type that is locally distributed, I have not been brought down. One thing I just didnt like about it is that I hogs a lot of resources during update and I have one older system that just couldnt keep up with it. I dont know why but it is just making it too slow. which is why I switched to Zenwalk Linux.. now, antivirus seems not necessary to it anymore. AVG is too cluttered and AntiVIR just wont do. Norton Sucks with all the commercialization and the rest, I dont want to try...
  15. hahaha.. a long time ago when the internet is still expensive, i spend like 150Pesos - 4 dollars for four 3 hours of internet time a day.. now that i have unlimited broadband, well, i just leave it there for torrents but the addition still lives on.. when I get disconnected, i feel like i lost someone in the family.
  16. Im a fan of online multiplayer games that you build imaginary towns and attack someone else.. i forgot the name... Im also into ragnarok, I know you need a lot of things with it when you want to host. I have a 250mbishhh free hosted site and is there a nice php/sql kinda game that i could put to my site so that me and my friends could hook into?
  17. there is this one from https://sourceforge.net/ and its called pinoymail or somesort, just look it up there.. I am planning to put this one on our site but my mail problem is that its a little too simple for a webmail. i need more features such as the commercial http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or the one from Beer co that I forgot the name that looks like PhpBB
  18. nope... what i mean is, i have a virtual hosting but it limits me to have only 5 mail address but I can have a catch all service so that any XXXX@mydomain.com goes to that address.. I need a php/sql script that converts it into database and makes a mail system. just like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but it is commercial... if its easy to install, the better...
  19. With your current specs, I think it is good to run Vista but in terms of speed, I don't think your gonna like it. First of all, Vista Ultimate is so damn slow when using only 512 or 1Gb of Ram. Ive tried using it in 2 of my system with only a 1Gb of RAM and I was not impress with it(Aero was even not enabled).. I suggest increasing your RAM.. Intel 945GM is good enough for Aero since it is has Shaders 2 support... Just give it a try anyhow.
  20. I want to have a webmail service on my site.. Does anybody know any Free/Opensource Webmail Software.. I have a 1 catch-all account and want a webmail similar to SocketMail (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) since I want the members of our organization or visitors to create their own account.please help.. thanks
  21. i tried using those recovery softwares before but it only shows me millions of filenames that i didnt even know. sad thing in loosing data from formatting is that it would take a lot of time and most of the time, recovered documents are even destroyed or needs to do some editing. how much data size are we talking about here? i used Getdataback.. i forgot the like, just google it; it recovered like 50% and a lot of editing with the document...
  22. I use Avast. in my internet cafe 2 years ago and until now on my home pc i still use Avast. About 4 years ago i used AVG, it was also free but what i dont like is that the interface is too cluttered, a lot of new viruses still infects my pcs, its a little slower in scanning and it always reminds me to buy the thing...A friend of mine also liked AntiVir, it detects new virus fast.
  23. I dont think that freewares are opensource. opensource gives out the code unlike the freeware counterpart with all the licensing envolve. To know the best open source programs go to https://www.osalt.com/ to find alternatives for those programs that are damn expensive and too proprietary.
  24. For me basically, not a racist or anything, its just not culturally nice looking for a black guy to be the next karate kid. Im not white either but it just dont look well in film. Have you seen Rush Hour Series... It looks funny and the action sequence is too funny. I would prefer japanese or chinese or any asian looking feller to take such a role. white guys dont look nice either except russian who are better looking. I love the Karate Kid series. Even the girl one.
  25. I am always an opensource fan.. I go for MySql!!! It is also the only database that I tried to use. I doesnt really matter for me as long as it is easy as MS Access! hehe.. I dont have a choice anyway since i am using LAMP on my ZenWalk Linux Box and I use XAMPP on my Windows box.
