No. Does anyone know though if they get the blood for cosmetic surgery from organizations like the Red Cross (whichever place provides the blood for life-saving surgeries in your country)? I heard they do, and it just doesn't make any sense to me ("oh, sorry, we can't save you because this woman getting breast implants used the last of the hospital's o-negative blood yesterday..."). They might be separate though, I'm not sure, IMO anyone getting cosmetic surgery should have to provide their own blood.

Google Product Search (which I only know because I just looked it up on wikipedia, I didn't know what it was before). I don't really see the point, and they shouldn't have renamed it, the word "froogle" is funny, "Google Product Search" is not.

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion? Share ur views on ABORTION?
NNH1254 replied to Milk's topic in General Discussion
I'm undecided on abortion, I used to be pro-choice when I first learned what abortion was, now I lean more pro-life. A mother, especially one that was raped, shouldn't have to provide for a kid she doesn't want, but for the first nine months, she's the only one that can, and the fetus shouldn't have to die because the woman doesn't want it. I think there are a lot of people on both sides who don't really take the time to truly consider the other point of view. -
I never remember my dreams, and they hardly ever are of what I want when I do remember them, usually they're things that couldn't ever happen but that I really wouldn't want to happen. Usually they make no sense either. Maybe the ones I don't remember make sense and are things I want, I don't know obviously.

Microsoft Pay $6 Billion For Aquantive Online Ad Agency
NNH1254 replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Business Forum
Microsoft will never go bankrupt. I hope Microsoft doesn't buy Yahoo and suck it into MSN, I have a Yahoo account and if I'd wanted an MSN one I would have signed up at MSN instead, and they could overrun Google especially if they now have an ad company like this. -
The Best Media Player Which is your best media player?
NNH1254 replied to finaldesign's topic in Software
I don't know what the best is, I use Windows Media Player though I might download SongBird someday. I just use it for music, so WMP serves its purpose. It did apparently come preset to synchronize its files to whatever MP3 player I connected to the computer, which took all my Napster stuff off and I had to put it back on, that was annoying. -
Does Your School Annoy You? Too Tough On You?
NNH1254 replied to bttfpromo's topic in General Discussion
In some ways it does, some classes are basically worthless (English), some classes I like (history). Next year I'll have three periods of social studies, which I'm looking forward to since it's my favorite subject. Spanish class for me this year is completely pointless, I can either take the time to learn half of our 80 or so weekly vocab words and learn them so that I really remember them long-term, but then I'll fail the test since I don't know the others, or I can learn all of them for the test at the end of the week, but 80-100 is too many to really memorize in five days, meaning I can pass the test without learning Spanish or learn Spanish without passing the test. -
I don't think people are afraid of being an atheist and having that label or something like that, I think they might be afraid of what it would mean if atheism was correct (which, I think, is more likely than not). If there is no higher being, then when you die, you die and that's it, all that you did in life meant nothing beyond how it affected other people, and those other people are also meaningless in a way. Not following an organized religion is different than atheism, they could be deist or agnostic.

The Future Of Web Browsers Where do we go from here
NNH1254 replied to zachwyler's topic in The Internet
Short-term future probably just a gradual improvement, faster, better integration with sites, etc. Long-term changes to browsers would depend on which direction computers themselves though, if computers are completely revolutionized in 40 years then browsers will be too, maybe 3d like the hologram thread in the technology forum. -
Baseball even though it's boring to watch (and I'm a Chicago Cubs fan) and basketball.

Is there any way to make a blogger blog standards compliant? I did a few google searches and apparently the toolbar isn't compliant, does anyone know any way to make it compliant, or is it impossible? I'm thinking about starting a blog supporting making IE standards compliant, but it seems silly to do it on blogger if my blogger blog wouldn't validate.

Getting Fresh Water From The Ocean - My Idea
NNH1254 replied to dazappa's topic in Science and Technology
I think I misunderstood you, but if we just left a barrel out in Iraq we'd have a barrel of salt. You'd need something on top of it for the water, and it'd all need to be set up for every barrel, and you'd need to get the water from the ocean, and then all around the water-barrel-plant, and then back out wherever, and it'd all take up a lot of space. Solar panels would take up a lot of space too, but when we run out of oil we'd have a lot of space in Middle Eastern deserts with roads connecting them all because of where the oilfields used to be. -
I don't like him. If he weren't power-hungry he wouldn't keep getting more power to the executive branch, and he's got us in another Vietnam that's left at a minimum 40,000 civilians dead.

Same here, I'm thinking about reading it when school's over. I read Lord of the Flies in 6th grade too, didn't really get it, and read it again the summer after 8th, which was better. I wouldn't say it totally changed my life but it was important. Also Plato's Republic, I didn't agree with most of it but the allegory of the cave really did change how I looked at things.

I read around a dozen a year (not counting ones I read for school). My favorites would probably be the Dark Tower series or Ender's Game, but I've started reading the Dune books and they definitely might become my favorites. There's also some book in the back of my mind right now that I can't think of, if I remember it I'll edit the post I guess.

Have You Ever Lied Online? Tell me why people would lie online
NNH1254 replied to velma's topic in General Discussion
I haven't, if I don't want someone to know something I just don't tell them, it's the internet it's not like they can reach through our monitors and make me say something. I guess there are a few people out there who need to stay anonymous and lie for that reason, other people I don't know about. -
I use RedShift v2, I'm hoping the guy who does the shift themes makes a blue one for FF2 soon, right now red is the only one available. I also have pitchdark and blue ice, but I don't use them that often.

I've never used inbox.com, but probably gmail, even if you don't care that much about the features it's easier to have a google account (for reading feeds, blogging if you have any interest in doing it with blogger, etc.). Inbox.com seems to focus on e-mail, a google account is more useful. Also, there's a firefox extension I think called google skins if you don't like the look of gmail, it lets you change the color and modify the layout a bit.

The public high school where I live (northeastern US). Some parts of it I don't like, there are a lot of fights and it has gang issues so we go through metal detectors every morning and they search our bags, we get locked down every once in a while, things like that. Academically it's actually all right though, it has more AP classes than any of the suburban schools near us and an IBO program, so if you're in them you do get a good education. Being in honors doesn't really mean anything (they'll basically put people in honors English if they're literate), but once you're in the higher grade levels a lot of the worst students your age have turned 16 and dropped out.

That is pretty cool (I might buy one... if I was Bill Gates), especially when they start advancing it. What if they made a web browser like that? A kind of web browser of the future except it'd be a while before people actually made websites for them.

http://dayofsilence.org/ I did it last year after I found about it (around 9:00 in the morning), but I don't talk a lot anyway and some people that I saw all day didn't even notice I wasn't speaking until sixth period (about 1:30PM).

A search on free-webhosts.com (I'm not sure if that's a web site review or a search engine, I guess probably search engine even though it has comments).

Is Homosexuality Right Or Wrong? your views
NNH1254 replied to wakelim's topic in General Discussion
Like velma said, the whole "it was meant to be this way" thing only makes sense if you believe in creation, but even if you don't, you might say that if people weren't meant to be polygamous then why can men impregnate a woman when another is already carrying a child of theirs? Polygamy is the most efficient way of procreating, but most people don't say it's OK. Also, the most efficient way of procreating is not the best way of continuing the species, since we'd overpopulate and outstrip our resources. I don't really care if people are gay, as long as no lesbians think I'm one and ask me out it doesn't matter to me.
