Paradox

Hmmm... the places that most frighten me are:Small, tiny enclosed spaces. I'm not claustrophobic, but when you're trapped in a small place and can't breathe properly...On stage. With an Audience of people I know. I'm a theatre tech, I like the stage and all that goes with it... I just get massive stage fright when I have to stand up in front of a group of people I know well. Strangers I can handle, because they don't know me.

Untrue. It has been documented, from times long before movies, that Man gazed unto the heavens and wondered. We are not alone. There are vast possibilities for the universe, but almost none of those possibilites involve Earth being the only populated planet. Even if the live is primordial, or if it is technilogically advance beyond our comprehension, the fact is there is an extremely high chance of there being life on other worlds. It all has to do with sheer numbers. Look at the sky at night. You see those stars? Now imagine that every one of those stars has a planetary systems like ours. Now, imagine that what you can see at night is only a miniscule amount of our galaxy. Imagine that our galaxy is only one of an almost infinite amount. What you have just imagined is fact. Well, most of it. Not all the stars in the sky will have planetary systems, but many do. You cannot say that out of all those almost infinite planets that exist in our universe that we are the only one that contains life. If we are, then life on earth is obviously due to some freak accident. Which, according to the latest big bang theory is how the universe started... But that's for another time.

I got RPG Maker XP, and I must say it's fairly good. If you want a copy of it, try googling it.The map graphics are great, and the addition of a third layer really makes things easy.The hard part is understanding the comments in the coding... The version I got is still in japanese for that bit.Speaking of which, does anyone know how to re-code the battle system so it's side on, instead of front on?

The moral correctness of eating meat depends entirely on which set of morals you follow. To survive, any animal needs a certain amount of certain kinds of substances. In the case of carnivores and omnivores, this includes meat. The protiens, fats, iron and various other substances found inside meat are hard to duplicate in pills, and difficult to find in plants and the like. Some religions do not eat meat, or even condone the killing of any living thing. Some religions celebrate meat. Some people choose not to eat meat. Some people choose to. Some people choose not to eat meat that has been processed and brought from the supermarket, but instead hunt it themselves. It all depends on what you, the consumer of food, feel is right.

There are not any black dots. In fact, they are all white dots. They only appear as black because of an optical illusion.Still, it's fun to look at and try to count the 'black' dots.

In my free time, I like to mess around with Visual Basic, or plan my next D&D Campaign.If I'm not doing either of these, I like to read, or just sit and look at the stars (when it's dark, obviously)

I'm on a mission to discover the best software for making my own PRG games. Over the years, I've used various different systems to make them, including good old Basic, for those text based games.With the advent of software such as Game Maker, and RPG Maker, it has become much easier to create games at home. My question is, what program do you use, and why is it better than others you have tried?Also... Has anyone used RPG Maker XP yet?

I started off learning Basic, and much like it's name, it is. Very basic.However, Visual Basic is possible one of the most easy to use, and understand, programming language available to consumers. I use it all the time, and have saved myself much time by simply writing a program to do the work.Learn it, even if you don't plan to use it. It will serve as a stepping stone into the programming world.

Cellphones have been said to cause health problems because of the microwaves used in the transmission of data. You wouldn't stick your head inside a microwave, so why stick a microwave next to your head?That being said, the risks these days are minimal, Especially with text messaging. The less time the phone is next to your head, the better.

Man... That is one heck of a lot of space.At least it can be used for more than music. I don't know who has 27 days spare to listen to that much, but I don't. :)Well, I suppose it would be great to have all those songs on hand all at once, no need to plug it into a computer and change songs, no need to change CD's...I want one...

When I was a kid, I was terrified by the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz movie... Kinda sad really...My phobias are...- Being buried alive- Forgetting who I am- Clowns. No, seriously.

Looks like an interesting game. The story behind it is intriguing, and shows promise. However, I don't think I'll sign up. I seem to lose interest in many on-line games after a few days, and I feel that this will be no different.But otherwise, it looks like a good game.

Hmmm. It depends on what kind of effects and stuff you want to add.Software I have used, and found good for editing movies with are- iMovie- Pinnacle- Ulead Video (I can't remember the exact name) 7.0In terms of effects, Ulead was probably the best, but for simple, easy to use software, I'd go with iMovie. The only problem is, it's a Mac program, so if you only have access to windows PC's, then this isn't for you.My school uses Pinnacle to edit any video's they show publicly, and it seems to do what they need.

Hrmmm... I smell a rat... and it's not the one in the rice...I probably will continue to eat Thai food, mainly because I know the restaurant down the road doesn't put anything like that in their food.It's not a nice image...

How can someone do that... I mean, kill your grandparents, then go to school and shoot seven people, then yourself? Sure, maybe he had problems, but couldn't he just do himself in without the wanton waste of human life? Even if he was pissed off at being picked on at school/home, it doesn't give a reason to kill people... People like that piss me off...

Seriously, this is a major problem! I too find things hard to open without having to restort to knives or scissors.Especially those horrible, horrible thick plastic vacuum sealed things.A fair question! Why is the first bit of the toilet paper glued?! I think someone just wants consumers to have a difficult time.Packaging... Why?!

The 3 top things that get my blood boiling... hmm... 1. First year high school students disrespecting 5th year high school students and teachers. This happens at my school A LOT!. Well, just people disrespecting people. 2. People who just don't get it! I mean, you explain it to them a thousand times, and they still ask you how/why/what? 3. People that cause injury (mental, physical etc.) to other living beings just for kicks.

I have 2 consoles and a PC, and I find myself spending much more time on the PC than either of the consoles.I don't know why this is, but when i first got the consoles, you couldn't get me away from them. Maybe it's somthing to do with entertainment value...

I think there is nothing wrong with two people who love each other getting married, and that's really what this is about.Back in the old days, same-sex relationships were considered immoral, and going against the social norm. In the present however, it has become more widely accepted for two people of the same gender to be involved in a relationship. Sadly, this has applied to women more than men.Personally, I feel that gay marriages should be legal, and have the same status as non-gay marriages.Edit: I just realised I might be giving the wrong impression in this post. I am not Gay myself, but I respect Freedom of Choice.

Infomercials are the unwanted second-cousin of television programs. The scourge of all couch-potatoes everywhere, these horrid cancers of the television world have propagated and multiplied. Even here, in small New Zealand, infomercials can be seen at least once an hour, during the day. These small ads run for about 10 minutes, endlessly repeating the same things, over and over again. Then, mere hours before the sun is to rise, two entire channels open the gates of hell, and unleash hour upon hour of nothing but infomercials! You'd think that with TWO home shopping channels already, they could abide without flooding us with infomercials.
