Well on my Vista Box, and on the Microsoft Website it says: "Minimum RAM: 1GB" I don't think Microsoft normally lies about recommendations. I suppose every system is different, but, Vista would run rather slow with only 512MB I would think. When I had only 1GB it ran poorly, once I upgraded to 3GB it ran beautifully! Minus the bugs. :]

Don't Click It Website! Interesting.
korireed replied to darkranger's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That is entirely too COOL!I want to know how they do it! Ha!I think that the elimination of the click would be so cool! I love it!I hope to see this go further, much further! What a GREAT FIND!! -
You are correct in stating that that is a horrible Web site. Not only is it hard as heck on the eyes, it's poorly structured and needs to be removed from the Internet this instant. Also, doesn't the rainbow background kind of CONFLICT with the religious messages?I mean, the rainbow is like, the call sign of the Gay Community...ya' know?Total paradox in my opinion, total paradox.

Haha! This generated a very interesting site name for me!I'm considering it! Heheheheh. But yeah, Name Generators just give you TYPICAL site names that aren't at all exciting. They rhyme...that's it. Ha! -

53 CSS Techniques You Couldn't Live Without

The shadow on the images was killer! I really love that! The two images didn't look at all different to me!But then again, maybe I am just plain blind. -
CSS, I would say, IS the future of Web Design and Development.I feel that CSS does at this point have its limitations, and needs some further expansion, including better methods for rounding corners. However, CSS does not even have to be used as a LAYOUT method for setting up sites/pages.You could simply use CSS to STYLE the site, i.e. change the colors/effects, and still use the old fashioned table layout methods. However, CSS can be used for layouts, as you well know.Personally, I feel that the table method of layouts is old-fashioned and out-dated. Using CSS and DIVs makes life so easy, and allows for greater flexibility. The real kicker for CSS, that I feel makes it so great, is using it to bring consistency to your entire site, easily! You can style an entire site, with millions of pages, with just ONE CSS document! And then if you need to change a part of it, you can change it in the file and since it is rippled throughout the entire site, with just that one change, is what makes it so beautiful! It saves you loads of time by not having to go back, page by page, and change everything manually! That is where and why I feel CSS really is the best method for designing sites.

The customization abilities in FireFox make it a good choice for starters. But the fact that it is so much more secure than IE (7 or not) makes it much better!!I feel that it's navigation is far easier than IE7's! Although, once you're used to Vista IE works just fine.Anyways, Firefox is far better! Also, when designing my Web sites, I always have trouble getting things to work in IE7, let ALONE IE6/5, where as in Firefox it just...WORKS!I think that Firefox's CSS engines are better than IE's, but my Web Design teacher claims otherwise...any thoughts on this?Who knows!

I have tested Windows Vista Ultimate Edition on my system.I completely love the OS, minus all the bugs.It is very nice looking, has nice animations, and looks far nicer than XP or earlier versions of Windows. However, the bugs that it still has are HORRIBLE.For me, for example, everything was working fine with Windows Media Center one second, and then the next it suddenly had no Internet connection. Then I was getting BLUE SCREEN errors on boot up.And also, it has a HUGE BUG with USB on restart! My mouse plugs in via USB, and after a reboot the mouse dies, and the only way to regain functionality was to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and then click somewhere on the screen that wasn't on the options and then it worked again...but only for a few minutes. So, I recommend purchasing it if:1) You have 2GB of RAM or MORE (preferrably)2) You have a hard drive with 15GB to spare merely to the OS.3) You want something fresh and appealing to the eye.But I would NOT recommend that you run out and purchase it today. Wait, wait, wait, until they get most of those bugs out! It'll be worth the wait.Plus, there still aren't many applications that you currently use that are compatible on Vista yet (for the most part).
